Has everyone coming out to DL for the marathon made their plans? Who is doing the 5K? and who is doing the marathon?

Jason and I (and Hadley's whole family) are going to be there from Sept. 19th through Sept. 27th....so we're going to miss you guys, too! I know that Sandi and Darrell (Hoagie Pie) are going to come up for a couple of days and hang with us...and Chris and Rob (Scoobypop) are coming in on the 25th and then we're all going on a cruise until Oct. 4th.

Are any of our other TransAtlantic friends going to be there then? We'll probably try to touch base with some of C.M. friends at the world to see if anyone is going to be around. We'd love to see anyone we can!

Hi everyone, I haven't posted in a bit, but was getting ready for the EB PC and was thinking of the last long one we were on. Truly one of the best trips I have ever had!
Kelly, your pics make me really excited!

I am sad I will miss those in WDW in Sept/Oct. I will be staying after for free dining after the cruise from Sept 1-8. Maybe I will see those on the 5 day outside the terminal as we are being dragged off?

Littleowensmommy just asked me if how you were doing. There was a lot of speculation on the ship about the next first cruise, but nobody knew anything except that a ship would be on the west coast.

Hope all is well on the east coast.

Tell her I'm fine...busy as usual!!! We got the boat in the lake today for the first time. She took off like a charm, no problems at all (whew....) well, ok a dead battery that wouldn't take a charge...

I managed to luck out and get a slip at the marina we both really like, so Gryl's Pride has a summer home! I figure now that she has a slip I will be able to just shoot up to the lake to take her out - no more trailering.

Working like a demon - just got back from 19 days at WDW. Our flight home was canceled, so the 12 points that landed in holding were used for the extra night. Unfortunately we had used resort luggage check - our bags were in Newark and we weren't

We were on seperate flights and Stacey made it home just in time for the family emergency that happened. I was late to work that night - after being up from 6am working all night was not fun. It took me a couple of days to get to sorting myself out but all is back on schedule now!

another words - life as usual!

Yeah....unfortunately they changed our itinerary so that we're not stopping in Costa Maya anymore (it's still not ready after the hurricane that hit it last year). They changed our port to Grand Cayman instead....lots of our fellow cruisers are upset and disappointed because that isn't a "special" port....apparently the ship goes there all the time----but Jason and I have never been there before so we're still excited about it.

Tonight at midnight we get to book our excursions and spa and Palo actually....hooray hooray fun fun fun!!

Where did you stay for 19 nights? We've been wondering if we stayed for a long stay where we'd go and what we want to try now that we've experienced OKW a few times.

Actually I stayed at OKW! I usually try to stay at VWL or BWV. I found the busses worked out really well from OKW, but I was alone for the first week and found the lack of a couch a disappointment. The chair doesn't work for me, and sitting on the bed to read was uncomfortable....oh well.

I find for the long stays without a car, the resorts that have direct busses to the parks means less lost time. Beach Club & Boardwalk have a long loop the busses make (all the Epcot resorts) before heading to the parks.

Wilderness Lodge the boats are really neat, but I have found the wait to get to AK can be long - that resort seems to be the last on the list

AKL has direct busses, more to AK than other parks of course. And SSR has direct busses also. The boats to downtown are nice, and one can go to OKW & Port Orleans by boat!.


The extra night was at SSR - we have stayed there before - the elevators make it much easier to get to the upper floors when hauling bags around. (Not our problem for that stay!)

I guess I like each resort for different reasons. I have stayed at AK, but not in the DVC rooms. Do you have specific questions? I am at Beach Club for 2 of my 3 weeks in Oct - at SSR for the last week.

The boat name was a funny thing - I was trying really hard to come up with something that would mean something to me, express who I am, but still not cause me to take any flak when boating in areas where my lifestyle would/could create an issue. The spelling is specific of course! I really have to take some pictures of her...the name is on the sides and is in a sort of rainbow...the artist had good artwork - he messed it up. No red at the top and the purple is sorta grey.

Jason and I really wanted to do another Dec. trip to WDW...but we just can't afford it points or $$ this year, I don't think....we have our trip in Sept./Oct. and then we're doing a big trip with my parents in May where we're basically using all our points and $$ to take them to WDW for 9 days and then on a 4-night on the Wonder to celebrate their 40th Anniversary.

I'm so excited....DVC announced that on 8/10/08 they'll start taking reservations to check into the new AKL DVC buildings ("Kidani Village") for check-ins starting on May 1st, 2009.....WELL...we already have reservations at AKL from May 1-May 10, 2009 for the anniversary trip with my parents....but I'm SO calling on 8/10/08 to put in a special request to have our reservation booked into Kidani rather than the Jambo House!

Yes I"m sorry....I thought I did post something about it on here!! I know I posted it somewhere...but I've become a DISing maniac and I'm on about 9 different threads now so it all gets jumbled up in my brain!! LOL

The walk was in early June and it raised over $90,000. I personally raised over $3700 and was the 3rd highest fundraiser (thanks to the generous support of folks like you!! )...plus this year I was on a team with some coworkers who also did well and our team came in #1!

Your ride is in the fall, right? You haven't done it yet?

Actually...yes... quite a few people have cancelled.....last I heard there are a number of tickets available for it now. I think that two factors of late have contributed to people dropping off.....the change in itinerary which disappointed a lot of folks AND the 90-day window when people had to be paid in full just passed over the weekend....so I think a number of people who might have had it booked as dummy dates or booked in the HOPES they would be able to go have cancelled or rescheduled.

(In fact I just checked at the DCL website and according to the site there are rooms in Cat. 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 still available)

If you are still thinking of getting aboard with us you should jump in.....and then hurry and let me know so I can make you some fabulous lanyards!!
