Alrighty, now that I'm having a full blown conversation with myself, it's 12:30, I'm wide awake and deaf!! Aerosmith was ok. I mean the price on the ticket was $125 (I got them free) but if I paid $125 for the ticket, I would have gone up to Steven Tyler and asked for my money back because 1. The seats were really far away to be that expensive. 2. He only sang like 4 songs I knew, and none of the songs I really wanted to hear. and 3. There are some freaks that go to Aerosmith concerts!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: I was never in my life hit on by more freaky dudes with wedding bands on their fingers!! :earseek: I've had enough, I'm too old for this and I was one of the younger ones there! I just want my hearing back!! :rotfl2:

Hopefully your hearing a bit better today. :goodvibes

That's probably exactly how I would feel at a concert these days. Like I said, I haven't been to one since the dark ages. I'm sure they have changed a lot!

Okay, this has got to stop. I've been talking to myself.

I guess everyone else is busy. That would be an understatement in my house these days. Gosh, it must be December. We are always so busy in December around here. April too for some reason? :confused3

Cameron had a music performance last night. It's their "formal" affair once a year. Last night was 4th, 5th and 6th grades. They make a big deal about the kids coming in nice, dressy clothes, no jeans. I can't tell you how many kids looked rather shabby. It was kind of an eyeopener. Cameron looked really sharp in his "cruise clothes" as did Walker who took it upon himself to wear his "fancy clothes" because Cameron did.

There was one boy, a bigger boy, who wore a bright red tee-shirt. The boys location on the stage was smack dab in the middle of the top row. No one in the audience could miss him --- especially with the wording on his t-shirt --- "Take my parents please". I wondered what type of parent would allow their child to go to that performance not only wearing a t-shirt but one like that? Sometimes, I don't get it. It must be because I was born in the dinosaur ages? :confused3

Things have been a bit crazier than usualy in my daycare. With the holiday's coming, we're working extra hard on those special packages for the little ones to take home and put underneath their Christmas trees. I love to do things with their hands and feet so the parents have a concrete measurement of the size they are each year. We're in the process of making cute little angel ornaments using a tracing of their feet and hands. Good thing I'm not using paint right now to do prints with their hands......the babies absolutely hate that. :scared: I always find it amazing how strong the little ones can get when I try and paint the inside of their hands. Most of them close it up into a fist and become little Tarzans who are stronger than me to try and open it. So, we wait and wait for them to relax and open it on their own so I can make their handprints. It's pretty comical.

Amy, have you made a chain yet for Emily to count down the days until Christmas? It is Decmeber 1st now and I'm certain she's getting excited.

My kids shopping list grows more and more with every commercial they see on TV. Cameron wants a Civil War bugle......he left us a Christmas list. The only problem? Cameron found it online someplace and didn't leave us the website. So, that's on my list of things to do.....figure out exactly where I can find the one he's looking at? Sneaky, sneaky, sneaky.

I can't believe call in day is just around the corner. :cheer2: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Gosh, it feels like we've been waiting forever.

Good Morning all!!!!!!!!
Let's see, in exactly 2 days from right about now I will be doing my best to keep my finger from being very sore...

I have no clue what the post count will be on cruise day, but it will be quite high. I figure the posting in this thread will drop a few day after call in date and will pick way up in September.... Whaddya all think?

Jeff, I am the one, I sent you a PM...Jody Benson had DW and me in tears...Contrast her singing with some of the current "Disney Stars" they just don't have the feeling in their voices...

I'll see you all later...

No way! I think the chatting will just get started come Saturday! Then it will go full force until we cruise and then after if the 2005 thread is any indication!

As to where we'll be....hmmmm

The 2005 thread made it over 12,000 before sailing.

The 10 day thread made it to 24,000 on sailing day.

I would think this one could at least make it to 15,000 :)

Did Someone want a Cruise ship Smiley?
I think Geffric has one in her Siggie...

Her it is...

To all my friends trying to get on SSMC06. I've seen this before but it was forwarded to me today and I think as we start the holiday season it is an important reminder.

A young man learns what's most important in life from the guy next door. It had been some time since Jack had seen the old man. College, girls, career, and life itself got in the way. In fact, Jack moved clear across the country in pursuit of his dreams. There, in the rush of his busy life, Jack had little time to think about the past and often no time to spend with his wife and son. He was working on his future, and nothing could stop him.

Over the phone, his mother told him, "Mr.. Belser died last night. The funeral is Wednesday."

Memories flashed through his mind like an old newsreel as he sat quietly remembering his childhood days.

"Jack, did you hear me?"

"Oh sorry, Mom. Yes, I heard you. It's been so long since I thought of him. I'm sorry, but I honestly thought he died years ago," Jack said.

"Well, he didn't forget you. Every time I saw him he'd ask how you were doing. He'd reminisce about the many days you spent over 'his side of the fence' as he put it," Mom told him.

"I loved that old house he lived in," Jack said.

"You know, Jack, after your father died, Mr. Belser stepped in to make sure you had a man's influence in your life," she said.

"He's the one who taught me carpentry," he said. "I wouldn't be in this business if it weren't for him. He spent a lot of time teaching me things he thought were important...Mom, I'll be there for the funeral," Jack said.

As busy as he was, he kept his word. Jack caught the next flight to his hometown. Mr. Belser's funeral was small and uneventful. He had no children of his own, and most of his relatives had passed away.

The night before he had to return home, Jack and his Mom stopped by to see the old house next door one more time.

Standing in the doorway, Jack paused for a moment. It was like crossing over into another dimension, a leap through space and time.

The house was exactly as he remembered. Every step held memories. Every picture, every piece of furniture....Jack stopped suddenly.

"What's wrong, Jack?" his Mom asked.

"The box is gone," he said.

"What box?" Mom asked.

"There was a small gold box that he kept locked on top of his desk. I must have asked him a thousand times what was inside. All he'd ever tell me was 'the thing I value most, '" Jack said.

It was gone. Everything about the house was exactly how Jack remembered it, except for the box. He figured someone from the Belser family had taken it.

"Now I'll never know what was so valuable to him," Jack said. "I better get some sleep. I have an early flight home, Mom."

It had been about two weeks since Mr. Belser died. Returning home from work one day Jack discovered a note in his mailbox. "Signature required on a package. No one at home. Please stop by the main post office within the next three days," the note read.

Early the next day Jack retrieved the package. The small box was old and looked like it had been mailed a hundred years ago. The handwriting was difficult to read, but the return address caught his attention.

"Mr. Harold Belser" it read.

Jack took the box out to his car and ripped open the package There inside was the gold box and an envelope. Jack's hands shook as he read the note inside.

"Upon my death, please forward this box and its contents to Jack Bennett. It's the thing I valued most in my life." A small key was taped to the letter. His heart racing, as tears filling his eyes, Jack carefully unlocked the box. There inside he found a beautiful gold pocket watch.

Running his fingers slowly over the finely etched casing, he unlatched the cover.

Inside he found these words engraved:

"Jack, Thanks for your time! -Harold Belser."

"The thing he valued most...was...my time."

Jack held the watch for a few minutes, then called his office and cleared his appointments for the next two days. "Why?" Janet, his assistant asked.

"I need some time to spend with my son," he said. "Oh, by the way, Janet...thanks for your time!"

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away,"

Think about this. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.

* At least 2 people in this world love you so much they would die for you.

* At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.

* A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't know you.

* Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.

* You mean the world to someone.

* If not for you, someone may not be living.

* You are special and unique.

* When you think you have no chance of getting what you want, you probably won't get it, but if you trust God to do what's best, and wait on His time, sooner or later, you will get it or something better.

* When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good can still come from it.

* When you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look: you most likely turned your back on the world.

* Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.

* Always tell someone how you feel about them; you will feel much better when they know and you'll both be happy.

* If you have a great friend, take the time to let them know that they are great.

Send this letter to all the people you care about, if you do so, you will certainly brighten someone's day and might change their perspective on life...for the better.

To everyone I sent this to "Thanks for your time"

David, I have to disagree. We seemed to post most on the SSMC05 thread in the couple of months prior to the cruise (starting early summer I would say). It was not uncommon for people to have pages and pages of catching up to do when they checked in every night.

I'm going to guess we're going to be about the 20,000 post number by the time we sail next October. :cool1: :cool1:

That didn't take long! :cool1:
And we still have 3 days before we can call in.
God only knows how many pages there will be by cruise time.
I think that the post count will definitely exceed SSMC05. We are quite the chatty group with the veterans from SSMC05, then we've added some lively folks on to our awesome group. We're going to have a LOT of fun getting to know each other over the next 11 months. :earseek: YIKES, did I say 11 months??? That just seems WAY too far away.

Amy, is Chris playing Santa again this year? I may have some techie questions for him in the near future. I'll PM you about that.
Hey, how are you??? Good to see you around here. We haven't heard from Sears this year about Santa, so I'm guessing that maybe they found someone else. Plus, we've been so busy that we haven't really thought about it. Ask away about the techie questions, you can PM me or Chris.

Just wanted to post to say hi! We have never been on a cruise, and hoping that this member cruise will be our first. :wizard:
I have to tell you this week I have been a nervous wreck, scared that we won't be able to get on the ship.
I mean I'm sure "everyone" will call right at 9 am, so won't the phones get crowded, and possible not work?! :earseek: My luck we will be waiting for hours and it will disconnect me! lol
Realistically, how long do you think we may have to wait on the line, if we call right when the lines open? Anyone ever say the record time of waiting was?
+ + + It will be me and dh, and ds13, and hopefully an infant(middle of an adoption) who will be sailing. + + +
PS: It would be nice to have a cruise ship smilie <hint hint> :goodvibes
Welcome to this crazy, chatty group!!! Jump right in and start talking.

I would say just keep hitting redial and make sure that you give MS your phone number, just in case you get disconnected.

Good luck on the adoption!!!

As usual, I agree with Amy! :goodvibes

And I forgot to answer the GTNYFC question from yesterday for me my most grossed out food is MILK! Go figure. When I get it on my hands I gag and choke. It never really was an issue to me until I had kids. :scared: Now I try my best to avoid the stuff like the plague. I have no clue why milk....but no milk for me. (Choc milk is ok for some reason--must be the chocolate!)

Well, I guess that it's a good thing that the tickets were given to you. I hate when I pay a lot of money for something and it's disappointing. And, I refuse to pay over $100 for any concert (no one is THAT good to separate me from my money). That being said, we did pay $100 for a BNL concert last NYE, but it included a buffet and drinks, so we thought it was worth it. Now, BNL is coming back to Tampa this year for NYE and we thought about going again, but they raised the price to $150. NO WAY!!! It definitely wasn't worth that!!!

Late to the game I am.......busy, busy, busy. If it wasn't for early mornings, I'd never make it to this thread.

Anyway, food I hate? Hmmmm, I have several that I dislike but I'm not sure I've run into anything I absolutely hate yet. I don't like a lot of meat. I don't like chocolate. :earseek: There are some things I've never tried and never plan to try -- organ meat is one of them.

I'm just going to hope I never have to find out exactly what I hate.
That's ok Cindy, we like seeing you here any time that you can make it.

And, I still can't believe that you don't like chocolate. That's a girls best friend. That's ok, I'll just take all of yours. :rotfl2:

Does anyone want to take a guess? That might be a cool little contest? :cool1: :cool1:

As the Wonder set sail for the SSMC05, VerandahMan posted post #12045 on that thread (it was so hard to pick a specific end time as so many posted even from the ship, but anyway, that's one of the ship actually setting sail).

Does anyone want to take a guess as to how many posts there will be on this thread come sail day??? :cheer2: :cheer2:
I'm going to say that we'll be in the 16,000 range, especially since we're on page 100 and we haven't even booked yet.
