Hi everyone,

Our family is so excited to meet of everyone, it is our first DVC cruise so we are counting the days. My job is very busy at end of the year, so this vacation is exactly what I need before the year end rush.

Can someone confirm the where the dis meet is on the ship? The DCL bus does not pick us up until 12:15 on Sun. at The Swan so not sure if we will be coming aboard late and miss it. If we do, we'll catch up to meet, I am trying to keep track of many of the user names to be on the lookout for you.

Are there normally long lines later in the day during boarding?

I have a question regarding Handicapped boarding. My mom travels with a walker, what type of info will she need to get handicapped boarding?
Also using the elevators: How does this work?
I may just have us stay in the room but I want to know all my options

Hi Nan - nice to see you posting. Cheryl gave you the times of the DIS meets. I think by the time you are getting to the port you should have a fairly empty terminal and little or no wait to check in and board.

Hello everyone…thought I would post again since I see a few different people posting. THere are 8 of us so far that are sharing transportation from WDW to the POrt and back to WDW.

We have room for two more people.

The cost will only be $38.00 per person Round Trip (and that includes tip and pick up at different hotels - it could be cheaper).


The Round Trip would be:

WDW Resorts to PC Sunday the 21st – arriving at the port around 10:00
PC to WDW Resorts Thursday the 25th



So far we have people staying and going back to:
Animal Kingdom Lodge
Pop Century
Saratoga Springs
Beach Club
Coronado Springs.

No, there shouldn't be long lines. You should be able to get right off the bus, go through security and check in. Make sure to go online and fill out all your paperwork prior to, and print out the signature page of your contract and take the credit card with you that you use on-line. If you have all those handy and your passports or driver's license/birth certificates, my guess is you should be on the ship within 20 minutes of arriving at the port!

Last year, I brought my mom and sister along for the Member Cruise. My mom cannot stand for long periods of time. When we got to the port, we used a wheelchair so she could be more comfortable waiting. After the first family and the concierge level boarded, the handicapped passengers are allowed to board. That is when we boarded. You shouldn't have any problem boarding at that point.

Elevators: There are three sets of elevators: forward, midship, and aft. I am not sure what deck you are on, but the elevator system works pretty good. The only times there are holdups is during dinnertime, and when the shows in the Walt Disney Theater are either starting or ending. They seem to get pretty busy then. But your mom should be able to get around with no problems. There shouldn't be any reason you need to stay in the room.

The ship does have a couple of wheelchairs for emergency use only. However, they are not there for someone who "requires" a wheelchair for the entire voyage. When Kay (krdisneybound) gets back from her current cruise, she could give you wheelchair information if you need it since I know she has needed wheelchairs in the past. But her health has now improved significantly and she is travelling without her wheelchair now!

Wow, I am kind of surprised that we are about 5 weeks out and no announcement on who is crusing with us.

At the same time I can hardly believe it is only 5 weeks out.

It will be a nice mid break from my hectic school schedule.

Yes I recall Kay mentioned using the elevators during fire drill, which if she attends - she will definitely need. I think she'll be fine with her walker, she uses it in the parks all the time.

I got all the forms filled out and have made copies of the signature pages needed to check-in.We all have passports that we got last year before our Disney cruise in November.I dont remember what time we got there the last time but I remember waiting around for a while and I forgot what time we boarded.
Those who go alot what time does boarding start?
Im taking the DCL bus from the resorts (Animal kingdom Villas) for the first time so what time do we depart from the resorts?
I hear some people saying the bus don't come until 12:30 or so but that sounds a little late if the boat leaves at 4:00 and us not getting to the port between 1;30 ans 2:00 unless the boarding don't start until 2:00.
I remember us having a low number or letter for boarding our last cruise so we got on first but by the time we had some food the launch party was starting.maybe it was one of those times they came in late or had problems unboarding .

Good morning everyone!

Boarding usually happens around noon (give or take 1/2 hour). If memory serves me right most of the resort busses leave in the 11:30-12:30 range. It takes about an hour to get to the port. All aboard is at 4pm as that is when the safety drill is but sailaway isn't until 5.

In 2005 a number of us got there early before the main parking lot was open. They sent us over to the vendors lot to wait and we had an impromptu DIS meet. We missed the parking lot party last year as we were on the DIS party bus.
