2006 Hurricane names ~ did you make the list?

I was on the list last year. "Tammy", I was a tropical storm only though I believe but I did bring lots of rain to my home state when they really needed it, so I was happy about that. It was funny, cause people from home were calling me and when I'd answer they'd start off by saying "thanks for the rain"..lol...well, you're quite welcome..

Qestion: why do they retire names???

So that when someone refers to Hurricane Katrina in the future, they'll know which hurricane they're talking about.

Retired hurricanes are ones in which there was loss of life (if I'm not mistaken.)

No, actually DH - Keith has been retired. Emily was a hurricane last year, and Hannah (Hanna) is on the list for future names - I can't remember which year. My name will never make the list.

The year Hurricane Mitch hit, I was still with ex husband, his name (Mitch), mine and DS23's names were all on the same list.
