That's the kind of luck I have.

I wish we had an Archievers around here. We do have alot of Scrapbook stores, Michaels and JoAnn's but I've heard alot of people talk about Archievers.

I guess that just means you'll have to come down this way and we'll have to go shopping. I'm sure we can make the sacrafice to do that.

How is it that you all seem to know the names of employees! I've cruised three times and don't know one employees name...go figure.

We met the head chef Velu on the last Member Cruise when we took a tour of the Galley (sp). Once you meet Steve (fireplug) and my dh John, you'll understand how it was easy for someone to remember them!

Did you ever find out what the smell was and why it seems to be on all these costumes? That is strange!

Just from reading about other peoples experiences here.

You can bet when I go back to the store tonight, I'll be opening and sniffing the package before I head home.

You guys are out of control. You already have your album for the CJ for a cruise that hasn't even happened yet!

You and Mary picking the same album - glad to see GMTA! It's nice to know that the album from the class wasn't some old stock they were trying to get rid of. I was surprised it was as nice as it is, being it was part of the class supplies.

I have to confess, I didn't pick the album, that was in the kit that I won when I won the DIS Creative Contest last winter.

OK, I'm back into the swing of things today and have a busy day ahead. Preschool at 9 then I have to be home for 9:30 because we have a speech therapist coming over to evaluate Julia. Our county does free home evaluations for two year olds if the parent think they may have a problem. Julia talks alot but not with the clarity that Emma did. Emma was speaking full sentences by 2 and said over 100 words, she never did the baby talk thing, and would just repeat any word you said. Julia was born tongue tied and we opted to not get her snipped because the doc said that it wasn't that bad and she'd do fine letting it stretch naturally, which it did--but she she still wasn't able to stick out her tongue until she was 18 months old, so that probably has something to do with it.

I know, I know, you aren't supposed to compare kids that way--but once I get her checked out, I'll know I've done everything I can, and get her some help if she needs it to fine tune her sounds. I know plenty of kids Emma's age that say less than Julia does, I just want to be certain.

Oh the drama!!! Is it time to leave yet??? 10 more days for us!!!

Getting her checked now, will be much better for her instead of waiting until she's in 3rd grade. FWIW, I did find that my oldest started talking clearly very early on. When I had the next two, they really didn't need to speak early on because Dawn did all the talking for them.

I wish we had Archivers here too. When I went to the one in Columbus over the summer, I did some serious damage to the credit card while Bruce stayed in the car with the girls sleeping!

It depends on what year you were born.

By the way my birthday is 1 month and 3 days after yours - so it's possible you could be older. I remember that because your bday is the same day of mine and John's anniversary.

Julia talks alot but not with the clarity that Emma did. Emma was speaking full sentences by 2 and said over 100 words, she never did the baby talk thing, and would just repeat any word you said.

Diana, I'm really glad to hear your having Julia evaluated. Even if it turns out she doesn't need any services, it's a huge step to be able to make that call. Many, many parents wouldn't even do that -- for fear of finding out their child isn't perfect. All children are perfect, just is many different ways, as I know Julia is too. I've seen it a lot where parents just don't want to face what might be ahead of them. It's great that you are being realistic.

Now, what does it mean to be tongue tied? When Walker was born, he had to had his tongue snipped. The little thing underneath his tongue came all the way out to the tip of the tongue. Is that the same thing? The doctor was able to clip it, no problem in the office and with what seemed like very little pain to Walker at the time. We were told that it could cause problem later in life and the surgery then would be much more to go through.

Yea, Walker was tongue tied too. Julia's did go all the way to the tip of her tongue though, it just wasn't long enough to stretch her tongue, so she couldn't stick her tongue out or hold a binky in her mouth very long.

Nick mostly grunted until he was about 3. He did have some words, but he didn't HAVE to talk....KT gave him everything he wanted and talked for him (still does) My brother had 2 older sisters and he didn't talk for a long time. Not until my mother forbid my sisters to utter one word for him. Finally he HAD to talk in order to get anything he wanted!!

That's exactly what it is. Some kids have it worse than others. My sisters dd had the piece come all the way to the tip of her tongue and when she stuck her tongue out it caused her tongue to fork. My sil's dd had it, but it wasn't bad, her doctor said to wait and now she's two, it doesn't seem to be a problem anymore.

As we begin our (seemingly) never ending odyssey towards the decks of the Disney Wonder and SSMC06 we come one day closer to our goal. To reach this goal we endeavor ourselves to fill the day with the ranting, ravings, (in some cases outright droolings for the poor employees of FedEx and Hooters). We will extol well our talents for scrap booking, our seemingly endless knowledge of cinema, and just getting through the trials and tribulations of suburbia. We share our joys and sadly our heartaches, knowing that through this portal there are other wandering tribes of mousekateers who will join together in support and cheer.

BUT WAIT, tribes people (PC) there is soft glow coming from the south east (N28o22’38.24” W81o32’10.75” for the technos, like myself). The glow brightens with each passing day, minute, hour & second (12d/8m/59h/59s) we gravitate towards it like moths to a candle, where our pocket book and wallet burst with childish bliss in the pyre. Our quest to leave reality behind for carrot cake, crème brule, begets and Mickey bars ends soon, why just in the time it taken to read this we are 3 minutes closer.

So I bid you well greetings fellow tribes people and give hopes that your trail today will be less stressful, and that a smile will cross your face and the theme song to It’s a Small World will pass your lips at least once today.

I have a daycare child who talks up a storm when he's at home, but very rarily utters a word at my house. I've cared for him since he was 7 months old, this should be like a second home to him, but for whatever reason, he doesn't talk here. And, when he does, I have a hard time understanding him as I don't hear him talk very much. As much as I try to encourange him and include him, he just choses not to participate. I've asked him mother several times why she thinks he doesn't and her answer is pretty much the same, he's going to have to when he gets to kindergarten. I've said what I can say, I just know that it's unusual for an almost 3 year old to be so quiet during the day.
