Does anyone know if after you booked and one person cannot attend the member cruise can you change the names on your ressie through DVC?

We really want to attend and I am going to try and book it on call in day. My dh was just worried about something happening and not being able to attend. He wants to know our options.

Thanks. Happy Cruise Planning!!

I believe that any change you make to the reservation will be charged a $75 change fee.

Yep - nothing like having a Saturday morning chat with friends. Since we have two phone lines and neither one is used for the computer any more it made it easy. We were both logged on the DIS and each calling in. Mark's phone was the one that got through - then he handed it to me to handle the call while he posted that we were on hold. At this point a few others like Robin and Amy had already made it through and were posting. Then Robin opened up chat. It was nice to hear encourgement about wait times etc. Also that's when we found out tips were included in the price. It got the day off to a fun start!

If I remember correctly, the $75 fee was waived for the initial reservation.

I can remember that morning very well and I can also remember doing my "happy dance" in between chatting with everyone! I got thru at about 1 minute past 9 and was estatic!!! :cheer2:

Karen - you are correct that the inital $75 was waived. However she was asking about changing names and I think any changes still had the $75 fee.

Yeah, and you guys told me that the tips were included. I guess because I got in SO early in the process, my DVC agent didn't know that they were included.

I remember chat that morning too.

I think it was one of my first, if not my first, visits.

I got through first on my cell phone. Waiting for a CM to answer, Gary continued to dial in and did so until I had a CM on the line. The first thing I did was give her my phone number so that if I was disconnected, she would have been able to call me back.

I hope all goes as smoothly this time. :teeth:

Hi DVC Cruisers. I have a question. How many staterooms can a DVC'r book? I'd like to convince my DVC owning (but not yet a cruising) pal to consider this trip for next year. I know he'll want us to have our own staterooms, so I just want to make sure he can book more than one before I bring it up.

Thanks!

Yep, he can book more than one. As long as you have the points or cash, you can book as many as you want.

Chris and I were doing the same thing. He was on his cell and I was on our regular phone. We started dialing and I ended up getting a CM right away, and he ended up getting one just a minute or two later. As soon as I started the booking, Chris dropped the CM that he got, so someone else could book. Boy, it was so nerve-wracking, but once it was over, I was giddy all over!!!

Giddy is a good word. :teeth:

I didn't think it would be difficult to get through. I was in charge of cashiering at the preschool book fair that day. Fortunately, I was able to get through and make it to the school in time to help set up. I would have felt uneasy leaving Gary to try and get through but I would have held up my volunteer duties. Who knows, maybe it would have been the difference between getting a cabin and not. I'm glad it worked out the way it did. :cheer2:

I don't know, I was surprised to get in so quickly, that it was almost surreal. We even had a game plan on what cabins we would ask for first. We wanted to give a try for those 6 secret porthole rooms, just to see how they were. Then, we would have tried for a cat 8 or 9. We figured that we didn't need a verandah for only 4 nights, since we had one on a 7 night and didn't use it much at all. I'm not sure what we're going to do this time. Heck, as long as I have a cabin, I'll be happy.

I never did get to see your room. Didn't we walk one night to it together. I should have popped my head in while I had a chance. :)

That's what would have been nice with the room tour -- to get a glance at all the different categories. Maybe some day on a longer cruise the opprotunity will come up again. I know Lisa put a lot of work into arranging it to have it conflict with something else was tough. Sometimes that's just how things happen.

For anyone I woke up cancelling the tour, I apologize. Lisa scared the daylights out of me that night with her allergic reaction. I never even considered what time it was that I was calling everyone I could get in touch with. And, for those who I didn't get to talk to who had signed up, I apologize again. I never thought I would need the list of who signed up and didn't print it out before we sailed. So all I had was the list of the cabins we were planned to tour.

I don't remember whether we went to my room, or I saw you walking around one night. Heck, I don't know. It was a pretty cool room. I think the thing that I liked the most was that it was on the same floor with all the kids clubs. So, it was easy to get Maddie to the nursery and Emily to the club without going up/down elevators, etc.

I didn't realize you were all in chat that morning. That would have helped. I had a time getting in....lots of busy signals, then endless holds where I had to decide if I was going to hold or try to recall. It was just me on my cell phone. We were JUST back from WDW. Mike and KT were at a game. I remember leaving the ex-dog in the kennel for two extra days (no pickup on Sunday) so picking her up wouldn't interfere with my calling. Finally I checked the boards and found out the 1-800 number was having trouble so I called the 407 number and got right in!! WHEW! I also remember calling Gma Lightbulb and letting her know to call the 407 number. After that, SHE got right in!!

Maybe i should have Mike request that morning off of work so he can help this time!

Man you guys are making me wish we could go this time! I was in chat and dialing 2 phones while Mr. Matt was asleep - ha. You guys helped me with my room request and we loved our room.

Cindy - no worries on waking us up that morning, we laughed about it a ton!

So does this mean that I could book more than one room even if it is for friends that are not DVC members. Our friends are thinking about becoming members and would like to go on the cruise but I don't think they will buy before December. They have a trip planned for Feb and would like to go on the tour before they decide.

What is the 407 number? My DH and I are hoping to get a reservation for this Members cruise, our first DCL cruise. We attended Member Homecoming and will be at the Members Champagne Brunch on October 30, but we weren't able to sail on the other member cruises.

The 407 number should be on the back of your membership card. This is how I got in as well. :ssst: Don't let everyone know about it! ;)

How well I remember that day. My former neighbor and was visiting that weekend. She was such a good sport. Just hung out in the kitchen drinking tea and chatting with DH while I was on hold and in chat.
