2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

Walking- not running for me. I try to walk every moring on deck 10 for about an hour. We are also doing the ToT race.

Hope every one had a great week end. Took son # 2 to college yesterday. Shed a few tears. He was a lot of fun to have home this summer, it went so fast. Son # 1 leaves next weekend. Then it's house cleaning time.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

I'm a walker not a runner. I like to walk in the morning also. Amanda and I are doing the 6.5k T o T. We are doing it because they give you 2.5 hours to complete it. I can't wait. only 9 weeks left

i;m doing the TOT 13k....probably wont go too crazy with running on the cruise.....can't wait to be there....glad it is in the single digits!!

Good morning everyone. Rain, rain, rain keeps coming down here in Chicagoland.

Keeping everyone in the path of the hurricane in our thoughts. Our rain is nothing like they are getting!

has anyone done the dining plan? I know that there are million threads for it, but I am confused. Did you find it worth the money? Also, what happens when we switch resorts? We are staying at BCV until 10/29, then going to SSR until 10/31. I have read alot of threads and there are pros and cons to the plan. Amanda and I usually spilt meals, so I'm not sure that it would worth the money. If anybody has any insights that would be great.

Thanks and have a great day

We have never done it. I have talked to people last time who said it was a great deal if you are staying on property and only doing Disney, maybe only get one and still split your meals. If we had the whole family it would be worth it, you get snakcs and drinks also. But with just the two of us we don't eat as much. I would much rather have a Dole Whip for lunch:banana: than a meal......

have a great Monday.

I think that they require everyone in your room to be on the dining plan, you can't pick and choose.

We have done the dining plan twice. My thoughts are if you are planning on going out to nice dinners every night, then it is worth it with the other meals and snacks. We have only done it when we are with friends because they like to go out and eat every night to a nice restaurant.

When we are by ourselves, we haven't done it, because we are usually running around the parks and don't like to sit down for a long meal, we would rather be riding the rides. We usually grab something quick, or something you can eat or drink while we are walking. It is just easier for us that way.

So, now that I've confused you even more, I guess it decides on what kind of eating habits you have!

You haven't confused me more. We usually eat only a couple of table service meals that we spilt anyway. I think the more I look into the DDP, the more I don't think its for us. The ddp is almost $40 a day per person. I don't that we even spend that much on food. Maybe drinks, but not food. :rotfl:

Do you have AP's? If so the DDE may be the way to go. It costs ($50 I think) but gives you 20% off food and drinks. We've used it for a couple of years now and it pays for itself even though we don't go to WDW that much.

Yup. We got that in March when we were there for ESPN weekend. It paid for itself when we were there. I think it was $65 and it only took a few table service resturants and we had that back.

I am jogging the 6.5K, I am up to 3 miles and doing an 11 minute mile. I hope to be running on deck or on a treadmill, but I am not going to commit to anything because once I get on the cruise, all bets are off. :)

Lets get all of the storms that have names out of they way now so when we go it's all over.

Hi all, hope everybody is staying dry and out of the storms way. We are back from AC and it was nice, the kids had a blast. I got one of my widom teeth pulled this morning adn I am slowing recovering.

Back to resting now.

Good morning everyone! I feel so bad for everyone in the line of hurricane Dean. Sounds like Cozumel isn't going to be hit too bad but Costa Maya is. We were just there in May of last year and while it wasn't a favorite port of ours (we prefer the Eastern) it was just getting up and running and who knows how the damage from this storm could hurt them.

We were in Costa maya in Sept. Hope all goes well for them, but a Cat 5-yuck. It was all so new.

Have a great Tuesday.

Hi all,

It's raining AGAIN! and feels like fall!! We are in long pants and sweatshirts!
Hope everyone has a nice Tuesday!

You know, I guess we can all complain about the weather, it's so out of the norm. We haven't had rain in months, humidity has been high (unusual for us), and tempuratures have been in high 90's all month. It may sound nice to some, but like I say, it's not normal, so of course we complain.

Whatever the weather in Oct, I can predict Lots of Funshine, and showers of relaxation.

4 more pay periods and I hope I have enough money
