2007 Transatlantic and First Med cruises thread

HI Juergon! It is good to see you posting and I enjoyed the photos on your website (and trying to guess at the German:rotfl2: ) also hi to??Anna? Beofre the TA I worked REALLY hard on learning people's REAL names instead of screennames so I would know hwat to call you onboard. Now I am finding I am not SURE which real name goes with your screen (though I DO remember who you are--lovely lady, beautful daughters--someone had an ear infection on board. . .) so my apologies if I messed it up:flower3:

BTW--we DID book the 12/05/09 crusie. Soooo if any of my favourite cruisers want to jump onboard:rolleyes1 There could seriously not be a btter group to sail with:dance3:

Hadley - I think Debbie made a little book up. I will see if I can locate and scan it then post it (hmmm...note to self - try to find the little book....)

We also are on an Aug 2009 cruise - 4 day. Not sure that will be the final date. We were trying for the anniversary cruise, but DCL says they are not planning anything.

I will see if I can get those dates (hunny's mom is doing that booking) I am managing the F&W for this year.

:rotfl2: As I was typing I was thinking how much I wanted to be able to pop on over to the webstite Deb had made that listed us all. I can't tell you how many times I used to check it just to be sure I was spelling a name correctly back pre cruise:) If you find the booklet and scan it that would be wonderful.

Actually it was Linda (Seaulater) who made up the little booklet that listed us all by screenname, name & cabin....and then also had all the schedules and important dates etc. in it.

I don't personally have mine anymore either I don't think...but maybe if Padalyn can't find it then we can ask Linda if she still has it. She's aboard the Magic right now if I'm not mistaken along with Ken and Scott & Lynn and a bunch of other alumni from our fabulous cruise!

It is so good to hear from everyone and see everyone posting with such energy. I love it - you are like my second family and it is good to hear from everyone. We all sound so busy too. Cayla - school sounds exciting - hang in there and hopefully you can make the next cruise. Kelly - I just ordered stuff from beach linens.com - they have a bunch of cool stuff on there you might like and I didn't think it was that expensive. I really hope we can all take another amazing cruise soon. We are looking forward to the one in September, with some of the ole crew, but it will never be the same as the TA. Chris, I agree with you, there will never be another disboard like this one. Hope you all have fun and we will keep posting!!!

Debbie you are the BEST:hug: and Hey I was right about Anna's name:woohoo: Seriously though Debbie, Erik, Sandi, Chris and I have been missing your total understanding of how to be organized but not so much so that it because a hassle something fierce!!! I honestly wish I could only be a part of meet threads you are running these days:rotfl2: Our meet thread for September has an impossible to navigate "mini" DIS for a website--with no easy way to find info and the have pages and pages of rules for fish extenders:eek: I cannot tell you how often us TAers have emailed each other essentially saying "we miss Debbie":dance3:

You are so kind :)

I have heard about Fish Extender rules on that thread and others.  :rolleyes1 :sad2: And to this day I am still amazed how they have taken off!! The intent was to have a gift for some friends and have someplace to keep other little gifts. With no expectation of anything in return.

The website I do visit on occasion to remember all my TA friends

Well, I can tell you that on the PC they had Fish Teams that were organized by days of delivery. It didn't work. Some teams spent way too much money and couldn't get themselves organized once they were onboard (making each other mad.) It lost the sweetness of the surprise and simplicity. The little notes were so nice, it didn't have to be a big hoohaa.

I'm glad to see you post! We thought of you yesterday as the earth was moving beneath your feet!!! :goodvibes

Hi Disboard Friends!! It was so nice to check my mail this morning and find a message from this thread. When I don't have a cruise coming up I tend to get lazy about checking the board. It was so good to catch up on everyone's lives. I did get messages from Erik, Hadley, and Kelly yesterday so it felt like old times. So glad Kelly and family survived the LA earthquake. Aiden, my grandson, was so concerned when they showed Disney engineers checking all the rides at Disneyland. We certainly enjoyed our trip to Disneyland in May and spending a day with Kelly and Zoe. Aiden counts Zoe as a girlfriend now. It was so good to see so many in May at Mickey's World and at the race. Now we have more disfriends coming in September. It will be fun to see everyone. Also looking forward to seeing folks in October and December. Those dates are on my calendar. Yes, I agree with everyone that the trip across the pond was a very special trip - mostly because of all the wonderful people aboard. Ken's lanyards were the BEST and Deb and Lynn did so much for all of us along with a lot of others. I still have my Mickey door decoration and my fishnet. I still think of that huge chocolate bar with the picture of the ship on it - do you think I like chocolate or what??? Whenever I think of the programs I always remember the First Timers and how great it was that she got to dance on stage. I still think of DeAnna and her fantastic family winning all the family games - especially the potato race. I remember breakfast in PJs and tea with Susie. I remember standing on the upper deck watching the fantastic fireworks in Barcelona with lots of disfriends Oh enough of my wonderful memories. Jurgen, welcome to Florida. I have a big race at Cape Coral in December - I've never been there before so hope it will be a fun time. Hope to see everyone in Epcot sometime. Anna

Funny you should mention the chocolate bar!! Before my cheerleading squad went to Nationals this past March (which we won, by the way! :cheer2: ) I made customized wrappers for chocolate bars and gave every one of my girls a candy bar with our team logo, our team photo and their name on it as well as the "lyrics" from one of the cheers in our routine. The chocolate bars were a huge hit with the girls!! :rotfl2:

My brother (from Illinois) and family was in LA on Monday and Tuesday. His oldest daughter has moved to Burbank (employed as an animation artist with Nickelodean). We decided to go to DL on Monday. I'm sure glad we made that decision (as opposed to Tuesday). Without rushing around, we managed to see pretty much everything. They have made several trips to WDW, but this was their first DL trip.

The funny thing was that he was quizzing me on earthquakes. I guess he had his questions answered first hand on Tuesday. He was on the 12th floor of the hotel when it hit.

HI everyone.

Susie--I am GLAD you are all safe and that you had such a nice day together at DL.

Anna--nice to see you posting. I will try to PM you again tonight (I just got home--we were gone all day, and I ma still getting used to budgeting time when I work:cutie: ). Even if I do not PM you we are thinking of you and are so excited to see you NEXT MONTH.

Debbie--The Fish Extenders when we were on the TA with you were just what you meant them to be. Everything was casual and fun and no one (that I knew of anyway) was EXPECTING anything and htey were up much more for hte joy of giving than receiving. I still treasure many of the items which popped into our FE (and onto our door) like the notebook from you that Marika had out just last week as she uses it for her "cruise notes" and my bookmark from Kelly, etc. It is sad to see that ruined and become a big production on some threads. Us TAers are basically ignoring the rules and doing what we want to do anyway so the spirit is still there among some of us.

Missing you all . . .

LOL - I must have been the only one in Southern California that didn't even feel the earthquake. Near as I can tell (from the timing) is that I was crossing a bunch of rough railroad tracks at the time and that is probably why I didn't notice it. A few minutes later I arrived at my destination and everyone was talking about the earthquake and I'm going "what earthquake?".

Now THAT is funny:rotfl2:

We STILL have the candy bar right out on my kitchen counter, in this little treat basket we keep there. We see it every single day, and pick it up to read it at least once a month, and say "Remember this?" As if we could forget! In my Passporter, I still use Milestogo's bookmark that was placed in my fish extender. And I KNOW the name is changed to edna mode and I know the reason--but just wanted to show Hadley, we STILL refer to all the TA disboard friends by the screen names, like it or not! Hoagie Pie is Hoagie Pie, plain and simple. We just mentioned Scott H the other day. DizzneyDAnn, would we have it any other way? Cupcake mentioned she would probably be sorry she chose that name, but we can't help but call her Cupcake. Padalyn, Jeurgen, kpros, epcotkilterfan, nanaguide, OH6. . .And yes, we DO know all your names. :cool2: It's just so nice to have this board to come back to. Thanks everyone for your posts!

I am laughing so hard I am crying - to all the wonderful people out there - Debbie, Hadley, Erik, Chris, Anna, Suzie, Ken, Scott, Kelly, Cayla, Deanna, etc, and I don't mean to leave ANYONE out - LET'S CRUISE AGAIN!!!!!!!!! You guys are so right about the FE's - I have given up unfortunately for this next cruise, but I have my dear TA buddies that are on my special list. Anna and Suzie - it was so good to hear from the both of you on the thread. I just sent cupcake an e-mail and told her to get back on the thread. I will see her in October! Anna - we live so close - would love to see you again too. Hope everyone has a great week. Abby's birthday is Tuesday so we have a big week planned. We are staying at AKL next weekend for the birthday and very excited about it. Keep posting, I really love smiling and laughing!:yay: :yay: :yay:
