Hey,
A couple pages ago (we really are getting to be a busy bunch!) someone asked about the movies on board. I was curious too so I called for the updated list:
POTC2, Cars, Chicken Little, 8 Below, Narnia, Shaggy Dog, Wild, Step Up, Stick It, and Invincible.

I'm very psyched about that list b/c we rarely get to see movies in theaters anymore and I really want to see Invincible, Step Up, and POTC2! If time permits, I haven't seen Cars, Wild, 8 Below, and I'm sort of ashamed to admit it, but I'd like to see Stick It too. I guess if anyone's looking for me, check the theater!

-Courtney

Thanks for doing that Courtney! I had that on my very long "to do" list so now I guess I can cross that one off. :thumbsup2

I'm sooooo far behind on this thread that I've pretty much given up. I'm just so busy between running the kids to ballet and ice hockey and trying to get one more test in before we leave. Hopefully I can keep up a little better over the weekend--after Nutcracker auditions--and maybe even see some of the tropical updates on the Weather Channel! :sunny:

Okay who else isn't thrilled to see this new tropical depression? It's been so quiet and now a little over a week before our departure one of these has to show up. It looks like it could have the potential to turn next week's western cruise into an eastern. We're just hoping and praying that if it does develope it stays in the gulf and doesn't come near Florida.

Thanks so much for including us in everything and thanks for all your organizing everything! :yay:

Okay, since you are avoiding Larry like the plague, can we vote him out of the group picture now? :confused3

OK, I posted this on another thread, but no one's replied so far- so I'll ask the group.

On the bahamas immigration forms, what do we put for how many nights we'll be in the bahamas and what dates? Do you put the entire 7 day cruise- our only real stop in the bahamas is Castaway Cay and obviously we aren't there overnight.

I asked a similar question a couple of weeks ago. I was told that since the ship is of Bahamas registry, that you are in effect "in the Bahamas" the whole time you are sailing.

Sounded good to me..

UGH- we were driving S on I95 just north of Jacksonville back in June- there was a fenderbender in front of us...amazingly we didn't hit the car ahead of us (I was SURE) we were going to! However, just as I we'd come to a stop and DH and I were breathing a sigh of relief, he looked in the rearview mirror, OH CRAP! BOOM. hit from behind and into the car ahead of us like a honda sandwich.

The good news is we were all fine, DH did a couple visits to the chiropactor (or crapapracter as DD 4 calls him :) ) and was released. I am going still b/c when he did xrays my neck is straight. It's supposed to be curved. Oops. It isn't really bothering me, but he said it's one of those things that if you don't take care of it you'll be miserable down the road. What I love is, he also gave me a referral to a massage therapist b/c my muscles are so tight he can barely adjust me. That means though that I'm going to him 3x a week and her 2x a week, so all I do is try to cram in appointments during the 2.75 hours I have betw. preschool dropoff and preschool pick up time. It's a pain, but I'm sure it will be worth it to have my neck put back into place and my back muscles loosened up.

Can't wait for the massage on Castaway Cay- just wish I could figure out how to get the auto insurance to pay for that one!

Actually Courtney, you can submit the massage to insurance as long as it as your doc still recommends massages. The therapists on the ships are generally better trained than most in the U.S. I have done a lot of research on this. If you buy any product from the spa that might not be covered. However, the Instant Refreshing Gel is phenominal and actually helps the muscles to breathe and make it easier for the doc to manipulate your back. Even though my dad was a chiro, I ended up with a complete reverse curve to my neck...not visible to the naked eye but definitely to someone trying to work on me. I do understand about the straight issue. My DH had an accident several years ago and his was straight. He did all that they said, and his neck was much better. Being a dentist though puts quite a bit of strain on it, so he still tries to do the exercises.
The stones massage would also be a really good one for you!!!
Talk with you later!

We have always filled it out as being the day we are in Castaway Cay. They have always taken that. Interesting to see how things go.

Gonna be a big void in my daily agenda after this cruise and we all kind of drift off our own separate ways.

HEY! No talk about "after the cruise" until after. You're killing my excitement!

The only way it would be good is if it affects us being able to get back to port after the cruise and they have to divert us and we get to stay on for a couple extra days! That happened a while back to a co-worker. FREE extra days on a cruise!

HI. I have read somewhere that some people take a case of water on board. Is the ship water not drinkable? Or is it just a matter of preference? :confused3 We were thinking about bring wine with us and double wrap it in bubble wrap and then a plastic bag and pray that it works. But for the kids, I was going to bring some plastic sports bottles and refill as we go on deck 9. My concern is how safe if the drinking water?

It happened to us two years ago thanks to Jeanne. I do feel sorry for the 5 day people after us, but I loved my 9 day cruise.

We have been waiting to see all of these films. I heard POTC is better on the trip due to the rocking action. Save us a seat. :cheer2:

You are suppose to be our fearless leader, not the doom cryer! I can't even think about it. (However you are right...I will have nothing to do, just going to have to PLAN ANOTHER CRUISE!!)

The water onboard is better for you and cleaner than any you will have on land. The miracle of distilling sea water. Don't waste your money on the bottle stuff.

Thanks Chuck! My mom said the same thing, but actually I was just thinking that she didn't want to help lug the case of water.

Buy a couple of bottles and then refill them onboard. There is no need to lug a case of the commercial water with you. Save your back and the $$$$'s.

That's what we did last time. When we were finished with the bottles of water we drank on the way, we kept the empty ones and refilled them the whole cruise from the bathroom sink in our room. It was great to take a couple of bottles of water on excursions so we wouldn't have to buy any. We're big water guzzlers, so we made sure we had 2 bottles each every time we left the ship. Very handy and cheap to refill our own.

Hi all: We're getting ready to head out for a week of WDW before the cruise. :cool1: Our flight leaves tomorrow morning at 10:45! I am so excited! We'll see everyone Sat. at 2:30!

Safe travels, everyone.

Are you kidding me- I might be able to get insurance to pay for half of a couples massage on castaway cay?! I suppose it couldn't hurt to submit it- the worst they could say is 'no'.

How long did it take your DH's neck to straighten out? I might look into the Instant Refreshing gel... is it like an icy hot type product that makes the muscles feel more relaxed?

That would be awesome. We were on the shortened Hurricane Jeanne cruise, which was not right after the extended cruise, but a couple of weeks later. As long as the storms stay away from Florida long enough for us to all get there and on board, they can come and keep us at sea for however many days they want. :thumbsup2 We really don't care if we change ports (though we're really looking forward to getting back to CC, missed it on our last two cruises) we could sail pretty much anywhere and be happy.
