2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

For those who have been on the member cruise before: Is it normal to wait this long to release information on who will be guest speakers, what events will take place, and any other pertinent info for those who just don't have the patience to keep waiting?!!!!! We're like, what, 8 weeks away now? Inquiring minds wanna know! :cool1:

I'll chime in on the Disney Dining Plan - we used it for our last trip and were very pleased with it - BUT - we usually do eat out at the nicer restaurants when we're there and plan ahead for it. If you are a drop in and eat, or a counter-service diner, the dining plan isn't for you.

Lucky Kay - hope she has a great time on board. The family is kind of bummed about this only being a 4 day cruise so the good news is: we're sailing again in January!!! A 15 day cruise after this one. Can't do too many cruises...:yay:

Good morning everyone!

trishy - unfortunately this is common for the cruises. They like to keep things quiet until the last minute. I had hoped based on feedback they got last year they would be a little more open with info this year but it doesn't seem to be.

To answer your question here are the dates of updates we got last year:

8/30 - we got an update with out first guest
Jason Surrell, a Disney Imagineer

9/28 - we got another update with the announcement of guest
Bonnie St. John an accomplished speaker, author, and motivational coach

10/17 - we got our final update before the cruise with the announcement of Jennifer Hudson and Jodi Benson as our musical guests and the anouncement of
2006 Walt Disney World® Ambassador, Michael Collier.

We never did find out that Roy Disney would be with us until we got on the cruise. So you can see they like surprises.

The good news is they always do a great job of getting wonderful guests. The bad news is they don't like to share that info. I can understand not doing it too early as people's schedules may have to change, but as you said 8 weeks out they should be pretty well set.

I totally agree, that's why Kay and I booked B2B and are staying on for 3 more nights, so when everyone gets off Thursday morning, we will be lying around the pool all by ourselves. Maybe I can sneak in a trip down the Mickey slide since no one will be on board? HA

Only in my dreams....................

But they did say this was the year of a million dreams, didn't they? :cloud9:

So you get to stay on board for the next 3 night cruise?? That is awesome if you don't have to disembark.

They have done an update on the Member Cruise website and announced they are having a Legends Ball on the third night. Sounds like this is a dress up celebration. Definately something new to the Member Cruise.

There is also an interview with the manager of Palo.

So the information is starting to filter in.

I was so looking forward to not dressing up........... I think that is the night I made Palo reservations?????????????

I pack a suit on every trip. You just never know what will happen.

I am kinda excited about a "ball". It will be great to see all our friends in their finery. Any ideas about what to wear?

I guess it's another reason I need to go shopping. Boy, the DH will not be happy about this one.

Well we weren't planning on dressing up but I have an outfit I've used on past cruises and it usually packs well.

Good morning all,

Happy Saturday. I have a day of laundry ahead of me. Son #1 goes back to school tomorrow and has cleaned his room and brought all his clothes down.

It's still very hot & humid here, but the tourists are gone so traffic is better. It will be bad next week end but the summer is over.

I guess the black dress is coming on this trip too. Oh well, I guess we will survive.

Enjoy the week end.

Good Morning Joan

No, we don't have to disembark. We just have to go to Guest Services to pick up our KTTW card. We also are staying in the same stateroom (unless we change!) so we don't have to pack up either!

And, we get to go to Castaway Cay 3 times in one week! Now that's my type of cruising! :hippie:
