2007 International Food & Wine Festival (Marketplace Booth Details Now Available!)

OH NO! I was hoping to try the Brilliant Bubbles Exquisite Evening this year. I guess there is still hope because it looks like there is no EE listed for the first weekend. Keeping my fingers crossed.

what and where is this ? have never heard it and its not listed on any of the menus pages?

I'm guessing it is the private dining/corporate lounge area in the Living Seas aka The Seas With Nemo and Friends.

Thanks for all this great information! My husband and I will be down there for a few nights over Columbus Weekend. Can anyone tell me about the Party for the Senses? I understand that you pick choose a menu and sit in that area. Are you served set courses or do you go up and choose? Are there lots of courses or just a few? Wine is paired with each course?

Any information is much appreciated. :)

P4TS is not a sit down dinner.

It's run a little bit like the food booths around World Showcase, but the food is much more upscale. They have stations where the chefs prepare samplings of their dish, which is usually a unique creation. You can go back for as many samplings as you want. Same for the wines. They'll give you a wine glass to use, and you take it home.

There are tables, but they're meant for sitting while you graze on your food samples. You won't be assigned a seat and it's pretty much every person for themselves. Groups usually pick a table and some stay at the table while the others roam around and get food, then they switch.

Yay! I'm very excited to see some of these events! I'm really intrigued
by the South African wine thing, and I'm happy that I can attempt to book
this during my stay. Now I have to do some serious thinking about what
my first choices are, prioritize what I should book first, and have backup
plans in case they sell out before I have a chance to book. :)

First. Thanks for posting all the information.

Obviously I don't know for sure, but it would be strange that the Sea Salon is the Lounge at the Living Seas. Based on the preliminary schedule, both the Sea Salon and Coral Reef have Pairngs on Thursday and Friday

Thanks PatriciaH for all the info. Makes me feel better about what we have planned. Just can't wait to call on the 6th and get everything set! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info. I need to print it out & ponder. PftS is definately a must, even tho that price tag is starting to smart.

I'd really like to do a wine school. Spain is the Wine School during my trip, which is perfect since I've been really into Spanish Reds lately. :cool1: I just miss the Charles Krug Vertical and the South African Wine event, which I am tempted to alter my travel arrangements for....

I really wish they'd release this infor sooner. I would have booked different dates based on the schedule. I wish the powers that be would realize that some of us are very serious about Food & Wine, as or more serious than some folks are about the Candlelight Processional

I'm sad that there are no tea tastings at Twinings through October. I did that last year and really enjoyed it. I was hoping hubby could join me this year.

Thanks Nala. This sounds like something we'd like! I'm assuming they don't announce the menus beforehand and you find out when you get there? I think I'd have to get there an hour early just to make up my mind which one I'd like.

They let everyone in at the start time, so getting there early won't help too much. Although you do get a menu handed to you when they let you into the waiting area of the World Showplace, so you would have a few minutes to ponder before the festivities begin. Its a great experience. Even my kids enjoy it (they are given Mickey sippy cups instead of wine glasses). Its a little pricey of a night out (for our family anyway with 4 going), but well worth it IMHO. ;)

We are planning the same thing. Although we've done PFTS, I'm not sure what Sweet Sunday is all about.
Any insight?

Thanx... :smokin:

MG
This is what I know about the event, someone who's been to one before would probably be able to say more. But, Sweet Sundays are held every Sunday during the Food and Wine Festival, there're two each Sunday, a morning one (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM) and one in the early afternoon (12:00 PM - 2:00 PM.) (I'll be booking the earlier one since I have a 4:00 PM dinner ADR at Le Cellier, and that would be cutting it too close (as far as my appetite goes,) if I book the later one.) Anyway, there's a "light" breakfast - brunch buffet, though Disney's version of light is way different then my version of light, from what I've learned.

Anyway, there is a chef each Sunday, and he prepares three different desserts, which are then served along with three wines. I'm sure it's a lot more interesting then I'm making it sound, but that's generally what it is. Since I haven't been to one yet, I can't give an actual review.

Thank you very much, that sounds really good!
I just hope it won't be too much for the morning after PFTS..

MG
That's one of the reasons I'm glad I have two weekends in Disney, the first weekend I'll be doing Sweet Sunday, the next weekend I'll be doing Party for the Senses.

Thanks for all the info Patricia! Now I just need to see how to best work my budget!!

Exactly right! Your problem was having to book without knowing the schedule, thus missing events you'd like to attend; ours was that we held off booking (making plane, hotel, dining ressies much more difficult), trying to plan around events we know we'd like to attend.

Thanks so much for posting the info, Patricia. As far as I'm concerned, you should be put in charge of the F&W festival!! And I think we should continue to email Disney with our concerns about this late release of info--and especially question (if true) why concierge has it now but no one else? (um...have I mentioned the word "incompetence" with regard to the handling of this before?)

Thanks again for the info; very good of you to share it. Going off to pick a date/make ressies now! (and just in time--hubbie was in full revolt and right on the verge of deciding to just forget the whole thing).

The Seas Salon is also known as the Living Seas Salon. It's normally used for corporate functions, weddings, and other private functions.

It appears that Disney will offer Food & Wine Pairings in two different parts of The Seas pavilion this year. That's good news because it means that there will be more overall capacity.

I don't know if the Seas Salon shares a kitchen with Coral Reef or has its own kitchen. In any case, there shouldn't be a problem with kitchen capacity because Seas Salon is capable of serving dinners when Coral Reef is also serving its full dinner menu -- so there shouldn't be a problem making appetizer portions in the afternoon.

Presumably there will be different chefs and different wineries at the Pairing at the the Seas Salon and Coral Reef.

It will be interesting to see more details about the Pairings at the Seas Salon. Will they have a different theme than those at the Coral Reef?

I would love to get the pairing in the Seas Salon! I have seen pictures from a coworkers wedding reception and it looked amazing!!
