We are driving down Saturday and staying at Saratoga Springs. Then after we have three nights at Beach Club.

We are also on deck 2. Since we were paying cash for this one, I will live with out the veranda. I am never in the room any way. We are in room 2021. This will be our first room on deck 2. We stayed in 1078 on our first cruise and it was fine.

I am hoping our boys will join us after the cruise for two days. They are both in college at FSU. This is our first time staying at the DVC resorts. We usually stay at shades of green and save the points for the cruise, So we are looking forward to seeing everything. I am hoping the MSSHP is the Saturday night before so we can go into the parks for a little while.

Stay dry and have a nice day.

You will love Saratoga Springs nanc and I stayed there Jan of 2006 and had a great time. We meet up with our 2005 cruising dinner couple. they both work for the Vacation Club. They are both retired and drive the vans from resort to resort picking up possible new members. Jone we will be in cabin 2576 same deck. We were on Deck 2 in 2005 and licked it . It's very close to all the Dining areas and other places on board.

Have a Magical Day

I can't wait. I love staying new places. Since we have nothing planned for Saturday we can really take our time looking around. Until we all meet up somewhere.

Has any one eaten at the Animal Kingdom Restaurant Bomma?

Is it easy to ride the busses between resorts?

Hi Joan
It's very easy to get buses from resort to resort. In this case where your staying at Saratoga you get the bus at the Market place to any where you want to go. It's a very easy walk from the Springs. Or if your going to the Parks you can pick up busses at bus stops at your area where your staying.Hope Tthis helps you guys.

thanks Dan, I really like not having to use the car once we get there. Roger always seems to get lost no matter how many times we have been there.

I am still working on my scrap book from last Septamber. I am determined to get it finished before we go to California in June.

It's amazing how fast this year has gone. It seems like yesterday both boys were going off to college and we had a empty house. I really did not like the empty nest thing. Well now they will be home and the end of next week for the summer.

Thanks for all the answers.

Have a great night, or what's left of it. I hope the bad weather has passed.

Joanne

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to stop by and ask for everybody's prayer and PD to the families who fell victim to the Virginia Tech shootings. Although, I do not have a personal connection to the school or the families affected at this present moment, but I have family attending Virginia schools not too far from there and it is indeed very tragic event.

Member Gallery Update!

Thanks for all your patience. I have finally gotten the gallery updated.

Sounds like you have a great year of sailing planned!

DIS meets- what do you think?

In the past we have usually had two DIS meets associated with the Member cruise.

One the day/night before and one on the ship itself.

For the pre-cruise meet we did it at the Radisson at the port before the 2003 cruise, at Pleasure Island before the 2005 cruise (DVC was doing a bon voyage party there that night so we all met before the party), and at the Solarium at the Beach Club before the 2006 cruise.

It looks like we have a lot of cruisers staying around WDW before the cruise. What do you all think about meeting up that Saturday? Times? Locations?

For the onboad meet we did sailaway on the 2003 cruise and found it was way too crowded and loud at that time. We have since moved it to be 3pm on deck 10. This gives everyone about 1/2 hour to meet and greet everyone. Deck 10 works because it isn't too crowded at that point and gives everyone an idea of where to come back to for the sailaway party (which happens on decks 9 & 10). Also since we meet right above the Goofy pool it gives those with families a chance for the kids to swim and still make it to the meet. We've often met up as a group later to enjoy the sailaway party. The negatives is that at times it can be windy/hot up there. Should we stick with deck 10? Move to deck 9? Some other groups have also met on deck 3 down in the Promonade Lounge? What do you all think?

Welcome aboard Kugabelle. Enjoy your summer of cruises. I wish we could have done the Med, but couldn't work it in this summer.

Dis meets- I would love to meet up before at WDW. Saturday night some where would be fun.

I like the idea of outside on deck 10. But I am up to anything. It shouldn't be too hot in October.

Have a great day every one.

What a tragic thing to happen.

I will never, never forget years ago when it happened in Florida in Gainesville when Danny Rollins killed several people.

It was during Easter Break and some of the kids didn't go home. They were looking for one of female roommates and could not find her.

She came home w/o her parents knowing it or she just hadn't called them yet, (can't remember that part) and she was at my house babysitting my two children while I was away for a National Bowling Tournament. She said it was the best b/sitting job she had ever had.

It was very sad 'cause her roommates were there and they were killed.

Makes you wonder about the generation our g/children will live in. I shutter to think about it.

With two boys off at college I can't even think about it. After Columbine my kids don't leave the house with out a kiss & hugs and an I love you. Every conversation I have with them, even if I am not happy with them at that moment ends with an I love you.

You just have to pray they they stay safe. I don't know how those familes can deal with what has happened. I don't think I would survive.

Kay- how were those Konk Koolers????

We will be staying at OKW Saturday night before the cruise and then at BWV for 3 nights afterwards. We were hoping that during one of those nights would be MMNSHP. I took my 2 oldest DD several years ago and would love to take the youngest ones this time around. Does anyone know the dates as I have not been able to find out yet.
As for getting together before or during the cruise, whatever anyone decides is fine with us. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
:woohoo:

I haven't seen any dates yet, but last year MNSSHP was held both the Saturday before the cruise and also the Thursday and Friday after the cruise. I would recommend the Thusday one as the mid-week ones tend to be a little less crowded than the weekend ones.

I am game for an on ship meet. We are leaning more towards being in an area hotel near the port on Saturday night.

Just a question for those that have your travel insurance. Where are you getting it and about how much? I have been reading other posts on the cruise forum and checking out some of the places people have listed, but I am coming up with some higher numbers. I think I am coming in with the $200 range and others I see are coming in at $80 something. Saying kids are free and such. I am not having that luck. Is it because the member cruise is more expensive?? Just curious what everyone else is coming up with in price and where.
