2007 DVC Member Cruise - SSMC07 - October 21, 2007

Welcome Annie.

Can someone tell me if the Cruise has shampoo/conditioner and lotion.
I try to save all the "pounds" I can in packing and am trying to find out if we need to pack it.

Joannel, do you have a final list on who was on your linked dining list. Just curious who we might be dining with for early dining.

Themallons - are we still at 24 people for the Fish Extenders?

less than 3 weeks to go :woohoo:

I found out last week that I need to find a new job. My last day will be October 17th..so I am consumed with that. Would really like to have one before we leave so I don't wake up and go to bed thinking about it!! :headache:

So here is a question for everyone. Who is doing door signs? Usually by this time mine are done but haven't done them yet. Did do one this morning and may do another one or two tonight. We usually have 2-3 on our door.

Anyone else?

yep - we'll be doing door magnets.

REMEMBER: NO GLUE ON THE DOORS

I have tons from other cruises. Will have to go thru them and see which ones to take.

Also make shirts to match the door magnets. But I end up not wearing all of them, so I have sort of quit doing that. Still have the older ones but not making any new ones for these cruises.

Good morning all,

I was a little busy at work yesterday, so I didn't check in much.

Kay I haope the rain has stopped and you are feeling better.

I just hope I can everythiing done before cruise time with out working myself to death.

Have a great day.

Our door signs on that I made last weekend are on our fridge.

Hope everyone has a great day.

I will make door signs, but not magnets. The cruise I was just on didn't have metal doors, so bought Post-It photo paper for our signs. I'm assuming that this would be permitted on DCL since it's not really glue. Anyone used Post-its on the cruise with or without incident?
If I wanted magnets, however, what type/brand/thickness of magnetic printer paper do you recommend?

We will have at least two door signs for each day.

Dawn made one for each day and I made one for each day. We had a blast maing them. Sometimes we are so opposite. She has the villians and I have all the happy Mickey/Pluto/Goofy/Nemo etc. Pretty funny!

QUESTION on dress for dinner.
On the regular dinner nights, like Parrat Cay and Animators P what is appropriate. I am not the dress up kind of person. Capris, docker type pants...etc. Kind of like business casual at work.

And is the first night more casual as everyone is getting settled in.
no shorts tho right?

it is quite casual. Just no bathing suits and skimpy clothes. But like you said, capris, docker type pants, etc.

The first night I usually see what everyone boards the ship wearing, as most of the suitcases have not been delivered as yet.

I've been wearing skoirts with a top lately and that has been fine.

Justs be comfortable and you'll be fine

Can't wait to see your door signs. I am sure they are beautiful. And, yep, it is fun making them.

thanks - but I have a full blown awful cold. Don't know if I caught it when Little Abby was sick last week and running a high fever or if I caught it from one of the nurses at work that came in sick. I tried to stay away from her.

Am off the Drs. at 11 am and hopefully he'll give me a Z pac.

Also went to the GI Dr. yesterday and "I" have decided not to have my gall bladder out or liver biopsy until I "have" to on an emergency basis. The GI Dr. call the other 3 Drs. and everyone agreed it was OK for right now. All of this is not fun, but, hey, I have too many things planned. ;)

Joannel: I think it might start clearing up a little. Just got back from taking DD to the airport, as the family left for N.Y., and the skies look awfully good right now. Maybe they'll stay that way.

Have a great day everyone

don't forget to pack 'em.

I don't put my hanging bag on the back of the b/room door anymore, as I always zipper it up and leave it there. Duh !!!!! I have done that so many times.

The doors on DCL are metal so magnetic paper works best. Not sure what they would do with the post-it paper as it still might leave a residue though not as bad as a glue.

We usually just pick up magnetic photo paper at Staples or Office Max. Another thing I've seen is people do it on plain paper and either use a magnetic holder (where you slip the paper in) or magnet strips on the back.

I think the type of magnetic sign paper would depend on - whether or not your printer can handle a certain thickness. I usually use the Avery ones and they work well.

I had a previous printer that would not pick up the thickness and I just went out and bought another printer that was compatible.

Kay- How is Abby?

She is doing pretty good now. Her medicine is up, I think, on Friday, and if there is a bump of any type, we will have to have it lanced to drain out the infection. But it will be - not minor - but a lot less than if really big.

The Dr. STRESSED that we are NOT NOT NOT to touch the bump, as it will move the pus around and start all over again. So we just leave it alone but the Drs. eye can see if it is there or not.

It still entails a hospital stay for a baby.

She has been in daycare all week and they are giving her the medicine. WE had to sign papers for that to be done.

Her bottom is getting much better also and she doesn't yell when she wets her diapers. So that is good.

yikes, I wish I had the $$'s that our drs and hospital has been paid this past four years. I would be on the millionaire list. Mine alone have been over 3M. That is just terrible.

And, of course, that is not to mention our pets that we have. If you start thinking about it, you can go totally bonkers !!!

I'm bringing mine too!

Hope that with both of us they all fit the door! :rotfl: :rotfl:

But, we will always have the inside of the door too! :lmao:

We'd probably all be millionaires if we stopped spending all our money with Disney! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I figured on that - I'm bringing only a few, tho. The majority of mine have me and Harry on them -

I'm off to bed for the day - have to get better - sleep will do a whole lot good for me right now.
