You can count us in. Or should I say ME in? Since we are going on the 11 day in Sept. DH doesn't think another 4 day in October will fit into his schedule. Jamie (dd-13) thinks it needs to be a girls only trip with me, her and two of her friends. so, once the points/cash chart comes out we can talk to her friends parents.

My Dec. 3 is already busy. Got dress rehearsal for a musical Jamie is in and then we are hoping to fly out Sat. early afternoon to do a Dis meet with our PC friends for the candlelight processional at DL that night. The good thing is we are on Mountain Standard Time and it shouldn't mess me up too bad!

It took me 2 hours with two different cell phones last time to get through. Got a category 6. This time I think we will go without the verandah since I only had time to go out on it once or twice.

I've been busy doing scrapbook expos and stuff since I got home. I already have an idea for the next scrapbook class if anyone is up for it. Maybe we could do it at 7 in the morning and then we wouldn't conflict with anything!

Okay, back to work. I'll keep checking back!

Linda

Good Morning Mary! Thanks for posting! I SOOOO look forward to this message each week. I have an online calendar at work that pops up every morning and the message states the number of days until we can call in! I really hope all of us from the DIS make it onboard. There are several people I didn't have the pleasure of meeting on the last cruise. Annmarie

Ditto for me!
I am anxiously awaiting more details!

We are new DVC members and aren't even in Disney's system yet, so I keep coming here hoping for details!!

Thanks for all the posts! :sunny:

I want the points chart posted!
We just purchased an add-on so hopefully we will have enough points to use points only and save our cash! :cool1:

I'm sure that somewhere in the previous 17 pages this has been asked, but I can't seem to find it when scrolling through, so can someone answer this question for me? For the 2005 Member cruise, what were the points and cash amounts needed to pay for a Category 6? My husband and I are pretty sure we are going to try to go in 2006 and we have some friends (also DVC members) that are interested too. They were asking about points, but I had no idea. We are both wanting a Cat. 6.

Edited: Never mind, found it. I had scrolled through starting at the end and going forward. Never made it to page 2, which had the answer to my question. With the increase in the price of the Disney Cruise, does anyone have a guess as to how much the points and cash price might go up...I'm kind of points poor right now with two Grand Villas booked for 2006. Might need to change one to a 2-bedroom so that we can cruise!

Don't forget that the 2006 cruise is going to be sailing at a different "season" than the 2005 cruise. So, I would imagine that it's going to be more expensive.

I did some comparisons from last years regular 4-night sailings in Sept compared to the member cruise in Sept. For a cat 10 (which is what we sailed), for a regular Sept cruise it was 111 pts per person, but the member cruise was 115 pts per person. Most of the categories were 4-6 points per person more for the member cruise.

So, for the 2006 cruise, since we're cruising in October, here's the comparison that I would make. A regular Cat 10 for a 4-night sailing in October is 131 pts per person. So I would guess that when the points chart comes out for the 2006 member cruise, that the same cat 10 is going to go for at least 135 pts per person (or more).

Hi Laura - I don't think that you're able to get a cat 2 or 3 on the member cruise. I believe that they use some of these rooms for special guests, etc. I don't remember the order of things, but I believe that they will verify membership first. Then you'll give the MS CM your cruise info, passengers, category, dinner seating, etc. Then, they put you on hold and contact the cruise people to get your cruise reservation in place. You much pay in full on the day of reservation if you're paying cash. If points, then they will immediately take the points for the cruise. Hope that helps.

Thanks Amy....

I could swear at least Cat 3's were availible on previous Member cruises.. hmmmm Sucks if they are not. And a big YOUCH for paying in full.... We are looking at around 3-5ooo bucks.... a lot to cough up all at once... Hopefully the point/cash rates will be posted soon, so we know how much trouble we are in...

So I guess we will be going for two connecting Cat 6's again....

My plan so far... arrive late on Friday night.. hang out Saturday, get an early start for port on Sunday, then kick at BCV for 2 days after the cruise... maybe wandering over to F&W....

I took a look at the points chart from this past cruise and they only had through cat 4, so I'm going to guess that it's the same for this one.

It must have just been for the first memebers cruise. Darn. Thanks for checking into it for me.

The first thing I do is give them my telephone number so if we get disconnected they can call me back immediately!!

You can wait list for a higher category and then if they open up they will call you. I know concierge level was available on points last time.

Linda

I thought this would come in handy..... this LAST YEARS INFO 2005... NOT 2006's CRUISE PRICES/POINTS But I do notice that Cat 3's are listed.... makes me hopeful!
