Amy, there is nothing more precious than a sleeping child. Too bad it's because she doesn't feel good. Love the way she has her "blankie." Hope she feels better soon.
Yes, she most definitely needs her blankie!! Emily has Minty (a mint green stuffed TY dog) and Madison has her blankie. The only problem with blankie is that it's a one-of-a-kind (my mom made it for her). We had a REALLY hard time finding that quilt material again, and I found it on eBay and paid a small fortune for it to have another one, but we haven't been able to find the same yellow trim, but we did find one that was close. I just don't want to lose blankie and not have a backup.

With Emily, her "Minty" has been lost twice, but thankfully when I realized that she fell in love with him, I stocked up.

My problem will be remembering everyone's REAL names. If you came up to me and introduced yourself as Scratch42, I'd say Hey, it's nice to meet you. If you came up and said, Hi, I'm Janet, I'd think, ok, I know that name, but who are they again.

And, I'm already questioning whether I got your name right?!?!??!

I TOTALLY agree with Amy - which is why I wore my botton almost all the time (not for dinner) because I wanted others to wear there button so I would know their name :)

Talking about shyness, last year we stayed at POR pre-cruise. We were running late for the DIS meet and Bon Voyage party, the boat was taking forever so I was in high gear, all stressed about being late....we get to DTD, I high tailed it over to where we were meeting and then all of a sudden I froze in my tracks--I've never met these people. I'm really shy. I started to panic.....I'm now literally feet away from the huge group about to hyperventilate. :rotfl2: Surely, me the shyest person in all the world can't walk up to this giant group of people!! We were like 30 minutes late. Then all of a sudden Julie is right in front of me talking like she's known me forever! I was ok after that. But for a bried moment that inner voice was saying "RUN!! No one has seen you yet!! You can run and they won't even know you were here!" I almost chickened out of the DIS meet! :lmao: I'm really glad I didn't! :goodvibes

Did she just call me a blabbermouth? :rotfl2:

The way some of you are talking about going through Konk Koolers, you may not want to see your room charges before the end of the cruise :lmao:

Ya know, that was probably the ONLY drink I did not like and there are VERY few I don't like.... the other one being Kool-Aid!

Robin, we did the same thing, only we used a Cinderella Wedding lithograph.

We are doing something similar - we purchased a signature mat at Michaels and plan to put a photo from the wedding in it. Now I just have to get it to Orlando and back without bending it - UGH!

Hey scrapbookers,
Here is what I wound up doing with the paint can handle. I took straws, I wanted red ones but could only find striped ones for now. So I used red, yellow and blue striped straws, cut them to about 3/4 inch and split them up the side so they could "wrap" around the handle. In between each straw I put curled ribbon, alternating between red, yellow and white. It looks pretty good I think but would look better with all red straws.

What a good idea. I hadn't thought of that!

He had/has a photo minilab/shop. He does all sorts of processing (but so many people are doing theirs at their home computer), has some cameras (but mark up is low and there are places like BestBuy) and does do some on site digital events etc (the only thing that is saving us right now). So you can see where a once productive business has gone to pot. He tried to stay on top of it but just couldn't find a niche. He is currently trying to do office shots of people for their websites and does some portfolio type stuff for like models and stuff it just isn't enough. So he's got his feelers out for something else. My salary isn't enough to keep us afloat that is why I'm picking up the second job. Any and all ideas will be entertained, LOL! Maybe we should move to FL and work for Disney. Actually we have thought of putting together tours and stuff but I don't know if that could actually generate an income. We have lots of debt, two kids in college and no savings or retirement :confused3 but we WILL enjoy this trip! :goodvibes

Oh, Ilene, I truly hope it all works out. And, it will. It may not seem like it right now, but sometimes looking back on a tough situation you can see where things were better in the long run or happened for a reason.

Gary lost his job when I was 7 months pregnant with Walker. There was no way I could go out and get a real job at that time. As it turned out, I had complications with my pregnancy and ended up on bedrest. It was a good thing that Gary was home so that he could take care of Cameron as well as me. Walker was born in February and I had even more complications afterwards. Gary became my nurse, doing the medical procedures that would have otherwise been really difficult for us to get me to if he had been working. Finally, after almost 2 months, I was released from the doctors care. Ironically, that's the same time Gary was offered a job at the company he's been with ever since.

There are places you can go like food pantrys which will help with your basic needs. We never did, but knew they were there if we needed them. Unemployement compensation in our area is truly a joke -- for a family of 3, I believe Gary got almost $200/week. Hardly enough to live on by any means. We were fortunate that we had money in the bank to help us through, but if we had not, I'm sure we would have explored a lot of areas to find some extra $$'s.

I hope everything works out for you. pixiedust:

I'm guessing this was the work of some parents! It's sad they have to act this way - it's a soccer game with kids and 6 yo at that. Good thing you weren't there, now you don't have to be messed up in the finger pointing.

I am very thankful we were not there, but as coach, I guess helping to figure out the true story is part of Gary's job. It sounded last night from the assistant coach that this team was undefeated and took losing very seriously. To the point where the kids were expected to do what was needed in order to win back the lead :(

I know the Commissioner is going to impose some type of ramifications once he figures out exactly what happened. It truly is sad that these are just little kids. A lot of them don't even keep score in the games -- although they usually know whether they win or lose.

Sad all around.

That's it, if there's anything more in here, I'm not coming back to edit again. :rotfl2:

Diana,

I was in your shoes last week. As a good friend told me, the pain of today will slowly fade and you will be let with all the wonderful memories of your pet!

I know that it true and once the emotions of today fade, things will be better.

My thoughts and prayers are with you

Not At All! It was the CM at Disneyland that suggested it to me!

We were talking how I already had a couple of the pillowcases and needed a fresh idea and this is what he suggested!

So I used them to wave to everybody as we left the Pedro Port and then had them signed!

j

Very Cute! I love the fact that you used them as you sailed away. :sail:
