Happy St. Patricks Day!

Had a really busy weekend, the Gymnastics meet is over, DD sang the Star Spangled Banner twice. I was so nervous, especially the second time, because she competed that session also. I realized she had not warmed up the singing, while she was out on the floor warming up the gymnastics, so she came off the floor, lined up with her team and then walked over and sang. From a mom's point of view, she did a great job and all of her teammates thought it was cool, she even got a hug from her coach! Then she competed and had her personal best scores on vault and beam and she won the all around for her age level! I was so proud of her, she has worked so hard. I wish I had half of her work ethic and just a tiny bit of her confidence. I have no idea where it comes from!

I am working all week, the kids are off Friday through the whole next week! I hate it when they are off and I have to work. I work from home and get nothing done!

I want to hear more about the WW. I need to loose weight desparately, but have never had any success. A friend is trying to get me to try WW. I want to get back to the gym this week, I am finally over the bronchitis and can breath again. I can't believe how fast you lost weight. I was reading a post on this site and it talked about all of the products with High Fructose Corn Syrup and that by cutting it out of your diet, you crave sweets less and feel better. It is in everything! I am going to try it, but it will mean giving up Coke, which I should do anyway, I just don't want to:guilty:

I think one of the reasons that I have lost 10 lbs is cutting out soda. I do the WW points plan. It's pretty flexible and easy to follow without completely starving yourself. My problem is self control. Good luck.

What a proud moment to have your daughter sing the 'Star Spangled Banner' at her gymnastics event. :cheer2: Well done to her for getting her personal bests too:cheer2:

I buy a few WW items, but mainly cos they show the calorie amount, and I'm counting calories on my diet

I'm pleased that you're feeling better, and that you're feeling well enough to get to the gym. We're all trying to lose some weight before the Cruise and everyone is really supportive on here (even when we put weight on ) :wizard: Good Luck:wizard:

Here is the extra fish extender i really don't need..lol

Cool fish extender Michele, I hope you are able to sell it on :thumbsup2

Thank you both for the warm welcome! Laurie, if there is one thing I know it is Disneyland! So ask away if you have any questions.

Thanks!! We haven't told the kids yet, but I am sure as soon as they find out, they will have a million questions!!! We are staying at Paradise Pier hotel - I can't wait!!

So, everyone I tell that I am going to DL says to me, "You are going to hate it - It's not like WDW" - I know it has to be different, but there is still lots to see and do, right???

I have just finished running around after everyone, the girls are home, they've had their dinner, school uniform is in the washing machine and I'm going to chill, relax, watch TV and DIS this evening (yay !!)

I can't remember either, 'WHERE ARE YOU SUZANNE, COME AND CHAT, WE MISS YOU GIRL !!!' - I hope she's OK :)

Welcome to the group Melissa, can't wait to get to know you. I'm Sandy and I'm traveling with my daughter (16) her friend Bethany (16) my MIL Barb and her sister Brenda. They don't "get" the DIS either.

I have heard good things about the Paradise Pier, I hope you will enjoy it. For me choosing Disneyland or Disney World would be like deciding which one of your children you love more. They are each wonderful in their own way. Disneyland is much smaller, but i also think it is more intimate and more detailed. Take some time and enjoy the atmosphere and look for the little differences between Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom. As for California Adventure, some people love it and some hate it. i am somewhere in the middle. I enjoy being there, but given the choice I would choose Disneyland every time. Happy planning!

Melissa

Sounds like everyone had a great weekend!

Way to go on the weight loss SandyM!

Congrats to your daughter Phoneixphantom! What a day of great accomplishments!!

Micheleluvsmickey--I agree about the holidays being so stressful. My sister always comes down and brings her "devil dog" that bites, is super hyper and chews on furniture. We bring out our beagles old kennel out from the shed and they don't like to put him in it since he sleeps with them at home, but we insist. You can't even sit down on the sofa without him biting toes or trying to bite our dog's tail or ears. We've asked them to leave him at home with a dog sitter, but they still bring him. I love my sister, but hate that dog. Then my FIL always invites himself down each holiday, birthday, Father's Day, etc too and is extremely high maintenance and doesn't lift a finger to help or play with the boys. I think we are going to start going on vacation over holidays just by ourselves!!

Welcome to our group Melissa!

Our travel party includes me (Danielle), my DH Derek, DSthen 11 Keegan and DS7 Brennan. We love DCL and this will be our 6th Disney cruise. We've done the 3 day, 4 day, Eastern, Western and Mediterranean voyages. This will be our first double dip of CC and we can't wait.

We had a great but super busy weekend too. Keegan had baseball practice Saturday. We didn't know it had been changed to 9AM instead of 10AM so he missed the first hour. He made it through two and a half hours of practice with zero pain and even ran the bases. Since we wouldn't have been able to make it to Baltimore until 1:30 and the Aquarium would be closing in a few hours, we skipped it until we can spend more time there for the $100 it would cost to enter. We wound up with about 6 boys here until dinner time and took one of Keegan's friends with us to Texas Roadhouse for dinner.

Sunday we went to church, went to Dicks Sporting Goods and bought the boys new baseball cleats and new bikes since they had outgrown their old ones, and went to the end of season wrestling banquet. By the time we got home and the boys showered, it was bed time.

This afternoon I have to pick Brennan up from after school bowling, then both boys have baseball practice. Keegan's is about a half hour away at 5:00 and Brennan's is 10 minutes away at 6:00. Derek's on night work so I'm going to try and get my parents to take Keegan since I don't want him left alone with everything that's been going on health wise with him. This is Brennan's first night of full practice. Keegan has practice Wednesday, batting practice on Thursday and then practice twice on Saturday (regular team and traveling all stars). His coach always has 3 plus hour practices and he's also the 11 and under all star coach and will have them practice all afternoon on Satruday since they won't practice their usual time this Sunday (surprise because he has them practice on Father's Day and Mother's Day). I don't want to burn Keegan out, but in order for him to play, he has to attend the practices. Anyone else's kids play baseball and practice this much? I don't recall having half as much practice when I played.

I think we are going to start going on vacation over holidays just by ourselves!!

Now that sounds like a plan Danielle :thumbsup2

Goodness me, I'm exhausted just reading what you did over the weekend ;) It sounds like Keegan is getting more and more back to normal, glad you all had a good weekend

I bet you're looking forward to your break at WDW, how long is it till you go now, you lucky girl ? :thumbsup2

We leave on the 24th and come back on the 28th. The boys were supposed to be off of school that Friday and now they'll have a snow make up day and will miss it. I sure hope we don't get in trouble for all of the school Keegan will have missed this year. I don't think he's ever missed more than 6 days except one year when he missed 10 when we did our first land/sea cruise. He's missed a good 6 days in the last month from his illness/hospital visits, plus a good 7 days from vacation in October/December. He'll miss 1.5 days this month and 1.5 days next month for vacations. I'm going to try and get his next round of blood work and next CT done after or before school. Fortunately, he's a very good student and working above grade level so he won't be falling behind. There is no real limit on days of excused absenses, I just hope they excuse the 3 days he'll miss for vacations. After what he's gone through this last month, I really don't care if they mark them unexcused.

We did book our August 22nd flight down to MCO on Southwest over the weekend. We got $89 which seems to be a great rate. I got $89 each way in April and was hoping for a ding rate, but nothing ever came up. The flights are now up to $130 and $199. Crazy! It's probably still cheaper than driving.

Has anyone ever just done carry on luggage? I'm seriously considering doing that next month. We will only be gone 4 days and will have all shorts/t-shirts and swim suits. We are doing the Magical express and I didn't want to be waiting on our swim suits and pj's until midnight. I guess I could always do a carry on with essentials and that night's clothing and pack the rest in regular luggage.

Good afternoon everybody! This board was busy again today:cool1: Lets see if I can catch up!

Laurie...wow what a crazy week you have ahead of you. Hopefully you can get some relaxation once you are down in Myrtle Beach!

We still have no idea what we are going to do for easter my mom is being a pain in the a## about what she wants to do . My friend from pa can't make up her mind if she is coming down or not. I hate holidays for this reason.
I think Danielle has a good idea...go away for holidays so you don't have to deal with any of this drama!

It's been 14 days today for me and I've lost exactly 10 pounds. I'm super happy with that as I haven't been that good. I agree with everyone else, you have to have one "treat" day. My day us usually Sunday.
:worship: Way to go Sandy! Thats a lot of weight in a short period of time:thumbsup2 You must be being very good!

I'm so happy your daughter did so well at her meet and with the singing!:thumbsup2 You must have been so anxious and so proud!

Soda is one of my weaknesses too! When I give it up I really see a difference though! Your self control must be working well because you have been doing great!

:welcome: Melissa! So happy to have you join us! My name is Veronica and I am traveling with DH Tom, DS Bryan (6) and DD Emily (2) along with my MIL, BIL and 2 nieces (12). This is my 5th Disney cruise and since it looks like you're a real Disney fan you will have a blast!

I have just finished running around after everyone, the girls are home, they've had their dinner, school uniform is in the washing machine and I'm going to chill, relax, watch TV and DIS this evening (yay !!)
Enjoy a quiet evening Mandy...it sounds like you deserve it after your busy day!

Danielle...I'm so happy to hear that Keegan is feeling so much better! Enjoy your trip to Disney! The only hard part with only bringing carry ons is the TSA regulations now since you can't bring any big bottles like sunscreen with you. You can buy it when your down there though.

Have a good evening everyone!
