2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

FE question.....do we need to put any kind of tag or "from" on the items or is it all supposed to be a surprise?

I got my goodies today and want to get them all put together.

What is an FE???

Can someone pls help me with this. I am vacillating between renting a minivan and dropping it off and renting another one at the end of the cruise or does it make sense to rent a minivan for the week and to park it at the cruise line? We also considered going by Florida Van service. We are staying until the 30th and the weekly rental + 2 days is cheaper than going by Florida Limo service. I am very confused. What's the best way to do this. We have four adults and two kids and 6 large suitcases and 6 small suitcases.

Kay - I was going to put scissors in the suitcase and Dawn didn't think we could put them in. If we are checking luggage we can right? I can call the airlines if you aren't sure.

The documents that came from Disney in my packet really didn't have anything except the Bahama custom paper. (I checked in on-line and also am not taking Disney transfers) so that is all that should have been in there right. Just making sure as the list below looked like maybe I should have had more.

Dawn and I leave in two days. WE are on a 9:30 flight out of Dallas, but I already checked into a 6:15 am flight!!



you will need the docs filled out that was sent by Disney.
You will need your Passport or Birth Certificates or picture ID
If you don't check in online, you should fill out all the docs that were sent to you.
If you checked in online, print out the contract and sign it, as they will request it at check in.
The Bahamas form was in with your docs that Disney sent you and you should fill that out.

Everything that Disney sent in the package is self-explanatory

Sort of rainy and gloomy here in Ft. Lauderdale. But otherwise, it is a beautiful day.

Sort of a Winnie the Pooh Blustry Windy day......... ha ha Went out to get the paper and had my nightgown on and it blew all over the place.

Going to get dressed and go to Einstein's Bagel Shop and get a bucket along with some spreads and orange juice and take to the hospital office for everyone. Should be a nice morning.

FE were talked about many, many times. I am sorry you missed the conversation. Have you not been lurking either??? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Geez, and we could have talked about you. :love:

We are hanging them outside our stateroom door and they have pockets on them. We are going to exchange little/small gifts with each other.

It is just a little fun we thought of. It has been done on other cruises and groups.

Not everyone is participating. There is a list of those that are a couple of pages back.

- Date of Arrival-Is this the day we board the Wonder or the day(s) we're at Castaway Quay?
- City whwereyou Board the boat- Port canaveral does not fit?
- Travel Agency- Do we list DVC member services?
- City of Travel Agency?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You all are making me jealous, we still don't leave until Saturday morning.
These days are lasting about 62 hours each (maybe just a little exageration).
 
Amanda and I are leaving for Detroit Airport in about 1 hour. Can't wait to get to WDW.

Amanda is taking her laptop, so that she can do work while on vacay. I think she just wants to keep up with the boards. She is very excited due to the fact the I got her an airtime card, so she can use her computer where ever Verzion has service.

I probably won't be checking in with the board I know she will.

If something is not filled in, the CM on check in will do it for you. I have left mine blank sometimes thinking I would do it there and forgot and the CM did it for me.

In the 12 cruises on DCL I have taken thus far, it is definitely less expensive to take the rental vehicle and turn it in rather than paying the fee at the port to store in the parking lot. Then, upon return, check out the car again with turn in back in Orlando.

Now, when we had 12 of us cruising, we had 2 vans going to the port and we checked them in and then upon return from the cruise, we used Art's Transporation because we went straight to the airport. The price was very reasonable and they have a trailer behind the van and put all the luggage in their so it was very convenient.

You could probably get by with the van, but plan on having luggage in between your legs and sitting in every open spot on the van in order to get yourself to the port. I would definitely check the price of turning in vs. keeping and be sure to include the cost at the port for the 5 days of keeping in their lot.

took Bagels to the hospital office and everyone went crazy. I ended up staying 3 hours and working. I knew it was going to happen. But it's OK I'll be out all next week.

Then afterwards I went and got my hair cut and had to stop by Target again. Just couldn't help myself.

Got Halloween give-outs so I wouldn't have to do it when I get back. Saved me a little time.

Hope they don't mind white-out on the Bahamas form--I put Disney Vacation Club for the travel agency, so I'll have to fix that when I get home tonight. Thanx for somebody else being smart enuff to ask rather than do as I did and guess what was wanted!
 
if something is not filled out correctly, the CM's on check-in will correct it.

Don't fret at all. Nothing can keep us from getting onboard. Everything can be fixed on check-in.

It really goes very smoothly.

Safe travels for everyone going out tonight and tomorrow (and the rest of the week).

My family heads out Friday afternoon for a LOOOOONG 20 hour drive - 1st time we are taking it in one shot instead of 2.

I can't get out of school early Friday so hubby and I are splitting the drive to get to the hotel by port for Saturday for resting :)

I have one son packed and I have to pack myself and my other son. So much to do . . . .
