Ed, great to hear the new business is going well.
Holly, congats on being almost half done with law school. From here on, instead of getting worked to death you get bored to death with the exception of a few courses.
As I indicated in the previous post, we went to Philadelphia on July 15 for a skating competition for the girls. They both medaled with each getting a 4th place medal.
We did get to see the King Tut exhibit and the Liberty Bell while there, but not much else other than the skating rink where they competed.
We got home on Saturday and on Monday they were at the ice rink here at 8 am for lessons. They spend between 2 and 4 hours a day at the rink between lessons and free style practice. (You can guess who is getting the majority of my disposable cash).
They have another competition her in Atlanta on Labor Day Weekend and one in York, PA in October. Then we are done with competitions until March of 2008.
All is well with everyone here. In addition to working at the law firm, I have already started one busines with a partner and Becky and I are about to open a skating retail store close to the rink. While there are stores that sell hockey stuff here, there are no figure skating stores in metropolitan Atlanta. Hopefully, we will be THE store for the figure skaters here. (Sometimes I believe that I have taken leave of my senses to try practicing law full-time and being involved with 2 other businesses. I was recently asked what my hobbies are. I honestly replied "work.").

Hi everybody!!! Hope ya'll are doing well.
Ginny![]()
Hey Ed! So glad this is working out for you!Hope all is well!
Wanted to let you fellow cruisemates know that we're finally putting together our groups for 2008. I won't go into detail here as I don't think it would be proper, but if you want info just email me privately and I'll give you the basics.
We're doing a Carnival Mexican Riviera Cruise next summer with a half dozen or so Disney Legends; and a Disney Cruise for fans of British Ballroom dancers Darren & Lilia.
They're going to be a lot of fun, so let me know if you are interested.
Hi Ginny! How the heck are ya?!![]()
Ginny, well, law school is brutal, but Pirate Tyler and I are doing just great!Holly!!!!!
Hey girl! How are you and Pirate Tyler? How is law school going? We're doing good. Lots of changes at work. Ick! It's getting late, so I'm heading to bed... I'll post again soon. Tell Jan that we said hello!!
Ginny
Hi Lionel! I'm so jealous! I'm sure you and your family are having a great time. I'll bet the girls just love the Stack.Hi to everyone who still checks this thread periodically. I am writing this from the Disney Magic. We are at the end of our Western Cruise. The girls are now 13 and have been living at the Stack. Hope everything is well with all of you.

Lionel, congrats to the girls on their competition results!I hope this message finds everyone well. Here is a summary of what has been going on in our lives.
The figure skating competitions for the girls are done for this year. We ended up being in 3 in the Atlanta area and 1 in the Philadelphia area in July.
As a result of the total lack of a figure skating store in the Altanta area, we opened one. (At times, I believe I am just plain NUTS!)
The store opened on Saturday, October 6--a week after we got back from the Disney Western Caribbean cruise. The Grand Opening went well and people are slowly getting to know where the store is.
I was able to convince some of the suppliers to set us up as an authorized dealer without actually having a storefront. Therefore, we had a lot of merchandise when we opened the doors that most new stores do not have.
I now have the task of trying to get an ecommerce site set up for the store. The website is www.toepicksandsticks.com. Right now, there is a very basic site there made through Google.
On the cruise in September, the girls got to go to the Stack. (They had just turned 13). Needless to say, I did not get to sleep before midnight on any night of the cruise as I had to wait up for them.
I wanted to book one of the Repo cruises in 2008, but they are sold out. (And, I doubt that my practice could sustain me being gone for 2 weeks straight). So, I booked 2 cruises--one with my DVC points (January 5, 2008), and I booked one on the ship (the Western Alternative Double Dip--September 27, 2008). Raquel made me promise to book the September cruise because a bunch of the teens that they met on the last cruise are supposed to be on the Double Dip September 2008 cruise.
Hope to see some of you on one of the cruises.

Well, howdy Lionel! How's Rebekah's ankle? I wish I had read this post in January because maybe Tyler and I could have popped over to Detroit for a short visit with you and your family. We only live an hour away. Bummer that I missed this.I hope this Post finds everyone well.
We just got off the cruise yesterday and are back to reality (or some semblance of it). We are in Detroit this week.
Both girls were supposed to train at the Detroit Skating Club--one will. Rebekah injured her ankle on the first full day of the cruise--Sunday. As a result we got to meet the nurses on the ship, Dr. Nick on the ship, and get the 50 cent tour of the medical center on the ship.
We all believe that she tore a ligament. In any case, she is off the ice for a while. Hopefully, she can work on off ice training while Raquel is on the ice.
We are going again on the September 27, 2008 Alternative Western Cruise. Is anyone also going on that cruise?
