Laurie - remember muscle is heavier then fat therefore with all the exercising your doing your turning fat into muscle. That's what I always tell myself.

My excitement for the day is I figured I better book my airmiles portion of the trip since I'm approx six months away. The only flight I could get was Aug 15 to Aug 30 and there was only three seats left so I took them. It looks like We will have three more days then originally planned Woo Hoo saved $1500.00 in airfare. Now I just have to wait for a seat sale to get from Vancouver to Orlando. (I'm half way there)

How's everybody's day so far? (Us West Coasters are just getting home from work)

I know about the muscle/fat thing, but, I've only been exercising a week, do you think I would start building muscle already??

I'm still waiting for SW to release our return date. I have our air on the way down - got it for $120 pp, now I just need a DING fare. I'm used to $49 each way. Hope everyone is enjoying the eclipse. Ian is jumping up and down - kids are so easily entertained

I tried to wake Keegan up at about 8:50 to see the start of it since he loves anything dealing with planets but he looked out the window a split second and rolled back to sleep. Brennan wouldn't even roll his eyes open so it's just me in my pjs and my beagle Maggie out in the snowy back yard watching. Not a single person on my block is looking (their blinds are all down too so they aren't just looking out the window). I tried to take a picture to show my boys in the morning but it came out all blurry and black. I'm not about to take out the tripod now.

Our "flurries" turned into a couple of inches and it's FREEZING out there.

No snow but FREEZING here. DH went outside to brave the elements but DS and I are watching from in the house. It's eerily dark right now. I will probably sign off soon. So have a great night all.

Still no hot water, ugh Evidently there is some sort of mesh on the bottom of the water heater that is still wet and takes forever to dry out. Good news is it will eventually dry, bad news I WANT A PROPER SHOWER. Sponge baths are getting old really fast.

Oh Sandy, what a nightmare, I hope everything dries out very soon and that you have your hot water back on too

I am glad Becky is ok - how did Paul do??

Yay, it makes the trip seem closer when you start booking flights etc.

Everyone is sick here, I still have no voice, and no hot water. It's just one of those weeks.

Wow, it sounds like you've had an interesting trip. I take it you won't be going back there again. I did smile about the waiter at both restaurants, I'm not surprised that you left when you realised that the same guy owned both restaurants. What a shame you weren't able to enjoy the whale watching, I wouldn't have done very well if people were throwing up around me either

Southwest hasn't listed any fares yet for our travel dates, right? I have that 'ding' thing too - haven't seen anything in a while - my sis usually does well w/it - she lives in FL and flies up here for short trips every once in a while - I on the other hand, have never been lucky w/southwest.. I usually do well w/Airtran out of Philly.

I didn't do it yesterday or today - I was upset w/the scale thing - now it looks like I might have lost a pound - we'll see at WW today - but, I have to tell you - all the work that I've done, and sacrifice - I should've lost more than that!!!! Makes me SO mad!

You're right. They are only booking through 8/22 right now. We are flying down on 8/20 for 4 nights at WDW first - so I have the flight down.

No 2 hour delay here. We only got about 3 inches, but there certainly were some slick spots coming home from wrestling last night and the roads still looked icy this morning. They had a 2 hour planned delay for teacher meetings on Tuesday (they were supposed to be off Monday but went for a snow make up) and I wish they'd have skipped it and used it today. At least the sun is out and it's powdery snow. The forecast says snow all day tomorrow.

I have a gov't background special agent coming in an hour so I can swear my allegience to the US for my secret clearance. I had a secret clearance before 9/11 but have to have it renewed and becuase I was a dual UK/US citizen as a child (my mom's Scottish) I have to go through this today.

I better get going and get some things done!

I have a gov't background special agent coming in an hour so I can swear my allegience to the US for my secret clearance. I had a secret clearance before 9/11 but have to have it renewed and becuase I was a dual UK/US citizen as a child (my mom's Scottish) I have to go through this today.

Oooh, that sounds interesting, is this agent just coming to ask you questions ? or do you have to attend a ceremony with other people ? or do you just have to recite something to the agent ? Sorry for being so nosy, it just sounds intriguing

I'm really not sure what she's going to ask me. She called for the meeting 2 days ago and has 15 questions she says she needs in my house. I am glad it's here because I certainly wouldn't want to be talking about personal stuff in the middle of Panera. The clearance paperwork is about 12 pages long and I had to list lots of stuff---where I've lived, worked, all of my relatives, neighbors, college, etc. I had to state I don't have a mental illness, arrest record, I'm not in debt, etc. I did the paperwork back in 1991 when I was a co -op physical therapy student at the U.S. Naval Academy through out college, but it has expired and I need another secret clearance. I do employee security clearance submissions as part of my position for our company, so I need to have one myself. Since I was a dual citizen, she said she needs to have me swear my allegience to the U.S. They had a few questions on the paperwork about allegience, if I'd ever been in a coup and such and I answered U.S as my allegience and that I have never tried to overthrow anyone's government. I guess I'll find out in 15 minutes what she will ask. She may go around to my neighbors to ask them about me. They did that last time. Of course the only neighbor probably home is the one that I can't stand and haven't spoken with in about 3 years. She's very racist, biased, etc. and said some very nasty things about gays belonging on reservations to me one summer and I haven't spoken to her since. We live in one of the nicest neighborhoods in the area, but this family is what one would call serious rednecks. They have rifles and confederate flags hanging in their foyer and anti governement bumper stickers. They run a tool truck business and don't really respect anyone else around here. They have 5 kids and their 20 something sons have about 2 cars each and motorcycles that they are always revving, working on and making lots of noise. We have a homeowners association that has taken them to court as a nuisance homeowner. Out of 304 houses in the neighborhood, they are the only ones like this.

I better go get my dog a bone or something to keep her quiet the next half hour or so. I just hope this agent shows up on time!

Mandy - that is SOOOOOOOOOOO cool!! Did you mail in a postcard or something for the sweepstakes?

We actually were 'awarded' dream fastpasses for AK when we were there in November. Nothing fabulous - but, better than nothing!!
