Amy is the queen of Circle Journals. I'm sure she'll pop in with some expert advice. :goodvibes

The number of sign in pages you will need probably depends on what you are going to use to have people sign in. Everyone did a little different approach. How I'm thinking to do it is plan my pages, and then make sure that I have enough tags for everyone to place on the sign in page. If I need multiple pages, that should come to light because of the placement of the tags. Does that help?

When you start out, you will have your cover pages, your rules page, your sign in page(s) and then your first spread.

Cindy, Amy, Diana and other scrappers,
I thought I had this down but I'm confused by the "sign in" page. What is the purpose and what happens to the tags? Do they just sit in a pocket or do they get put on a page and displayed? Is it customary to do tags? Can you just have a lined page for Name, Dis Name, location etc. My idea is to use "tiny" tags and maybe display them all on two pages...is that consisten t with the idea?

ETA: Do not click on any of the link in replies. I changed the loacation of the file in photobucket, not suspecting that there would be other crazies still online at 10:00 pm EST. So the link in Erin & Jeff's replies are broken, the links in my two postings are good to go!!:thumbsup2

The dang site is doing some maintanace and I CAN"T SEE THE VIDEO!!!
That is just wrong!!!

Well I hope everyone enjoys the clip. I guess I'll get to see it sometime tonight when I get home from work. :drive:

And Jeff - No Twisted Tea that night. Just the one drink I had at dinner (whatever drink that was).

Oooh great table shot of the floral etc!

Who ended up with the rose???? and I love the coaster photo :)

None of us got the rose but I asked if I could get a picture of it and they placed it on the table so I could do that.

For my book, the tags just stay in the pocket. I think this year, I'll do the same thing, only use smaller tags and maybe a double pocket to make up for all the tags I need to display.

There's many different ways to do the sign in page. I believe Cindy did her book the way you're describing. Decorate a little tag and paste it on the 2 pages she left for it. You could also very simply do a page with lines where the people can actually sign in right on the page.

If you go to www.twopeasinabucket.com in their gallery search on circle journal, there are lots of ideas and examples to help inspire you.

Good morning everyone! Loved the video! What time was that taken? Was it way before the pirate party or way after?

I did the stick on tags in my last circle journal, but I think I might try and do bigger tags this time in pockets.

You will do two pages in everyones book. These are called a spread -- two pages which face each other. That way, when the book is open, your pages will be together.

When you start out, you will have your cover pages, your rules page, your sign in page(s) and then your first spread. From there, when you receive someone elses book, you'll just do your sign in tag and spread in their book.

I've probably made this as clear as mud. I posted my pages a couple weeks back. If you want to search on them, you could find them or just ask, I'll post them again if it helps.

Mark, are you joining in this time around? Amy, did Gary ever sign up on his own? I suppose I could ask him tonight, but I'll probably forget. I"m off to take Cameron and another boy scout grocery shopping for their campout this weekend. They have a specific list and $$ amount to spent and have to stay within budget. I'm sure it will be an experience.

Then, Thursday night is my night for TV. :happytv:
Good morning everyone!! I had a busy night last night Christmas shopping and watching Survivor.

Anyway, I see that Cindy & Diana have given some info on the Circle Journals. Great pictures, Diana. If you still have questions, let us know.

And Cindy, no, I have not gotten anything from Gary on the CJs.

Thanks for the video clip Curt and Thanks Stacy for a bit of entertainment to get the day rolling. Great Clip!

Here are my sign in pages:

The "tags" themselves were permanantly attached to the background by each person that signed in.

Gary just told me this morning, he's decided to not join in. While I think he'd be excellent at scrabooking, I know that we couldn't work on the book together as Gary is much more detailed oriented than I will ever be. So, I guess he'll just have to enjoy my book when it's done as well as seeing everyone elses work in progress.

I still can't get it to play. I tried to install what I needed to play it, but then our security wouldn't let me continue.

Maybe you can play it when you come to Chicago for me. Since it sounds like Stacy won't be there in person, at least we'll be able to feel for a moment as if she is. Is this a video that goes with the picture of her standing on the chair during the pirate party? ;)

Todd, Cheryl, Amy and Chris (and anyone else who will be in WDW this weekend) - Are you going to be at WDW this weekend at all? I'll be at Pop Century and venturing to all the hotels to film the holiday decorations so if you want to meet up somewhere I'm up for it.
Hey Jeff - We don't have any plans to be at WDW this weekend, but if we do, I can try to call you. Send me a PM with your cell phone number, just in case we change our minds.

Can anyone tell me anything about an iPod?

I'm thinking Cameron might like one for Christmas, but I am very technically challenged in this area (as Mary knows I had no idea what her PDA was although my kids did  ). Gary & Cameron are off camping for the weekend, so I'm thinking of heading up to the mall to check them out. But....I don't want to be at the mercy of the Apple Salesperson either.

Can anyone share any info as to what I might be in the market for?

I thought of you all this morning.

On our Chicago CBS channel they interviewed Jennifer Hudson,

hers is the middle one

Cindy - couple of things, first, on the budget board there is a thread on how Apple has refurbished Ipod shuffles for $29.99 which is a bang up price. The shuffle is the smallest of ipods (in capacity) and the model they are selling is the older model. We ordered 2 for Matt's nephews (one is too little so his will be put away we think) .

Will he just listen to music? Will he play games on it (yes, they can do that if you have the video one), watch movies (the screens are small), store photos?

I have a video ipod (30gb) that is the black one that holds a heck of a lot of video, music, photos etc. I do not have the largest version (in capacity) and I enjoy it but find it hard for my eyes to see the movies clearly. I doubt I fill it up with music as wow that would be challenging.

Matt has the Ipod nano and I think it's the 2 gb. He's filled it up so he has to switch out music to listen too - but he has a lot of music!

Apple does NOT allow their vendors to put these on sale much at all so you really can't get a good price shopping around everyone should have the same. Pricing is in the accessories.

If you buy it direct from Ipod you can have it engraved for free - mine is engraved SP#1 as it was a gift from my parents and I'm Sugar Plum #1 to my dad (awww).

Having said all that let me know if I have helped at all or just made you more confused and what I can explain better.

ROFL that's what Matt said must have happened - we asked them not to put the roses on the "main" tables ;) and your table was one of those. Whew. But glad someone let you borrow :)
