2007 Transatlantic and First Med cruises thread

It is good to hear from everyone! We just got off the Mexican Rivera 10th Anniversary of the Disney Magic cruise. We had a great time with Ken and Shari and Staci, Alex and Carolyn, and Laurie, Michael and Quincy (Q's my Princess). We are getting ready for the 5 day double dip the first of Sept, right after the DL 1/2 marathon (Alex and Carolyn are also doing the half marathon, then flying to Orlando that evening to catch the Magic!) We have just signed up for the 3-day Wonder 10th Anniversary Cruise on Aug. 13, 2009 - this replaced the Tortola Cruise we had to cancel due to a nephews graduation. Hope to see some of you at DL during the 1/2 marathon, and hope to see some of you at WDW after the 5 day cruise - we will be at Animal Kingdom Lodge for the weekend after.

It sounds like fun:goodvibes I am glad you got to have a good time with a great group. I am curious, did DCL do ANYTHING to celebrate the 10th anniversary?

Nothing big. They talked about it before the show. And they had a limited selection of 10 year merchandise (shot glass, a few pins), and they had a Happy Anniversary cake at the door of the dining rooms. The biggest thing done was not done by DCL. Alex and Carolyn (first timers) had special buttons made for everyone on the ship and we had a group go around and put them on everyones Fish.

Ken

There was also a 10th anniversary Christmas ornament - we saw only one and grabbed - it might have been the last one!

Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Wonder why they didn't make a big deal about the cruise? How was the new dining rotation? We are definitely looking forward to our cruise in September.

We had PLLAPLA @ 6:00pm. It worked fine. You will have to get an answer from Scott and Lynn since this was their first time at early dinner.

We kinda liked it, due to we had no shore stuff planned htat we had to run back from

So do you happen to know....were the three rotation options:
PLLAPLA (the one you got)
APPLAPL
LAAPLAP

????

We are trying to guesstimate at what the rotation options on our Double Dip are going to be in Sept. and try to avoid the rotation that has us in Animator's on night #4 (because we ALL have Palo that night.....me and Jason, NHDisneylover, Hoagie Pie, Scoobypop, etc.)

I would assume that those are all the rotations. But what they will do on the Double Dip is anyones guess.

I am so glad you guys had a great time. I know DCL had said they weren't going to do much but I do think it odd they really didn't. Hurray for the button makers though:thumbsup2 Always good to maek your own fun:goodvibes

Ken, thank you for the info. on the dining rotations. So, Erik can you figure out the best rotation to ask for (assuming it is the same as they had) and tell us all what to call and request? I am too tired to read through the all the letters and make sense of them (my neoghbor is very ill and I have had her 6 year old all day--she is having her first ever over night at our house tonight:eek: and she is a busy kid--I have no idea how Deanna does her kids because three is pushing my limits:confused3 :rotfl: )

Oh Hadley, don't be silly!! I've alraedy emailed our TA and told her exactly which rotation to try to get you, us, chris & rob, and sandi's family into....i got us TOTALLY covered!

I think it will work out well if we do the rotation starting in Lumiere's (which honestly is where Jason and i usually end up starting anyway because i was told that often adult couples with no kids start there). Then we'll have LAAPLAP.....which means we'll only get one night in Parrot's, which I know you like, but I promise we'll eat lunch there several times to make up for it! :)

Stop by our thread for the Aug 13, 2009 cruise. It's just getting started.

Thanks

Cayla--there is a sticky at the top of the meet threads which lists all the upcomming cruise meet threads in ORDER with the links to the threads. I was so excited when I relaized that (which was only a couple of days ago):thumbsup2

The last time I looked, the Wonder 10th anniversary thread was not on that sticky, I do not know how they get there, but that is where I started when we first scheduled that cruise.

Welcome back guys. Jonathan cycled over there to see if he could see you come in,but can't see the ship from his path.

We love the early dinner because we can sit and relax at the show while we are so stuffed to the gills. And then when the next buffet comes out 4 hours later we're only mostly full instead of stuffed. :rotfl:
