2008 Dinning Package

Yes, it did change a bit. It's pretty much the same except you don't get an appitizer and the gratuity is NOT included. That means if you want an appitizer you have to pay out of pocket....and you have to pay the tip.

Oh and don't forget they made it a whole dollar cheaper too. LOL

They also added a dexluxe plan that includes 3 meals a night that can be either TS or CS and 2 snacks a night, this one does still include the appetizer and a refillable mug but still no tip.

If you go onto their website. they actually have the disney dining which includes 1 TS meal and ! QS meal with 1 snack a day. the TS meal only included entree and dessert.

Then they have the disney dining deluxe which includes 3 meals and 2 snacks a day, and 1 refillable mug.

Each per person.

If I had three meals a day at Disney, I would pop like a balloon on day 2.

i would not go to disney again with out it!
Well worth the price.
It saved us a family of 5 alot of money!!!!!!!!!
:wizard:  :cutie:

we have just booked this for our next trip in sep 08 as it is going save us a fortune as there is four adults and four children going and best of all it is free lol

You can find more info on the dining board about this. I think it still is a good deal as well though.

Yes there are changes and new plans for 08... we opted for the Dulx dining plan and cant be MORE excited... :) We are able to eat everywhere we want including several 2ts credit meals... :)

i don't know if it is such a good deal anymore. Really the price went up at least 15% for tip, plus no longer get an appetizer. We are opting out this trip, and only doing 2 TS meals out of our pockets as oppose to 1 each day. I am going to miss the TS but i think 2 will be enough, and that will give us more time to be at the parks less travel and wait time for the TS services. Although i really enjoy the character meals, we will save alot more by paying as we go for CS instead.

We talked a bit about this in another thread, but I think that the people are going tip less now. Supposedly the staff was mad they were only getting a set 18% tip, but now most likely alot of people will give them only 15 %. Some may be less. I know my DH jsut plops down a set amoutn (usually 6 dollars) I have to tell him, hey it needs to "this" amount usually if I see what he lays. I have also dated a few other guys that basically do the smae thing. So in some cases they may get 20% or more, but other times they may get less than what they deserve.

We loved the Dining Plan used it two times (Dec 2005 & May 2007 trips). I am now trying to decide if it is in our best interest to use it for our Dec 08 trip. I think we will because we enjoy the table service meals. My son loves to dine around World Showcase, so we usually plan our dinner to be a table service meal and use the counter service for lunch. We definitely saved money using the plan in the past (past trips dining plan included appetizer, entree, desert & tip) - I actually printed menus from allearsnet.com before our last trip & calculated what it would cost us out of pocket vs. the dining & it would have been alot more expensive for out of pocket. Definitely do some research & figure out what is the best plan for your family. :confused3

The first two years we went to Disney we paid for our food. For 10 days, the food was about $1000 (Family of four) and that was with three table services.

Early this spring we booked a 10 day trip and paid for the meal plan. When the free food deal came out our package dropped about $1000.

Our reasoning is for the same $1000 you eat like a king.
One table service alone (when we paid for it) can run $70-80 dollars for the four of us.
The first year of the meal plan we ate at Le Cellier Steakhouse (EPCOT, Canada) and our bill would have been over $250.

If your not big eaters the meal plan may not be for you.

Actually I enjoyed a meal more when I got a smaller portion
I wasn't groaning after saying I ate too much. Just cause you can get the biggest hunk of meat and dessert, doesn't mean you have to.

How did you get the free dining plan for sept. 2008 - I thought that wasn't being offered yet, did I miss something, we were thinking about going that month, thanks ...

Most likey they did the bounce back program. They went this year and book a trip to come back the same time next year.
