2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

I am just hoping the my clothes aren't too big for me by the cruise. I may do a quick shopping just before if I can.

Has anyone done the "fish extenders" before? How well did it go over and what type of goodies did you exchange with other "fishy" people? I like the idea and think it would be lots of fun!! I am thinking right now of going to the fabric store to get going on this project.

We've brought our "fish extender" on our last couple of cruises. Just another thing that makes it easy to find out room.

As for gifts - our gift to everyone is the buttons we do so we haven't done anything more than that and we give those away at the meets.

On past cruises some of the things given as gifts (again more at the meets) have been pens, little memo boards, pedicure sets, and lots of other fun stuff. Last year one of the DISers (I believe Jeff) left us a bunch of the DVC coasters in our fish extender and we've also gotten some notes left in ours.

Kay and Linda can tell everyone the history of them as I believe they started on the first repo cruise.

I checked on ebay and could only find ones for sale that were outside the US. I recommend checking target, walmart or office supply stores near you.

You can also call it a hanging wall pocket organizer

Hi Everyone,

Only 39 days left until the cruise. I cant wait.

Mary- Back in July or Aug you posted the dates they updated us last year, do you still have this information? It seems like they should be updating us soon.

Kay- How is your DD dog? Just before your last cruise wasn't she sick? Hope she is doing better. I was thinking about her today when is saw a little dog that looked like her picture.

I agree - we are not going to rent a tux or buy a gown. Dan will have slacks & a blazer & I have a flowered dressy skirt with a dressy blouse - that's it. Not going to buy clothes we'll never wear again!

Has anyone got the cruise or magical express packages yet?I thought on my last cruise it came 45 days before but I could be wrong.I start to worry about things when it starts to get close.I worry more about the transportation tags more then the cruise stuff.

Kay- How is your DD dog? Just before your last cruise wasn't she sick? Hope she is doing better. I was thinking about her today when is saw a little dog that looked like her picture.

thanks so much for asking:

she is doing so good. Walking around - and swims a lot in the pool. She did that before and the Vet said it would be real good for her. Can't jump up on the couch and out of the pool, but we take her out after she swims around for about 15 mniutes. She does this about 4 times a day and a lot on the weekends.

Amazing how she is doing so good. The final $$ figure for surgery and recovery costs was $3,600. But it was well worth it.

We received our ME last Saturday, however we didn't receive my cousins who is meeting us a week later.

here is one pic of her on Saturday - still looking for individual pics I took of her. I thought for sure I had some of her in the pool.

I leave in the morning about 7 am for WDW and VWL and then we will drive over to Pt. Canaveral on Thursday and get there about 10:30 'ish or so.

Gonna meet some friends from The Netherlands at Port Orleans tomorrow at 11 am for the first time.

I need this time on the ship with my sister. We have such good times together. Be back home Sunday afternoon.

EDITED: BTW - I got a notice from DVC that two families gave my name and they joined DVC and I got the cash incentive for them joining. What a complete and pleasant surprise. That made me so very happy.

Cute picture. If she is like my dogs she has to be in the middle of everything going on. This spring we repainted the interior of our house and all of the cats and dogs had paint from each room on them. Have a great time and enjoy the time with your sister and the suprise from DVC.

Yes Nancy and I are getting ths Disney express from the airport on the 19th to Disney World OKW Resort,and also on our return trip.We have used it before .They take care of your luggage and it delivered to your door at the resort.

Kay, your granddaughter is so adorable! That picture of her with the cake is precious. How fun!

Our vet recommended the pool as therapy for our dog as well. Makes sense, though. When I had my knee surgery years ago, the pool was one of the best exercises that helped. As long as the dog knows how to swim (and they all seem to know, don't they?) it's great for them. Glad your pup is doing well.

Well, my daughter won't be joining us in WDW for the first week we're there, but she'll fly over for the cruise. It'll be weird not having her there, but she doesn't want to fall too far behind in her college classes. I don't blame her - I'm proud that she came to that decision on her own.

I never heard of the fish extenders, but it sounds interesting. I'm game for whatever - I just like being "in the loop".

I didn't check in yesterday since my DD started her 1st day of Kindergarten - and it's full day too. I was crying all day like a dope!!! She was fine!!!
I found myself sitting around waiting until it was time to pick her up!!! Good grief!

dvcmomm. it doesn't get any easier. Every August when we take them to college I cry all the way home. Just enjoy the time when they are young it goes toooooooooo fast.

Yes, they started on the WB Panama Canal Crossing and were originated by EpcotKilterFan (Debbie) right here from the disboards. She bought them in Ohio (I think) and gave them as her sailaway gifts.

From then, the "fish extender" was born and has expanded from there. We have had "fish extender" contests where everyone makes their own and I own at least 2 of them now!

I do know that pahrumpgirl here on the disboards makes them, because she made them for all of us on the Sept 17, 2006 11 night Wonder cruise when we had the fish extender contest. You could PM Carol, she might have some premade that she would be willing to send you. We basically paid her for her cost for the materials and time for putting together.
