2008 CHOC Walk

Hi DIS friends,

I have registered to participate in the 2008 CHOC/Disneyland Resort Walk in the Park to help raise money for Children's Hospital of Orange County. This event will be held at Disneyland on Sunday, October 19th. CHOC's goal is to raise $1.5 million. So far, they've only raised 28% of their fundraising goal. YOUR HELP IS NEEDED.

Are you walking with a team? We were thinking about doing the walk, too and wondered if there was a DIS team. I couldn't find one for the WISH guys or one that said it belonged to the DIS!

We are walking with The Disney VoluntEARS Walk Team. Disney VoluntEARS is a charitable organization made up of Disney cast members who donate their time to helping charities and service organizations in their communities around the world. I'm not a cast member but I am an annual passholder. Disneyland passholders are invited to join Disney VoluntEARS walk team. Come join us.

Just wanted to say thanks for doing the CHOC walk (and thanks to anyone who sponsers a walker). My son goes to CHOC for much needed feeding therapy. He's had a long and difficult medical history in his 3 years of life which has lead to him not wanting to eat so we're now trying to teach him how to eat so we can get him off his feeding tube. CHOC is the only place around that does the type of intensive feeding therapy that he needs. Most of the places that do this are on the east coast so we are very happy to be going to CHOC for this. And they are wonderful there. We've had extensive experience at another hospital down here that is supposed to be really good but i have to say that our experiences at CHOC have been SO much better.

By the way, we were at CHOC for a doctor's appointment the other day and I almost felt like I was at DL. Okay, not really but there were a lot of DL logos everywhere because they had sponsored this or that thing in the hospital so that was pretty neat seeing how DL helps out the community.
