2008/2009 Swap Calendar updated to pg 23

I was just looking to see if there was going to be another resort swap this year and I don't see one, unless DisneyIsTerrific's "Beyond the parks" is going to include that? I definitely need more stuff for resorts, so if it wasn't going to be included in DIT's swap, would there be interest in a separate swap? I could host if needed.

I hadn't noticed that we didn't have a separate swap for resorts this year. I hand't planned to have resorts in the Outside the Parks, but I'll be happy to add it in there. They would fit in that category! NEE, it's up to you. If you want to host a resort swap, then go for it. If not, I'll add it to my Outside the Parks swap.

I sent today.* I know it's extremely late, but at least it is on its way now.* Sorry about that, Vicki.I got back from Disney and ended up working extra shifts at the hospital, and never got around to doing it.* Today is my only day off this week, so I did the book and sent it on its way.

Having done both a outside the parks swap and the resort swap in the past I highly recomend making this 2 swaps- the resort swap has about 18 groups alone- I did them with up to 10 in each- that without outside the parks stuff is enough. In the last outside the parks swap I believe there were about 10 groups of 5-6 in each so I would say keep them seperate although i will join both and could save postage it is not worth the work for the hostess.

I'm glad to hear Rebecca's take on it since she has exact experience with both swaps. I know the resort one can be a beast if there are a lot of participants. So I'm game for hostessing.

I would run it almost exactly like Rebecca's swap last year (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1707742) unless there are any objections because I liked it so much - set colors for each resort so everything matches well. I've used so much from that swap already, and what I haven't used is only because I don't want it all to be gone.

I just need someone else to tell me when is a good time in the calendar. I'd rather not wait until the fall, if possible.

I would say end of June for sign-ups and sometime in September for a due date if you don't want to wait for fall.

I liked how Rebecca had it last year, although I didn't participate since I was in pre-cruise swap hiatus. I was also wondering if we might have "suggested" Bazzill colors. Not that it would be required to use Bazzill, but if a swapper were to use Bazzill, it would be nice if the colors matched. With Michaels carrying the Fourz line now, that might be a good starting point?

THis is a good question. Can anyone confirm? Did the surprise swap get moved to August or are we having two?

THe date listed in the calendar should be the sign up date. If you would like to get your feet wet on something general, we have an Epcot swap opening on April 6th. It will have general anything Disney groups specifically for newbies. However, there is no need to restrict yourself to newbie groups -- you are welcome to join whatever group you like.

I am guessing that the surprise swap in April will be cancelled and we will just have one in June- our hostess is on a bit of a swap hiatus due to some things happening in her life.

I think that's a good idea. I'll take some time over the next couple of months to look at my swatches and come up with some ideas. And I'll gladly take any suggestions for colors that others have as well.

I'm trying to put together dates for the cruise swap (finally!) and I'm thinking of maybe signups in early June with a due date in mid August. Would that work?

I hope she is doing well. If a Surprise Swap is desired right now, I will gladly volunteer to host it. My summer has now taken a different direction (first thought I would have some free time, then was told that I have to take two courses, and now back to having free time - and lots of it!) And I love the surprise swaps. I would change it ever so slightly, but liked the way the last one was hosted.

Any thoughts? As Surina asked, are the swap goddess okay with me hosting it? If now is not a good time, I am cool with that. But I love doing the Surprise Swap and would gladly host for all - especially the newbies.
