Now that we're into the final stretch for preparation ofr the cruise, a question...

Does anyone know of any themed nights other than Pirate Night? I remember how much fun last year was with the different themes!

Thanks

Chris - I agree with Gail. Bring it to the Saturday meet and I bet you will get a lot. I hope you post a picture for all of us when it is done! I'll be happy to sign one for you.
Thank you ,Mary!:thumbsup2

I don't know if I've seen this discussed anywhere. Does that mean there is no show on Pirate night? And what are the shows for the 4-day these days?

The pirate deck party is after both seatings, so there still is a show in the theater. The only things we know are in the DVC emails(on the website - click the life preserver) and the fact we're going to be entertained by Jodi Benson(Ariel)and some mystery musical guest(s), and a motivational speaker. As to what evenings... no idea.

The one thing I would recommend - the Pirate party runs VERY late. Make sure your family paces themselves for that day- naps for the little ones and the like.

My father taught me how to tie a full windsor, I could help Matt tie his tie
Thanks Gary - we may take you up on it if we can't get a good grasp on the website Mary provided.

Ok that's funny!! :rotfl2:

My parents sat Jeff down before we got married and said "Ya know she's not an easy person to live with. If you want to change your mind we'll understand"
Can you believe that!

:rotfl: Let's not give my parents any ideas here!

The aft cabins are very convenient for the quick trips to BBB and the drink station on 9. We were on deck 6 aft last month. Member cruise we are in a sideways 11 in the front, a long way from BBB and the drink station. My ice in my glass might melt before I get back to my room after that long walk.

BUBBA MUG!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

JUST AN FYI...The pirate party has been changed in the format from when we last cruised. The music and such started around 9:30 p.m. however, the party continued for over 45 minutes before the actual "show" began and then the fireworks started after the "show". The "show" is new from the one last year on the member's cruise. By the time the fireworks ended it was 10:30. Alot of the parents with very small children had a hard time keeping the little ones awake for almost an hour for the fireworks.

No clue about UPS holidays. :confused3

Yes, Monday afternoon is THE day for Penny so I appreciate your thoughts and prayers, especially for poor Emma who very suddenly has a huge amount of love and interest in the dog that steals her breakfast just about every morning.

Diana - it's hard to convey over the computer, but please know that Matt and I admire your strength, love and courage at this time and we will be thinking of you, Bruce, and the girls on Monday.

That's the thing. It has... and it hasn't. All these changes don't really change the layout of the ship in any real substantial manner, everything's still in the same places. Some venues have new names, or have been redecorated. Some have had some kind of expansion or addition, but it's still the familiar ship you were on last.

Oh, I understood that the layout didn't change, but I don't want to go into the ESPN Club and walk in on a bunch of wild teens. Seriously, I just wanted to see a current map with the new names. At least I hope my room is still in the same place :lmao:

No documents here yet.

However, yesterday we got in the USPS mail a SHORE SURVIVAL KIT from DCL for just getting off the 11 night cruise.

Funny thing is, it was mailed October 3 from Florida and we received it here in Salt Lake City October 5. Only two days. Regular US mail and it was $1.35 for DCL to send.

Don't want to spoil the surprise (but you could probably find a thread on the boards to find out what it is), but can I just say it is....

DUCKY!!

There was a group Pirate Picture on the 11 night, with quite a few scary pirates! ARRRGH! pirate: pirate: pirate:

I'm surprised at the number of folks who don't dress up. It's so much fun! Even if you just wear t-shirts and jeans and throw on an eyepatch!

Oooh EYE PATCH!! Thanks Georgie! Matt and I are wearing pirate tshirts :)

Unfortunately, my DD isn't cruising with us, or she could help. When she was in the 5th grade, her teacher, a man, had all the kids bring a tie to class and he taught them all how to tie a tie, even the girls, because they may someday be married to a man who doesn't know how!! Up until the day she left for college, she would tie Ken's ties because she could do it better than he could! :rotfl2:

Mary - that is wonderful! Honestly I can tie one - albiet not as good as Dad or my BIL (he's in hospitality and wears one daily) but for some reason I can't get it to loosen up and then onto Matt's head.

Why do only the little ones get to take naps? Us older folks need our afternoon nap too.

Just for fun, I'd thought I'd take a picture of this and show ya'll. :) Not my best penmanship, but I was in a hurry and was writing while I wrote. :)

Thats too funny...But I'd probably be doing the same thing with my girls if the won something like this...Tell them to enjoy...and get lots of good stuff...we went last week and spent over 100 on 2 bears so I know how expensive they are.

I was reading about a quilt someone did for their cruise. Would you all mind signing a square of fabric? I might make me a quilt with all of us on it! It's a great way to remember all of the friends I've come to love!
That would be awesome...but you have to show some pics of the finished product
