That was my house as a kid....Santa opened all the boxes and assembled the stuff. He does that here too. Maybe it's a NY thing?

Hmm in Iowa the presents came wrapped - but if they made noise when they were manufactured they didn't make noise when Santa brought them. For instance - my big wheel did not make the tick tick noise when I rode it - it was shhhhhh silent. Isn't Santa funny?

OMG, I finally got all caught up. Only took me 4 days. Wish I had time to comment on all I've read, too. But alas, I have a fussy baby in the other room that wants some attention. Oh well, see y'all later.

BTW, Santa is a WIMP!!! He has nothing on Chanukah Harry... He has 8 nights of in a row to get to every house...

Cindy, Cash doesn't have to be boring, how does this sound.. go to a craft store and get a box (maybe one that looks like a treasure chest... Next, go to a BANK (not a S&L, and ask a teller to request some Dollar Rolls (they used to have rolls of all Sacagawea coins, now it is mixed).You can also get $2 bills. They are all still in circulation, but difficult to find. A Bank usually gets a delivery once a week, so it may take a couple of weeks...

You can even paint the box Castaway Cay Fund..... Something original for you to considder. *

*I usually take some $2 bills when I travel to the Bahamas and add one to a tip if someone does something really special for me. Since they are such a rarity, people really apreciate it...

As a kid in Illinois, Santa always wrapped all of the gifts, unless they were a bike. Then, there was a picture taken of it in front of the tree and all the presents, and then the picture was always hidden on the tree as an ornament. And, the bike was hidden in the garage.

Here in FL, Santa also wraps everything, including stocking gifts.

We gave Santa a break and he doesnt have to wrap his gifts here. When I was growing up he didnt wrap them either.
Lets face it with 4 kids Santa would be having some severe hand cramps here, lol.

Santa wraps most/every thing including items in the stockings. (bikes and pooltable where put together and ready to go) This year Santa's comming this Saturday! Then on Christmas he will bring stockings and maybe a small gift to Disney.

OOohhhh, early Santa visit, how nice?!?!?!?! I wouldn't be ready for Santa to come early to our house. Heck, we don't even have our tree up yet. Emily keeps asking about it, so I guess I need to dig it out of the garage.

Amy my husband is an American czech. Czechoslovakia's Christmas is December 6. So we will do christmas then. Normaly it's stockings on the 6th.But when we go to Disney we ask the Santas to switch their loads.Stockings and birthday cake on the American Christmas. My kids have been raised with both Santas.So switching loads is worked out between the Santas.The Morning of the 6th there will be a note from the Czech Santa saying that the American Santa asked him to bring the presents .So, the American Santa will bring the stockings.

Santa and Mrs. Claus wrap everything (unless someone is getting a bike). They start the evening of Dec 23, open a bottle of wine, Santa puts things in boxes, Mrs. Claus wraps them. Then if they didn't drink too much wine the packages will get ribbon and bows

HA HA HA - that's the best one yet!

Santa still comes to my parents (um and my sister's the youngest at almost 30) and he still wraps, but he leaves the presents under the tree early and doesn't wrap the stocking items.

That is really cool!!! I like to see when families include their heritage traditions. I really think that it give kids a broader knowledge of the world growing up!!!

Nick would absolutely love Hilton Head. Cameron will tell you, it's awesome. We love the lack of structure and relaxing all day long doing "nothing" but having a great time of it.

We'll be there the last week of July. The villa's there are huge -- want to join us??

That commute down the Northway must be a pain. I stayed across the street from SUNY at the Cresthill Suites.

I know exactly were you stayed.
I really hate the Northway sometimes. There have been times (usually during the winter) when it has taken us like 2 hours to get home. The worst part is I'm only going maybe 20 miles from work to my house!
