****2008 Ddp FAQ****

Greetings,
My DH and I just bought DVC and are planning a crazy family reunion in a Grand Villa in Jan 2009 ( I know that currently the rules don't apply for 2009 but I am looking for general answer and I think that current and 2008 rules will work)
We have 12 total coming to visit for the grand gathering reunion thingy. This will technically be 5 families. Since we are booking the Villa with DVC and DH and I want DDP Does that mean everyone has to be on DDP or can each family decide for them selves?
The other question is, if we all are on the plan, can we have each "family's credits" seperated? I think it would be very difficult to keep track of who used how many snacks when we have 60 available to us (12 people x 5 nights).

thanks in advance.

For a Grand Villa, all 12 people in the GV must be on the Dining Plan (or none). There is no means to separate the credits within a single GV (except, of course, by agreement between your family members -- Disney won't get involved).

That is what i thought. So if we wanted to seperate the credits, we would have to book seperate rooms per family. which would also then let each family decide if they want DDP right?

I hadn't seen this mentioned yet but I went to start quoting for a Dec 08 trip and the snack option had been clearly defined by Disney on their site. It actually lists the very few items that qualify. Here's the direct quote from where I was trying to book....

One snack per person, per night (ages 3+) – One snack includes one of the following: frozen ice cream novelty, popsicle, fruit bar, popcorn scoop (single serving box), single serving grab bag of chips, single piece of whole fruit, 20-oz. bottle of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite or Dasani water, medium fountain soft drink or juice, 12-oz. coffee, hot chocolate or hot tea.

anyone have more information on this?

anyone have more information on this?
How is that different from what the 2007 brochure said? Seems like the same wording to me.

Even being a DVC member since 1996 I seem to be in the dark when it comes to uncovering info on prices for alot.

The Disney.com travel info is shy on giving $$ prices (only package prices) and the DVC area is pretty covert too. (I find it once and then try to go back and the info is "moved".

We could not drink $39.99 a day of wine each...please tell me it is $39.99 per couple.

I can see where DVC members will break up their reservations and do a few days on the plan at one resort and-move to another resort for a few days without it.

Again thanks for all the fine info!:thumbsup2

The complete list should be available by mid-November. I wouldn't be concerned about not seeing any additions to the published list in the brochure before then.

It is 1 bottle per room. Not per person. I was told that they are not allowing you to buy more than one wine package per room. No matter how many adults there are. Sure hope that changes!

I have a question re: leftover credits. Right now, we are scheduled for Feb 9 - March 9. We have 9 nights so we will get 9 DDP credits. Will they expire on March 8 or will we still be able to use them on March 9? Check out is obviously at 11, however our flight doesn't leave until 6:30pm so we were planning to hit DTD and we will still have 2 CS credits left, the way we are currently scheduled. Do we have to use them BEFORE our check-out day or can we still use them the day of check-out?

TIA!

Hi! You can use them through midnight on the day you check out! :thumbsup2 Enjoy!

Okay, I know the tax on your meal is included in the DDP,but....I was told that there IS tax on the $37.99 & $9.99. Also, I know Fantasmic at the Brown Derby used to accept DDP. Anyone know if they still do?

Hi, First of all, let me say that I am sorry since this question most likely has been asked already. Since the 2008 dining plan does not include the appetizers, does that mean that we wont be able to take, for example, the Fixed Price Dinner at Artist Point which includes the appetizer, entree and dessert? Thanks

If you were on the 2007 Dining Plan there would be no need to take the fixed price dinner at AP, because all the items offered are on the regular menu. You would just pick the appetizer, entree and dessert from the menu, and if you wanted the same ones that are offered on the FP menu, you could get them.

You are correct that in 2008 you would not be entitled to the appetizer on the basic plan. If you wanted the appetizer you would need to pay for it.

Don't know if this is the same but I called to ask about the "dinner for two" or whatever it's called at Nine Dragons and they told me it was included, it would just be 2 TS per two people. Maybe I had better call back!
