20060902--Eastern Sept 2nd, 2006

Just checking in- I've been traveling. We were able to rebook at FL resident rates last week -woo hoo! Moved up to cat 5 (had to to be able to stillhave adjoining rooms) and still saved $600 or so =).

Anyone else rebook at FL rates?

I'm way behind but wanted to comment on a couple things-
1) I'd love to do a DIS meet, so let me know what the final decision is, Joshua1212 (??) I think wanted a count, there are 6 of us.
2) I'm all about any alcohol tasting I can do that doesn't conflict with a spa appointment or Palo meal- so expect to see me at martinis, tequilla, wine, beer, whatever (hic!)
3)whoever it was talking about getting FL drivers license changed over the day before you leave...Yikes! Maybe it's different where you'll be, but I have heard NIGHTMARE stories from people even if they had appointments in Brevard county- where it took them all day. You might want to kindly inquire when making the appt. as to how 'actual' a time that is- or if it's sort of a floating time...and call asap to make one! I'm wondering, what will it get you to have a FL DL that late, you can't change your pricing at that poitn can you?

I guess that's all I have for now...

Terrible question to ask: How much money would I forfeit if I had to cancel our cruise at this point? Too worn out from long day at work to search DCL's website for their cancellation policy. Anybody know offhand? :sad2:

Would hate to see to exercise this cancellation policy, but here it is. I hope everything works out for you and Tyler.

I really hope you don't have to cancel! Please let us know what you decide. Hope everything works out okay. :grouphug:

Thanks Joshua for the cancellation info. Hmmmm....doesn't seem like it would do much for me to cancel at this point. Plus my airline tickets are non-refundable. Everything will work out and then I can relax on a trip that's already paid for! :cool1:

So you are still with us, right? I hope so, things will work out they always do one way or another.

Yup, you can still count us in. I was just in tip-top financial shape when I booked the cruise and paid for most of it. Things quickly changed, but things always do work out....In fact, one of my friends is always surprised at how things always work out for me.

I'll just keep thinking happy thoughts! Cruise is coming up! :teeth:

Anyone who would like to attend the party in our stateroom on Sunday at 2:00 PM, please PM me your e-mail address for me to add to the evite. Monstro, I've already added you.

Thanks,
Brian

Courtney,
Originally if the house sold when I hoped it would, we were going to come to FL and get our ids, and then rebook. Since the house is taking more time then it should, we are just going to arrive a few days early and take care of business. Keep you fingers crossed, a buyer is coming to see the house tomorrow. If nothing else, we can get annual passes as residents and get to ride the new stuff.

I am still hoping, we have booked a moving van for the 28th, we’ll see.

Holly,
Hang in there, I am right there with you. Trip is paid for but cash is vanishing …. Don’t give up hope, you were so happy just two days ago…. Try not to second guess the fun…regardless of the stress… you NEED the fun

Thanks tggrbuny for your words of encouragement! Things always work out, so I'm not going to worry much. Did lots of figuring and juggling today to come up with a plan to get back on track in a couple weeks. Smooth sailing after that. Hey, lets hope for smooth sailing on our cruise too! :teeth:

Good luck getting your house sold quickly! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

My wife LOVES that dog too!

She wanted to know what kind it is?

HI! Just an added piece of info on this, we were able to rebook at FL rates for our July cruise...this one is on points! :goodvibes My husband, at that point, did not have his Florida ID. Illinois is our primary residence so we didn't need new licenses. So if someone wanted to book ahead they could get the rate. If they don't have the ID, the CM on the phone said it would go back to the original rate. Our appointment for getting our state ID's was set for first thing in the morning, did it online. :) For us we were out in less than 15 minutes, that was Orange County. My husband's state ID was only $3, so maybe the process isn't that long if you don't relinquish your Driver's License. If it would be less time, that might be an option...especially if whomever it was that is moving could get to Florida before the move date. It's an idea  . Florida State ID's are considered good for state ID.

Hey Holly...sorry to hear about your stress. We hurt for your struggle. Remeber though, "FAITH, TRUST, AND PIXIE DUST!" It will all work out! We will look forward to seeing you on Sept. 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's a ShihTzu. We never had a house pet until him.. I agreed to it with one condition - we keep his hair short. I do not like the traditional ShihTzu hair cut.

So you have friends from Scottland on the cruise? That's cool. We just added an Englishman to our cabin. I'll see if I can get a picture for our virtual cruise site.

Holly,

I like your positive attitude!!! We're looking forward to meeting you ......... and everyone else for that matter.

Question for everyone on our cruise:

Are you planning on dressing up for pirate night?

I'm starting to read a lot of "not many people dressed up for pirate night on our cruise". If I "encourage" DH to wear something piratey and then hardly any other adults are dressed up, he may be a little "miffed" with me. So, now I'm getting very curious.

Thanks.

Monstro: I ALWAYS stay positive. If things are stressful in life, getting upset won't help it get better, just adds to the stress.

Looking forward to meeting your group too, as well as everybody else! :cool1:

Nuzmom: I didn't dress up on 1st cruise because I didn't know about it. Tyler and I both brought pirate costumes 2nd time and will this time. In fact, I had to buy a new one for Tyler because he wears his a few times a week and it's REALLY worn out!

Last time I bought my costume from Halloween USA. The skirt fell apart in the wash, but I still have the rest. I'll just buy a black skirt that looks piratey and will be good to go! Hmmm.....Maybe black capri pants would even be all right. And cheaper because all the summer stuff should be on clearance soon.

Nuzmom,

We are dressing up too. One the best things about being silly on vacation is chances are you are never going to see most of those people again.

Often when we dress up (like for Mickey's Not So Scary...) people comment to us that wish they had thought to do it. Besides think of the great pictures you will have. :thumbsup2

One more call out for the party in our room. If you are interested in attending, please PM me with your e-mail address and I will add you to the invitation (evite).

Thanks,
Brian

As I am sure everyone is well aware, the UM/FSU game will be on Monday night (Labor Day), as we are well on our way to St. Maarten. Any interest out there? It will be on ABC - I assume that the game will be shown somewhere on the ship, so I will find it and will be there with some sort of libation as the Seminoles get their annual whooping! Anyone else going to be following this with me? :drinking1

And I forgot to mention....Tyler will probably be wearing his pirate costume EVERY DAY, or so he informed me last night! pirate: So that smelly little pirate running around will be mine! :rotfl: Seriously though, I'll limit his wearing it. I already told him he can't wear it when we're off the ship (would be too hot), and I'll have to wash it a couple times in the sink I'm sure (not worth a whole load of laundry for just that), so I think we'll be fine. Hey, that cuts down on the amount of packing I need to do for him! :rotfl2: KIDDING!!!!
