OK folks.... I've been reading the boards and the Member Cruise for 2007 issue seems to have died down. So let me tell you our problem. We've been DVC Members since 2002. A few weeks ago, we were at the Beach Club when we walked into the pre-departure party for the member cruise. We didn't know a soul, but since we planned on going for the 2007 cruise for our 25th anniversary we stayed behind and talked to a few folks. Our interest grew even stronger. (Thanks too for the nice cupcakes). Now we are in a dilemma. I know the hard feelings about the way next year is being offered and yet we were excited about the chance to go on our first cruise for a big celebration. I hope if we get selected, we won't have to wear a first time cruiser pin or something because I don't want to wear my PFD the entire time we are out of our room. I know many of you are considering not going next year, but I hope you will change your minds. I am hoping your comments from this past cruise will make next year's the best ever. I also hope that we will get a chance to cruise and that there won't be any hard feelings once we get abaord. We look forward to the opportunity to meet such a great group.

I'm hoping for everyone that next years cruise is the best yet!! I sincerely hope that DVC has listened to the negative comments they received. We were not planning on SSMC07 due to our DS's school committments, but I can tell you if it had been fantastic, we would have been reconsidering and trying to figure out a way to sail again. As it turned out, DVC just made our decision so much easier for us.

Here's MY personal feeling. DVC is going to want to WOW the new cruisers so I can only hope it's going to be a great time. I almost feel like they let the bar slide down this year so that they would discourage repeat cruisers next year. If that makes any sense? The entire feel of this years cruise was different to me. The planning team even seemed to keep themselves at arms length.

What made this years cruise special for me is the people that I met on the DIS. My advice to you would become involved in your cruise meet thread, when it gets going, so that you have some friendships to fall back on if DVC does drop the ball -- which again, hopefully they won't.

Awe!! How sweet!! Just imagine the empty seats at Julie & Matt's wedding if they hadn't had their DIS friends. I still think it's awesome that you were able to attend!! :cool1:

Stacy, nice new picture of Nick in your signature. I "Wonder" where it was taken? :teeth:

Thanks for the wedding pictures, they are just beautiful as are the bride and groom. What a lovely event!

Also, no one noticed but I did get the 26,000 post, without even trying for it...yay me! Are we still playing that game?

Hope y'all have a nice day!

Congratulations, Ilene!! :cheer2: :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Good morning everyone!!!

Julie - you look SO beautiful!!! Those pictures are AWESOME and you guys look SO happy!!!!

Congrats on 26,000 posts, Ilene!!! :cheer2:

We're having a bit of a wet day here in central FL. But, it's ok since Emily will be at school and Madison is running a fever. So, we'll just be hanging out at home anyway. I need to keep working on holiday shopping, but I'm going to have to wait until Madison is up for all the errands.

Wet for us too -- drizzly but not to cold, yet enough to change my plans of going to the zoo with the daycare. My kids are off of school as today is election day and they don't want all the kids in school with the voters coming inside to vote. So, I'm sure it's going to be a long day around here as I won't venture to a museum because they will be packed to the gills. :scared:

Beautiful pictures of the wedding! Love the bride/groom/DIS shot. It's wonderful you were able to invite some DISers to fill in the no-show spots! :)

On another note.....Mike is working on his Mouse Matters re: the DVC Member Cruise 2007 reservation fiasco. Look for it tomorrow. Be sure to add a comment to it. Maybe DVC will see it (for whatever good that will do)

Hey Karen - meant to tell you I love your new signature. I saw it on someone else's post and thought you would love it.

Probably the person I PM'd and asked if they'd mind if I borrowed it. :)

I sucked my thumb until I was in the first grade. But when I was in kindergarten I ended up in the hospital for a week because of an infection. I had to have surgery - a tube put in to drain it. The doctors said one more day and they would have had to amputate. The worst part about it was I was stuck in the hospital on Halloween. Talk about horrible! I did get out on my birthday, but the nurses threatened to let me out only long enough for my party because I started sucking my other thumb. I was "smart" though. I just didn't let them catch me anymore. It was another year - and out-patient surgery on the other thumb - before I finally quit.
Happy Belated Birthday Robin!! party:

Julie and Matt--your wedding looked incredible. Julie you looked beautiful and your dress was amazing! And the flowers--gorgeous!!
I especially liked the flowers that the flower girls carried. They look like magic wands! pixiedust:

Hi all. We have been so busy around here there has been no time for the Dis. I have been working a lot lately to try to pay off all the gymnastics bills. We found out that both our girls will be going to Chicago in Feb for a meet. They are so excited. So for all you Chicago people what extra things should we do? We were thinking about the Shedd Aquarium and Museum of Science and Industry. We also have to go to the American Girl Store. Any other ideas? We have a room at the Holiday Inn City Center for $84. Has anyone been there. Is it a dump?

Julie and Matt Congratulations. It was so neat to see you at Fantasmic. The people all around us couldn't stop talking about you. The were just amazed that someone was having a wedding at Disney. You both looked amazing.

We just found out that the girls have mandatory pictures and practice on Sat. We were thinking about coming to the meet but now there is no way. We might be able to make it for dinner. Is it too late now?

The girls just got up so time for school. I'll check back later.

I loved your dress Julie, you were a beautiful bride.

Thanks for posting your pictures Curt and Stacy.

Now that (a) the cat is out of the bag and (b) your are up, around and back posting again here is the LAST pic I'm gonna post. The rest I leave to Julie and Matt to do.

This is when we all ran into Tom & Ann Marie at Fantasmic. I love the look on the woman sitting in front of them... "Why do they get food?":lmao:

BTW - IS THAT GAIL & COMPANY SITTING THERE TOO?

We will be trying for the 2007 cruise. I kind of look at this as in going back to 2003 when we had a light premeet group - a good on deck party and then seeing other cruisers on the ship.

Too Funny! Can you imagine what was going through those people's minds?

The girl with the gray jacket sitting to what would be Ann Marie's right looks like it could be Deanna. It's not, we didn't go to Fantasmic this trip - but it sure looks like we should have!
