hey All, The auditor is gone.. it was an old lady and jeff was so nasty to her when she got here. Not that it wasn't justified she was 2 hours late. She made her excuses and he wanted none of it and told her she had 20 minutes and he was leaving... he is so sweet..anyway we found out why she was so late because she never stops talking..omg i wanted to scream shutup. Anyway it is over and she kept our premium the same which is shocking considering how rude we were to her... I didn't even offer her coffee to go with her stale cookies..lol

2 hours late !! that's terrible, I'm not surprised that Jeff was nasty to her. Glad it all worked out OK though I don't know about stale cookies, you should've got her a gobstopper

I'm here for one post - gonna watch Meet the Robinsons with Ian. It's been a stressful afternoon - remind me that I love my teenager....... She's been a piece of work today. Ian had a roller skating party at school, it was his first time skating so that was fun to experience with him.

Michele - I can't believe she was two hours late. WTG go with stale cookies and no drink. Glad everything went ok though.

I think I've got a quiet day today. Me and Paul will probably go and see his aunt at the nursing home this morning, then there's Rugby on the TV this afternoon and then we're going out for an Indian meal tonight with some friends

Well, this is why I had to spend a lazy day yesterday - I am up and going to shower and get ready to head up for my busy day up north!! UGH!! The weather is horrible, so, that ought to make the drive a bit more miserable!! I am so glad the kids decided to take CCD down here next year... I go up to work 'all the way up there' I'd rather not do it for CCD too... We've been going back and forth for 2 and a half years doing this.. FINALLY they made the decision that it's enough going up... the good thing up there is, it is only once a month, down here it is every week on Tuesday.. and I have to tell you, Tuesday in my house is moaning/groaning - "I'm bored" - because Ant has nothing to do - so - it's better that they go w/their friends!

Mandy - have fun tonight w/your friends out!

Veronica - you are NOT going to believe this one - we MIGHT have baseball practice next weekend - I won't find out for sure to mid-week, but I'll let ya know - if we have an early practice, we'll still be good to meet.. I will keep ya posted on that!

Michele - I hope you had a relaxing night at work - how are things on your end today?

Sandy - I hope your teen troubles are better today - I have to say I am NOT looking forward to the teenage years, but I am hoping w/boys it is different!

I got tons of work related tasks done all morning I'd put off during the week. I just got a phone call from Johns Hopkins pediatric surgery letting me know Keegan has a 9AM appt Wednesday and I need a referral. I guess they aren't too optimistic the mass will be gone on Tuesday's CT scan. I'm so stressed out with all of this I could just throw up and cry at the same time.

Take it minute by minute if you have to. Think of it this way. Maybe they are being over cautious and you can always cancel the appointment. If I have learned anything over the past year with all of the horrible things they have tested Em for, it is so not a good thing to waste the energy on what they are testing for. I know.. Easier said.. I have cried buckets waiting for some of the test results. It sucks.. There is no other way to say it. Just keep looking forward. And vent whenever you need to!

MIXING DRINKS?!! I wish!

Yesterday was another crazy day at school. It was PJ day and the kids were nuts! It was also Mark's B'day. By the time everything was done I sat down on the couch and fell asleep! I was wiped!

I was also playing phone tag with Em' s pediatrician's office. We have and appointment at Children's in Boston on March 27th but that is only to see the neurologist about her 1 seizure she had when she was sick a few weeks ago. We are seeing the head of the neuromuscular neurology dept Dr. Basil Darras on June 9th again in Boston.

I don't know if I have ever told you guys the story or not, but basically we have had a tough year. Em has been getting occupational and physical therapy since she was 9 months old (she is now 22 months) because of a gross motor delay. At 12 months(last april) our Ped sent us to a Ped Neuro at Vermont Children's Hospital with a suspicion of Muscular dystrophy. Long story short it wasn't that. It is almost a year later and we still don't know what it is. She has had a ton of blood tests, 3 urine organic acid tests, a muscle biopsy, 2 EEG's, 1 EMG, 1 reptitive nerve study, a Spinal tap, etc, etc, etc, and nothing has turned up. She is 22 months and can just hold the crawling position. She can't crawl, pull to stand or walk.

When she got so sick and had to be admitted to ICU, a big piece of the puzzle may have surfaced. Em had the high fever, but it disappeared. When they tested her blood sugar it was 56 in the ER.. That is considered hypoglycemic. It may have been the hypoglycemia that caused the seizure. Whenever she get's weird, we test her sugar. We also now feed her a snack every 2 hours.

There are some inborn errors of metabolism that can present in a child the way Em's did. Tests like organic urine acid can be normal like Em's until they have a metabolic crisis - Like a seizure. There is a chance she either doesn't produce and enzyme she needs for metabolism or she produces one that doesn't work right.

Our Neuro in Vermont has not been able to figure anything out and wanted to put her on seizure meds.. Our Ped, Mark and I respectfully disagree. I am not putting her on seizure meds for 1 seizure. At that point our Ped here decided we needed a 2nd opinion so we are THANKFULLY off to Boston. Have you ever seen an episode of Mystery diagnosis? That is our life.

I didn't mean to ramble, but I wanted to fill you guys in.

Oh Jen, I didn't realise the extent of the worry you've been through this past year. It must be so frustrating having all these tests and not getting any answers

How is Emma on a daily basis ? Is she a happy little girl despite her problems - if so, then I guess that's all that matters

I'm with you on the seizure meds, I wouldn't want to put my girls on medication for what I hope is just a one off

I really hope you get some answers soon

I slept in late today came home with a major hedache from work last night.Nicole and I had a huge fight last night before i left for work. i will spare laurie the repeat and just give the highlights basically she is grounded for the school stuff and she threw a fit because i wouldn't let her go out last night with her friends. I am ruining her life etc. Of course it is all me not jeff because he is just my puppet and does whatever i say. So we are still not speaking today. There must be something in the air this week affecting all the teenagers..lol
