Now i think there is no question about it U.S.A. is the best team in the world by far. You said Greece didnt look that good but now they made Spain look like that. Maybe its not them looking good its U.S.A. making them look that way. Because Spain is definatly the number 2 team in the world.

I was thinking today it would be really interesting if somebody worked out the ratio of medals in a team to the number of entered events like so using a randomn example country 'EmmaLand' has athletes in 20 events and it wins in 4 so like it won 20% while 'EvilLand has 100 athletes and won 10 medals but only 10%...

Because like some countries have got athletes entered into loads of events while other countries have got them in less. So the country with athletes entered into the most events is statistically going to be top of the leader board. Which is why I've never seen the point to the medals board because it's not a level playing field from the start

Anyway I've been really enjoying these olympics and I cannot WAIT till it's out turn next time, especially as I'll be in final year at uni (and hopefully) at a London university

and Usain "Lightning" Bolt takes the gold in the men's 100m dash with a new world record time of 9.69 seconds. Tyson Gay didn't even make the finals. And what should have been a sweep of the men's shot put ended up being a lone silver medal for the US. Reese Hoffa failed to get a mark in 3 attempts and Adam Nelson was off his game because of a pulled muscle. Ugh.

maybe it's just because i'm a softball player, but it kinda makes me mad that this is the last year for softball and baseball in the olympics, but they can have sports like trampoline and crap like that.
i mean, i have respect for those athletes, but there is no need get get rid of such a famous sport as baseball.
they were talking about how cuba is even more mad about the comittee getting rid of baseball than the american players are because it's like the world series to them.

this is the last year i'll get to see jenny finch.

Trampolining's part of gymnastics and it's perfectly feasible thats it's an olympic sport....can't you see what those guys can do!!

As far as I'm aware Baseball isn't a very worldwide sport I dunno but I've never been aware of it outside America maybe I'm just ignorant feel free to correct me

My mom said the same thing. Even the commentators(sp?) were saying the scores they were giving the chinese were way too high for what they did. But we got the gold and silver sooo that's good!!



Are you talking about the qualifying race??? If you are then he didn't care because it wasn't for a medal or anything.

Another great story in these olympics that has flew under the radar is the Dara Torres story. This lady is 41 years old and competing for a gold medal tonight against ppl half her age and at there peak. Sounds remarkable to me I no not as good as Phelps but truly another olympic moment great.

Without it, I'd be lost. Srsly. I live for track.

I bought a new pair of shoes today. I like the shoes, but it was the laces that did me in and made me buy them (even if they are a half size too big). They say "Shut up and Run" on them.

Anyway. I was disappointed in the men's 100m. That was lame. Men's shotput should have swept it, but we ended up with a lone silver. We're looking ok in the 400m and 100m womens, though. Probably not gold caliber, but good. And China hasn't been doing that hot in the track, so we could creep further past them in the medal count.
