2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

Hi All -

I am on the Wonder now for a family cruise (yes, I am a geek for bringing the laptop).

We are making our way out of port now and decided to relax on our veranda rather than do the launch party.

I promise to keep the ship safe for you and to make sure all the drinks are being made properly!

Hope you all have a fabulous week!

Wow, great photo's. Don't you just love the iphone. I was playing with one yesterday (We have verizon otherwise i would have one). How are the drinks are they up to Disney standards?:rotfl2:

Have a great cruise and keep us posted.

Amanda

Good morning everyone - happy Labor Day.

We have a web page update!

I have updated the web page to include a link to the offical DVC Member Cruise webpage. I've also added in the info and map for the Saturday DIS meet at the Beach Club.

The following additions have also been made to the Member Gallery:

danandnan - added in birthdays

alak2K - added in family info and picture

Disney Pappy - added in family info

skelly_wi - updated cabin assignment

Amanda & Annette - updated with Amanda's new DIS name

Important note: We are going to start working on buttons soon. If you are a lurker and haven't posted in a while you may be getting a pm from me to make sure you are still going on the cruise. We've found over the years that some people sign up early on and then have to cancel for whatever reason and sometimes don't come back to let everyone know. So if you get a pm from me please just respond and let me know. Or better yet post and let everyone know you are alive, well and still going! :)

The "drink of the day" yeserday was a Bahama Mama - very good, all the alcohol was at the bottom we discovered so I recommend stiring them up.

Today's lunch-time drinks were Turtle Bay (I beieve, it was Turtle something. I had two and so promptly forgot). Quite nice rum based drink, not too heavy on the fruit juice.

Always happy to report on the boat drinks. It will be tough but I think I can somehow force myself to keep testing them out to ensure they are up to standards for the Members Cruise ;-)

Which reminds me... Anyone ever gotten one of the DVC Captains Logs while cruising? I do not recall anyone mentioning them before but I probably missed the thread or something. Very cute books, we have already put some notes in ours.

4:00pm is the DVC Members gathering. Time to nap so I can make sure to test some more drinks for Amanda tonight. ;-) Ah, such a tough gig!!

I also need your info soon if you want to dine with other disers. I have haeard from very few. PM me your full name, ages & cabin #'s.

Thanks,

I hope everyone had a nice long weekend, we did and boy are we tired. I was wondering what we should do about Sunday Mass since we will be arriving late on Saturday. I think I remember seeing something about services being offered at the airport but I am not certain. Can anyone confirm? We are looking for a Catholic service. Thanks.

Found this on the archdiocese of Orlando website:

Mass Times at Orlando International Airport
Sunday: 8:15 a.m. & 12:00 pm (noon).
Holy Days: 12:00 pm (noon).

NOTE: Persons attending Mass must have a boarding pass as the chapel is behind Security for Gates 1-59, the opposite end of the Hyatt Hotel.

We'll be going to Mass at Mary Queen of the Universe Shrine
We did this in 2005 and it worked great. We didn't do it last year as we took the DIS party bus and we were afraid there wasn't enough time to make Mass and then make it back in time to meet the bus.

If you are taking a taxi:
Please take the Mears cab # with you and call a taxi after you get out.

I met people on a bus who didn't get a Mears taxi and were overcharged.

Thanks but we'll have our car. It will be Mass, a quick breakfast at McDonalds and then we'll head to the port!

Have not posted recently but we are still on Board will have to start reading this thread more often now.

Mary&CherylP3, thanks for the info. It looks we will have to figure something out because we won't have boarding passes and will are using a car service to take us to port. Our flight to MCO leaves at 6:20 and the chapel at the airport has mass at 5:45, I will have to call them and see how long the service will be and if we will make our flight. Has anyone attened services at the airport before? I was wondering how long they tend to run.

Have a good week everyone, we finally have 2 out of our 4 kids in school starting today. yeah!!!

Good morning everyone - happy Tuesday. Back to work for me today. Had a great relaxing weekend. Hope everyone enjoyed theirs as well.

Theresa - sorry can't help with Mass at the Airport. We've never attended it there. Good luck.

Tom - nice to see you checking in.

PDFG and all who need it.

Happy Tuesday everyone.

Both kids were home from college, so I did a lot of laundry and cooking. But it was fun. The weather was not so good, so not much pool time.

have a great week.

Making sure you (Joannel) got us for linked dining...
