Cindy,
What great deal did they offer you?
The rooms are amazing.... that is what sold us.... 2 bathrooms!!!!! in the 1 bedroom.
Welcome to the neighborhood.
It was weird to see the models, because they are very different from Hilton Head, yet, they had a feel of Hilton Head to us for some reason. I'm not sure why that is, maybe the size because size wise, they are very much comparable to the villas at Hilton Head.
The bathroom in the 1 bedroom was big. Walker climbed into the bathtub and claimed "I'll sleep here" while Gary was drooling over the shower. But....what fascinated Walker more was the fact that they used that foam-stuff in the toilets so that no one had the urge to use any of them. I just hope Walker doesn't decide to try that trick at home.
For us, we thought we'd round up to an even 600 points (unless you ask Gary, who is thinking that may not be enough) so the incentive is in the 110 or more points category. Here's a picture I copied from over on the DVC Community Board:
So, for us, we'll have a $944 credit and an additional 118 points to be used by the end of 2008. Although we have no plans as of today of what to do with those points, I'm sure we'll figure something out.
We still haven't decided if this is a go. I'm going away for the weekend with the Boy Scouts to MI, so we'll have to make a decision Sunday when I get home. I'm not sure why we're dragging our feed, maybe because we know that we won't be able to get into the Mall before Monday night anyway.
Stacy, as far as the goodies, we received Mickey Ears, pins, blinky pins, buttons and this canvas type thing that is made to hang on a doorknob. It's kind of cute, with different pockets and a spot to hang your keys from it. All of the merchandise has Disney's Doorway to Dreams on it. My favorite, favorite item, though, were these magnet clips. Huge clips, strong magnets, perfect for our refrigerator which has anything and everything important hanging on it.
I went into this event thinking that it was going to be a very hard sell and we were so pleasantly surprised that it was anything but that. We recognized CM's that we didn't even know we'd recognize, one even from Hilton Head in the early years of us going there. They were all very friendly and never gave us the rushed feeling whatsoever. When we walked out into the mall to see that all the stores were closed, we were so surprised that it was actually that late because we had no idea so much time had passed. They even had an area for the kids with toys and movies playing, which was a nice touch.
For some reason, they feel that the Chicagoland area is a big market for DVC. I guess we're lucky to live here for that at least.
