2008 DDP discussion, questions, rants and vents

Does anyone know if you can share your table service meals on the deluxe plan? I have an 11 year old, and with an appetizer and dessert, we can easily share 1 ts meal. We were hoping to use the extra credits for signature dining. Thanks!

I don't think it is allowed - but with delux, why would you need to share - so many credits and so little time!! We are doing delux also, and plan on 1 TS breakfast, then 2TS dinner or show.

Me and my friend are going on a girl's trip to WDW (just the two of us) in June and we've been hesitant on booking cause we can't decide on whether or not to do the DDP. We'll be staying from June 13th-18th and wanted to know if the Dining Plan would be worth it for the two of us. We already have an ADR for CM character breakfast. I'm really curious and am hoping to make a decision soon. Thanks.

Initially I booked the DDP for convenienmce and budget purposes. Having discoverd these discussion boards, and read pages of comments I am now even more confused and worried that we will not get complete value and eat where we want. Therefore is it possible that someone would be kind enough to assist with the following.
a) If I must make reservations at for table service restaurants - where do I get the contact numbers etc.
b) We are staying for a week -Where must we eat to get the best experience.
c) Is it inly single credits that are used for charcater dining
d) is charter dining in different locations to the 'main' retsurants.

OK this has prolly been asked several times but, I have not read all the posts. So, here is my question/comment. There will be 6 in my party so I know the 18% will be added automatically. But, is the 18% based on pre-tax amount or post tax? And being on the DDP do we just give them one ticket and place the cash for the tip in the bill holder? I know these are prolly stupid questions but, this is our first time on the DDP, we usually go with the flow and pay OOP. We are doing it up this year as it will most likely be our DD, and our oldest DS's last time to go on the yearly trip with us and it is DD's fiance's first trip since he was 7 (he is 22).

Call 1 407 WDW DINE this boughts you through to where you make ressies for all restaurants on the plan. Do it NOW to get what you want when you want. All they ask is for your reswie 3 or phone #.

Check out the menus on AllEars . I can give you a few suggestions. At MK Crystal Palace has a character meal with Winnie the Pooh and friends. They have break. lunch & supper. It is buffett and one of my favs.At the Studios they have Hollywood and Vine with the little einsteins at breakfast and lunch. Also Sci Fi is cool you eat in cars like at a drive in. AK has a character breakfast at Tusker House, Epcot has Garden Grill with Mickey & friens and the restaurant rotates this is family style . Then at the Contemporary is Chef Mickey's breakfast & supper. All of these are single credits. There are so many more but these are just a few to give you an idea. The characters are in the main restaurant and many adults only go to them!! They are fun!!Hope this helps!!

It's pre-tax

You can just write Cash on the Tip Line and either leave it on the table or put it in the bill holder.

We have just returned from this year's Disney dream, and found the 2008 DPP to be expensive and restrictive. Planet Hollywood even said we HAD to share one desert between 2 - tough when you all like something different.

For us we mostly prefer appetizers to deserts, so the restriction to deserts and entrees only hit us badly.

We cancelled the DPP for the 2nd part of our holiday (2 sites, 2 reservations, so could do so). The charge for DPP would have been around $1350 - we ate what we wanted, when we wanted (eg Le Cellier etc), and our total bill including new pins and treats, came to $1250. No brainer for us - no DPP!!!

Why did they make you share a dessert? Were you sharing a TS?

You shouldn't be made to share a dessert unless you ordered one that was meant to be ordered for 2 people.

Planet Hollywood has a dessert sampler, if you ordered that it was probably meant to be shared.

You can, however, share CS meals you buy with DxDDP meal credits, and augment them with some of your snack credits per day. Since CS is the same as TS on the DxDDP, this will save a DxDDP meal credit or 2 throughout your stay. On our recent trip, I bought 1 breakfast platter and 2 milks with 1 meal credit (using 3 refillable mugs for coffee) and then bought 2 cereals and an orange and banana (4 snacks) and had breakfast for 3 people. This saved 2 meal credits to be used for signature later.

Sales tax is included, but tips are not except when using two credits at Cinderella's royal table.

Hello, this is my first post/question. I hope I'm in the right place. My question is the 2008 Adult DDP Deluxe is $69.99 3 meals/2 snacks per day. However, say I spent $100 alone on TS meals in one day; that's meals, appetizers, drinks, dessert. What do I tip on when I actually spent far less for the meal than it was worth? I only paid $69.99 for the meals inc snacks. Therefore my meal's really didnt cost me $100. I dont see the value if I have to fork out 15-18% tip. That add's up with a family of 4. Just thought I'd ask you all's opinion, thanks!
