I got my documents today. :cheer2: Is there any way to tell what our dining rotation will be, or will we not find out until we board?

Courtney,

Was your dinner at the Signature Room. A great restaurant, and I spend many many evenings looking at the Hancock from my favorite lounge. The Hancock is just out the window of the hotel where I stay and I spend most, if not all of my free time in the lobby lounge. It's not just a bar (just for clarification), but offers a full menu and is comprised of sofas and comforatable chairs.

Yes it was. I love that place, except for the wait for the elevators- big lines going up and down. Too many tourists who I think figured out you can go up there and see the view for free instead of going to the observatory. where do you stay, the Westin or the 4 Seasons? My mom's condo is just west of the Hancock on Delaware, half a block down from 4th Presby.

I stay at the Ritz Chicago, this particular property is owned by Four Seasons. It is at the water tower, just a block down from your Mom's. What a great location for your Mom to live, within walking distance of Gibson's and Hugo's, and everything else that one might need.

Monstro - Do you have those drink coupons? I think with traveling with my 2 kids, my DH and my DF and DM, specially the DM, I think I may need one!!!

Oh - I forgot to mention - WE GOT OUR CRUISE DOCUMENTS TODAY!!!!!!! :Pinkbounc :cool1: :yay: :woohoo:  :bounce:

Private Message me an address you would like them sent to and I'll get them in the mail Wednesday. I think each book is good for two drinks - maybe three.

I want to be doing the Doc Dance.....
You live too far away from Disney. You need to move the family closer. Then your Docs would get to you faster. Georgia is nice.

Nope, closer doesn't help- I live in Melbourne, FL about 70 miles from Disney and we didn't get our docs yet! My TA said they were mailed from Disney last Thursday, supposedly to us, but she's keeping her eye out in case they were mailed to her instead. So, we're not doing the doc. dance yet.

BTW- someone asked- you don't get your dining rotation until you check in, sorry!

In light of the current airport security measures, I've decided I better check into changing my return flight. We're scheduled to fly out of MCO at 11:30am, but doubt we'd make that now. And while I'm at it, I might as well see if we can get TO MCO earlier on cruise day. Even if it means getting up before the crack of dawn...it will be SO WORTH IT to get onboard as soon as we can! :thumbsup2

Are you taking Disney transportation or towncar/limo? Our SWA flight leaves at 11am and I'm planning on having the limo pick us up at 8am to return to the airport. I know we're going to be rushed, but hopeful that we still make it. Last cruise we could have made the 10am flight but I know a lot has changed since then. Does anyone know what happens if we do miss the flight with SWA? I'm hoping there's no penalty and we can just fly stand-by but I don't know.

General SWA/cruise question here before I post it in it's own thread....do you have to print out the boarding pass yourself 24 hours before your flight on the last day of the cruise or can one of the cm's at the main desk do it for you? I'm spoiled by the front desk cm's at the resorts doing it for me. I hate the thought of having to break up my Castaway Cay day to head back to the ship for this

My countdown timer on the DVC site is looking really good right now!!! :sunny: :sunny:

I originally had Disney transportation booked, then cancelled because it would cost less to rent a car each way. But now it seems like too much of a hassle renting because then I'd have to deal with luggage. SO, I'm contacting my TA today to see if she can add the Disney transfers back on. Yup, I'm pretty wishy washy sometimes! I just like not having to wait for my luggage---just get off the plane and onto that DCL bus! And it's a part of the trip Tyler's talking about. He loved getting a happy meal from McDonald's in the airport and taking that on the bus to eat on the way to the ship. Kind of dumb because of all the food that's waiting onboard, but a hungry little kid's appetitie just won't wait! :confused3

So I checked into switching my flight times and it would cost WAY too much at this point. And there's ONLY ONE earlier flight from my airport (the perils of flying from a small airport I suppose), and it would only get us there 1/2 hour earlier.

Thanks for the response Holly. We're actually flying in two days early and staying at the Hyatt. Originally it was one day early then we had a really attractive DING for the last flight out two days early, then we said that we hate to spend that much on the Hyatt and not use it for the entire day so we switched again to the first flight out, two days early. Wishy-washy?....I'm the queen wishy-washer!! My husband just laughs and says that we're very lucky SWA doesn't charge to change flights!! We actually love the Hyatt and the kids love everything there is to do there and in the airport terminal itself. We always like trying to beat the buses to the port and back so we've always hired a towncar or limo. It's not a huge difference in price for us so it's worth it.

I flew late yesterday afternoon from Atlanta to Jacksoville for business. The lines at check-in and security were shorter than usual. It was strange that so few roller bags were in sight. Getting luggage was the difficult part. It took over 45 minutes for them to arrive off the plane. It has been a good while since I have checked bags but with the new rules, there is almost no way you can not check them now. Be prepared to wait on the other end, but the wait for the security lines was much easier.

That being said, I am glad that I decided to drive down from Atlanta for this upcoming trip.

We will be staying at Sarasota Springs a couple of nights before the cruise and I have some room in the car if anyone needs a ride to the port.

Thank you.

You were in Seattle! Next time email me we'll be glad to show you all around when you have downtime.
Pictures of Beckham,.... wellllllll sure!! :yay:

Sorry we missed that opportunity. I didn't even think about that. I was so focused on getting the girls up there for the tournament.

Are we the only ones not to get our docs yet?

Good evening all!

We drove back to Illinois from central Florida...well, the boys the dog and I...on Monday. Tom and Abby flew back on the 6th. Abby tried out for the girl's golf team and she made varsity!! WOOHOO!!! Today was her first match...not too good, but she really showed a lot of poise for a 14 year old. She went out of bounds twice off the second tee...and still pulled out a 48 for the day.
The boys and I enjoyed the return to school for most of the kids by heading to the parks on Saturday and Sunday. It was awesome!!!!
Have some stuff packed, and unpacked our summer trip stuff. Now I am coming down hard. Getting ready for bed.

For those that have had heartache recently, you have our prayers. Those who have had joy and success...CONGRATS!!!
See ya!
