2007 NBA Finals Thread - Spurs vs. Cavaliers

Barenaked Ladies at The Plain Dealer Pavilion. :dance3:

I forgot they were coming this summer!! I'm officially jealous -- they're awesome in concert. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I'd love to be downtown for the games (even in the plaza), but with my wife out of town, it's me and the kids and I don't think she'd appreciate me taking a 2 and 6 year old downtown in the middle of that mayhem.

I really appreciate the way the Spurs play. Except for Manu's excessive flopping!

If you have a problem with Manu, you haven't seen anything yet until you've seen Andy Varajeo ;) :p

My neighbor is going to that concert, they are hoping the concert will be over before the game so they can get up to the plaza....

Two floppers will be interesting to see who flops the best...

Pretty much the whole Spurs team short of Duncan makes a habit of flopping. It's either players taking phantom charges or falling down on offense to try and get a call. I swear the coach must dedicate entire practice sessions to the topic.

Doesn't everyone just LOVE that IGNORE function? It really helps weed out those people who are constantly making something like a basketball series a reason to act so foul.

Cardaway, honey...if I was a Cavs fan, I don't think I'd want you rooting for my team.

SPURS in 7.

At least I was posting about the teams and players rather than the people posting in the thread. :rolleyes1

Don't try to ice this over AS IF you've been acting kind. This is the second thread where you've constantly personally attacked Spurs players...and quite honestly, your behavior is really getting old to the rest of us who enjoy talking about the game and the sport. It's fine to root for your team, but it is bad form to act the way you've been acting.

I rooted for the Cavs in the Eastern Conference because I think they are a worthy opponent. And now I will root for my team...the same team that made me love the game.

I want to head to the plaza after the concet too, but I will be with a bunch of non-Cavs fans. :(

THK - I think I just may use your banner. I love it. :)

Go Cavs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Spurs have been sitting too long. We have the momentum!

No problem LoraJ!!!

So who do you guys think the bigggest threat on teh Spurs will be?
I think it will be Manu...if he's hot, he's hard to stop.

Assuming we're factoring in Duncan and LeBron pretty much negating each other (in terms of points), I agree, Manu's the guy who the Cavs need to try to stop. And he's going to be a hard matchup for the Cavs, IMO, but they do have a couple tough matchups to deal with as well, like Z, assuming he's hitting that 15 foot "jump" (yeah, like he jumps :lmao: ) shot. :thumbsup2

Lol...Z jumping!

yeah I wasn't counting Duncan as he'll get his points no matter what you do just like Lebron.

Z also has that hook that he was hitting before but dissapeared in the Detroit series.

I think Hughes/gibson will have no problem with Parker.

it's the Manu vs Sasha match up that scares me.

I agree with Manu. He can hit shots and get people in foul trouble. I also wonder when Finley will show back up. If that ever happens is could also be a problem for the smaller Cavs guards.

Personally I think Z (jump or no jump) will be a huge factor. Offensive rebounds could really kill the Spurs and he excells at frustrating the opposing teams front line. I can't see the Spurs front line doing any better than the Pistons did in keeping Z and the rest of the big guys from getting the advantage on the boards, and once again that will (IMO) be the difference and get them the series.

very good point Cardaway!

Z, Andy, and Drew do bang the boards hard...and your right who's gonna stop them??? Duncan is their big inside and he's a scorer and not a rebounder.

I don't know about this matchup being "no problem". I think Parker's going to give the Cavs some headaches, but between Hughes, Gibson and even a little Eric Snow, I hope they can keep Tony relatively contained (e.g. under 20 points a game).
