If I hadnt been able to book the crusie I would.....I would have called Member Services today and got on the waitlist. Then I would start praying. If all else failed I would just be happy with our May cruise but sad come October when I couldn't sail with all my DIS friends.

I cant believe Im actually having a real time posting...
This is a first for me :Pinkbounc

Arent you supossed to be packing for DL?

It was January 2007, now it is January 2008. I think there is some strong lobbying going on that the date keeps getting pushed back.

From the State Department website
New Requirements for Travelers Between the United States and the Western Hemisphere

The Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 requires that by January 1, 2008, travelers to and from the Caribbean, Bermuda, Panama, Mexico and Canada have a passport or other secure, accepted document to enter or re-enter the United States. In order to facilitate the implementation of this requirement, the Administration is proposing to complete it in phases following a proposed timeline, which will be published in the Federal Register in the near future.

This is a change from prior travel requirements and will affect all United States citizens entering the United States from countries within the Western Hemisphere who do not currently possess valid passports. This new requirement will also affect certain foreign nationals who currently are not required to present a passport to travel to the United States. Most Canadian citizens, citizens of the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda, and to a lesser degree, Mexican citizens will be affected by the implementation of this requirement.

Gail, you received your vacation magic today?

A picture of a rainbow.....how could that be the winning picture from the phot contest. I thought they were looking for something specific to the cruise.

Oh well, congratulations to the winner!! :cool1: :cool1:

I received it on Saturday along with the new Vacation Planner and the "suprise" gift they sent.

Inside on page two JL (I wonder if he minds that we refer to him as JL :teeth: )wrote about the cruise. The 4th paragraph said
"Many of those memories are sure to live on in Members' photo albums, as the cameras were out in full force. Cast Members here in Florida tell me they had a lot of fun sorting through the pictures Members submitted through our photo contest, and I'm pleased to present the winning photo here. Congratulations to Cindi Baran of Hendersonville, NC for capturing a stunning rainbow above beautiful Key West, Fla."

Was there more than one photo contest?

I remember the date change from Dec 31, 2005 to Dec 31, 2006 - I didn't know they changed it again to Dec 31, 2007. That's ok, we bit the bullet and bought passports anyways, just to preserve the birth certificates - they are starting to show their age :rotfl2:

I think that was the only one. I'll have to be on the lookout for ours. :3dglasses

Congrats to all who got a stateroom for this cruise, you will have a great time for sure.

I saw Mary (ILUNDISNEY) later that Sat Morning, she was on cloud nine, and able to take a breath. We were very happy for her, her elation was evident.

Nice of you to stop by Scott.
I bunch of us are on cloud 9 :cloud9: . Although looking at some of the countdowns for trips you have up and coming could make someone envious!
Sorry you won't be cruising with us. I won't get to see your neat GPS as we pull into Castaway Cay

OK, I'm gone for 2 days and I have 14 pages to read. And someone (Tim) said that the thread would be quiet if I was gone. HA, HA, HA!!! He has a LOT to learn about this crazy group!!!

Anyway, we're back from WDW and it was a LOT of fun. Now, to go back and read my 14 pages.

For those of us without passports, we still don't need them for this cruise, correct? The requirement was changed to 1/1/07......right????

Does anyone know for certain???
That is what MS told me when I was making our cruise arrangements on
Saturday. Passports were not necessary until 1/1/07

We're so glad that everyone liked the SSMC05 picture DVD.

And snow?!?!??! It was sunny and in the upper 70s yesterday and today. When are you moving down, Diana???

Hi Jeff,

It's funny you mention pirate night. What I remember most about that dinner was the crab cakes. Pirate night was by far my favorite meal on the entire cruise. :cool1: :cool1: I look forward to it again -- already!! :teeth:
And, we missed pirate night for Palo. I don't know that I would do that again. I LOVED Palo, but I don't know that we'll do it again this member cruise. Too much going on, and I'm sad that we missed pirate night.

Ok, since DVC will be celebrating 15 years............

What kind of special events do you Vets figure they will have for us!?!

plus..........

Are they really going to offer FREE Transfers to the Ship? I have already rented a vehicle but I was informed that parking will be $12.00 a day at port! That takes away from Konk Koolers!

TIA

janet

Free Transfers, really??? Is that new? Did I miss something? Ok, I need to keep reading the thread to find out. Heck, I don't know why I really care, since I live here in FL and will just drive over.

Poor Dan. He gets picked on in this thread almost as much as you do, Diana. ;)

Dan, Mrs.Lips. I wonder if these people know they have a following. Who else can't I think of that keeps getting mentioned? I'm sure there are others I'm not thinking of right now.
What about Henry the vacuum??? Did anyone mention him?

WDWLVR said:
Let's see who we talk about most:

Mrs. Lips on ebay

Dan who likes a clean bus

Captain Henry

Henry the vacuum cleaner
See, I knew that Henry the vacuum would come up!!!

Hey, have you guys seen Tyler's tree? He has 1000 ornaments now! It's amazing what generous people DISer's are! :wizard:
WOW, that is awesome for little Tyler. I've been checking his tree periodically, and the last time I looked he was around 830.

They could have split us up, right Amy & Diana. Kids at one table with the dad's, ladies at another. :teeth: :teeth: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Now that could have been an interesting dining arrangement. We could have laughed at all the dads trying to keep the kids from making a HUGE mess.
