2006 UG Question

I just bought an '05 UG cause I couldn't stand it any longer. We are going in March, so do you think it is neccesary to buy the '06 UG? I really hate to shell out another $20 bucks if I don't have to.

I am not sure. I am in the same boat as you though. I just bought the 2005 edition and we are also going in March. When are you going? We will be in sunny orlando March 12-24. I really don't want to shell out more money if it's going to be the same stuff. Hopefully someone can give us the answer!

I am using the 2004 edition for our trip in Sept. '05. I have found it to still be very reliable. The ticket prices and some restaurant prices have changed and there are a couple of attractions that are not in there (esp. ones brought in for the celebration), but overall, it has been worth it to not spend the extra $$ and any info. not in the book, i can get on these boards, which have been so very helpful!!! I write in my books, so I fill in any new info that I feel I might need.

Most of the UG is exactly the way it was originally written. Very little is changed except for new attractions. If you have one copy you'll never need to buy another.

You can go to the UG website- it's www.touringplans,com - and print out updates to the current info. Also, the UG is updated several times per year- each new printing, it gets updated. You should be pretty good for your trip with the 2005 edition.

I'm waiting for the 2006 guide only because I want the most current info on the things that were added and changed this year.

The big changes for '06 that aren't on the website are in the Transportation, Lodging, and Dining sections. If you've already got a handle on those, MeetingMickeyin2006, you should be okay with the '05 edition.

Like the others said, you can get the updates on the website, however, if you feel the need to get the new book I would suggest ordering it from www.overstock.com, they have it for $12.58 and $1.00 for shipping, a great value.
