2007 Transatlantic and First Med cruises thread

Actually...yes... quite a few people have cancelled.....last I heard there are a number of tickets available for it now. I think that two factors of late have contributed to people dropping off.....the change in itinerary which disappointed a lot of folks AND the 90-day window when people had to be paid in full just passed over the weekend....so I think a number of people who might have had it booked as dummy dates or booked in the HOPES they would be able to go have cancelled or rescheduled.

(In fact I just checked at the DCL website and according to the site there are rooms in Cat. 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 still available)

If you are still thinking of getting aboard with us you should jump in.....and then hurry and let me know so I can make you some fabulous lanyards!! :thumbsup2

Erik - what are the dates for this cruise? (just curious - I am going to be at F&W for 3 weeks, but one can always find a reason for ANOTHER trip to Disney!)

Cayla

It's the 7-Night "Special" Western that sets sail on Sept. 27th. We get two days at sea, two days at Castaway Cay, and one day each in Grand Cayman and Cozumel. We return to the port on Sat. Oct 4th. Jason and I (& Hadley and her family) are all also goign to be in WDW from Sept. 19th through the sail date on the 27th.

We are really looking forward to it!

I haven't been posting in a while and when I read the posts tonight you have all made me smile! Missed everyone! DizzneyDAnn, PLEASE book a cruise. We would love to see you! Cayla, you too, Erik made some great lanyards and we all have late seating. It will be like old times. For everyone coming to visit in the fall, we will be here so please let us know. In fact, Darrell has a conference at the Boardwalk starting September 7th so we are staying for the week. Please let us know if anyone will be in town then, I was thinking maybe Scott and Lyn. I don't know the exact dates of the 5 day cruise. We have sold both of our houses, so I am a lot less stressed (of course I am speaking before the last one closes on Tuesday) but we are very happy to get out of this stinky market. I WILL NEVER MOVE AGAIN!!!! BilboUK, it was great to see your post too and hope you had a wonderful PC cruise. I enjoyed getting together at Saratoga before your trip. Darrell and I love living here all the time, but especially between September and December because we get to see all our friends from the Trans cruise. Hope everyone had a happy Fourth!!!

hmmm - well I am going to be at WDW from Oct 14 to Nov 3. I will have to see if I can swing the cruise. I would be going solo I think.

I am also trying to figure out when to get to Vegas for the new Cirque show with Criss Angel.

thanks for the dates!

I'm so excited....DVC announced that on 8/10/08 they'll start taking reservations to check into the new AKL DVC buildings ("Kidani Village") for check-ins starting on May 1st, 2009.....WELL...we already have reservations at AKL from May 1-May 10, 2009 for the anniversary trip with my parents....but I'm SO calling on 8/10/08 to put in a special request to have our reservation booked into Kidani rather than the Jambo House! :cheer2:

I was wondering when they were going to be taking bookings for Kidani Village. The timing on that couldn't be better.

I will be in WDW, but leaving on the 8th. I will be staying at Pop, so if the timing works out for you let me know!
Hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend!

We should be at AKL from Sept 6 until the 8th, if you get in early enough on the 7th, we could meet - we will be headed out early on the 8th.

Anyone want to get together for dinner 8/29 or 8/30 at Disneyland. I'd be happy to put it together and we'd love to see everyone. Anna and I will be doing the 5K. Zoe is doing the kids race.

Sounds like a good idea Kelly. Shari is doing the half - so we will be around for the night of the 30th. We will have to work something out.

We wanna come! (of course we won't be in California then, so we can't...but I thought I'd at least voice my wish that we could be there with everyone! :thumbsup2 )

Fly in, eat, fly out! Of course, you have to do a 5K in between!:lmao:

Count me in! Friday would work better for Curt.

Boo hoo! I won't get in until late on the 7th because we have a friend visiting from Orange County, CA! Maybe nextg time, I don't like to miss anyone. Dinner with Kelly and the gang sounds great. I am sure it will be fun. Good for Zoe with the run. Let us know how she does. Does the cruise leave Monday morning the 8th?

Or have a shotgun wedding! :rotfl: If we came to CA we'd end up getting married....and we're really trying to hold out in hopes that NY gets it's darn act together soon!!:thumbsup2

We have another couple coming in Chicago (from the PC cruise) getting married. We're having a reception with all the Dis cruise folks. It's the wedding capital right now. As you drive around town there are signs like, "Weddings here, all are welcome!"

Fabulous! Of course it's very exciting...and like I said, we would be there in a second to do it....especially because NY state's governor announced just 4 weeks ago that NY State MUST start recognizing all legal out of state marriages, including same sex marriages. So if we got married in CA, when we returned to NY we WOULD be legally married here---we just can't GET married here....YET. Jason and I (and activists here) really do believe that marriage will become a reality here in NY STate in the near future (especially in light of the recent edict from the governor...since many NY State couples are already running to Canada and California for legal marriages and so NY is going to find itself with tons of legal same-sex marriages anyway...and so not actually just granting marriage licenses within the state will seem a futile endeavor)....that's why we're waiting before we run off to CA or Canada to get married......we'd really like to do it at home (and then have a big fabulous Disney ceremony at WDW!)....but we'll see how the future unfolds!

Erik, I hope you and Jason are able to get married in your own state soon. I'd love to be be a part of the festivities, so I could throw pixie dust (instead of rice!) at the end. You are a sweet couple.

Thanks! That's very sweet of you to say!

I think this would work for us, Sounds good to me. We will not have park passes so outside the parks works best for us. Simple and fun is good,

Thanks,
