2007 International Food & Wine Festival (Marketplace Booth Details Now Available!)

Not sure what we will do. I am not paying $210pp to do something at the Odyssey so the EE are out. We did a Regional Fest there last year and while it was fun the atmosphere is kind of run down and gross. Even with the decorations. The Jiko Signature meal is a lunch and the same price as the dinners ($155) so that is probably out. So I think PFTS and the South African Wine Event (only decent price I see.) We may spring for the Brewers Tale too. Anyone do that last year?

Thank you for posting the info on what apprears to be available!!!!

This sounded interesting :
South African Wine Event
10.12
World Show Place
6:30pm-9pm
$75
Wines from 40 vineyards, food from the AKL, roraring entertainment

Ouch, party for the senses would cost us $270 plus tax (didnt know what the tax rate was in FL) I guess you only live once right?!?!?! (Means I book that one on Mom's credit card and pay her cash, Dh enjoys himself when he doesnt know the cost.)

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!

I expected the PftS to be $150, so I guess I'm happy to see it only went up $10 from last year... it's still expensive, though...

Thanks again!!!

EDIT: OMG!!! We get Colette Peters for our Sweet Sundays!!! We LOVE her!!!

The Food and Wine Pairings are $45 this year:( Remeember 2 years ago they were $35!

The Wine Schools and Vertical Wine tastings are back. I can post info for those as well if anyone wants. I put quick descriptions since most are repeats!

If you have any information on these events I would love to see it. Thanks.

Thank you so much for the info....my DW and I have been anxiously waiting for info to plan for our trip to F&W Fest this year.

Yes - please put up info about the vertical tastings if you have it!

Thanks again

Thank you very much, PatriciaH! :yay: That is so helpful! :thumbsup2

OMG - look at my timer!

Yes!!! Also, please post about vertical wine tastings and anything else you have. I loved the one I did last year.

Bnormant -

Please tell me about the tastings you did last year. Would consider going if worth it......

Does anyone know who Will Goldfarb is? He's at the Sweet Sunday that I might be booking, but I've never heard of him before.

I did a vertical wine tasting that included 2 wineries which were working together; Antinori and Chateau St. Michelle. They did a vertical tasting of 6 different years for the same wine for both wineries. That was 12 almost full glasses of wine. It was expensive, but for the knowledgable presenters and the quality of the wines, it was well worth it IMHO. It was great to compare the two wines against each other, and also notice the sometimes big differences in the same wine with just a different vintage.

We'll definatly be going to a Party for the Senses. $270 though. The last time I attended it was only $95. Oh well, it should be worth it. That'll be almost $290 though with the tax, and another $70 almost with the Sweet Sunday I want to attend. There's another $400 for my trip. At least it's payday tomorrow. ;)

We are planning the same thing. Although we've done PFTS, I'm not sure what Sweet Sunday is all about.
Any insight?

Thanx... :smokin:

I would like info on the Food & Wine Pairings too if you can post those!

We went to the one with Keegan Gerhard last year. Basically, he demonstrated how to make 3 different desserts that were also served with wine pairings. However, that's not all of it. When you first show up at the odyssey before the demonstration begins, you get a light brunch buffet.

This included fresh fruit and yogurt dip, bacon, sausage, potato wedges, and two types of frittata (ham and cheese, garden vegetable), as well as orange juice and coffee or tea. Along with the food, we were served champagne.

All in all a pretty good experience for the price and a nice start to the day.

Thank you very much, that sounds really good!
I just hope it won't be too much for the morning after PFTS..

That does sound good! I'm hoping that the times slide on that one before it is officially posted. I land at MCO at 8:30 on the 30th so I don't think I can guarantee I can make it to Epcot by 10:30. :(
