I am sad to have to tell you, Carol tried that on our cruise last month. If I remember correctly she told me that they called her and told her the items she wrote in weren't available for room service. We some how never got around to ordering room service during that 11 days so I never tried it. In previous cruises I have gotten the items that I wrote in, maybe they made some changes. Hey, give it a try anyways.

Which is why I love out deck 7 aft location. A quick run up through the buffet, down the back secret stairs and to our room. We can have breakfast on the verandah and get whatever we want. Plus I'll usually take an extra milk or two and store them in the in-room cooler for later.

A short lived great idea. :(

Mary great news on the results. Now all you have to worry about is

Chris prayers to your nephew. He sounds like one lucky child. At least they have the Disney trip to look forward to while getting better.

No docs here either. I was starting to think that we were kicked off the cruise too. I guess great minds think alike or we are all paranoid.

Karen and Curt have a great time today. GO TIGERS

Oh where, oh where have my documents gone? :confused3

Oh where, oh where's my giclee? :artist:

In my neighbor's box or still on the truck? :drive:

Oh, please let them show up today!!

The aft cabins are very convenient for the quick trips to BBB and the drink station on 9. We were on deck 6 aft last month. Member cruise we are in a sideways 11 in the front, a long way from BBB and the drink station. My ice in my glass might melt before I get back to my room after that long walk.

Just checking in to say Hi. I've been very busy at work this week and last weekend at WDW with the family. Work should let up after today and I'll have time to catch up in the next week.

Happy Birthday to those I've missed.

Happy Anniversary to those I've missed as well.

Sorry for the troubles that everyone is facing.

Great news Mary, that must have been some scare.

Curt and Karen, Have a great time at the game tonight, I'll be looking for you.

Chris, your nephew was very lucky and it's great that he will pull thru.

I may be in chat tonight, depends on work.

My cruise documents are at my apartment complex office, they received them Wednesday. I'm still waiting for my guidebook/glicee though.

And if anyone is giving a tie tying class I would happily participate as I leave my ties tied and simply loosen/tighten them when I need to wear one.

Oh, the spree isn't until tomorrow.
yesterday was all part of the strategy planning. The kids picked out what they were hoping to get. We made a list and a diagram of the store. Everything is marked off on the diagram (exactly which rack it's on) and an elaborate floor plan has been created. :) They each walked through the store a couple of times in "order" talking themselves through the items that are on the list....

"ok, first I run here and get two pumpkin bears and a velvet bear, then to this shelf and get a turkey outfit and a pilgrim outfit. then loop around the corner and get the pumpkin outfit, shoes, boxers and treat bags (x2) then over here to get a frog outfit, and the tigger, eeyore, and piglet outfits......etc....." That's Nick's assignment. KT will start on the other side of the store and they will meet in the middle. KT will be picking things up that Nick wants, and Nick will be getting KT's things....that way they BOTH don't neeed to go to both sides of the store. Divide and conquer!!"

They each also picked out their two MUST HAVES....so if NOTHING else, they get those two things (if all else is forgotten)

They did NOT like the fact there was a big sign that said something like "Join us on Saturday, October 7th when a beary lucky person and her friend each have a 45 second shopping spree to get whatever they want!! Come cheer them on as they run for the stuffing." ACK!!! I told them they need to get in their zone!
Good Luck to them....

We ordered room service breakfast last year for our day at CC. As we were coming into the island, we had breakfast out on the verandah which was a cool sight to see.

This year, if we decide to do that again, I'll remember the tip I learned last year. If you want something in addition to what's on the breakfast menu, like bacon or sausage, just write it on the menu, draw a little box and surprise, it will come with your order. :cool1:

Thanks, Gail, for sharing your secret! Now I've shared it with 60,000 other friends. :teeth:
Thanks for tip, Cindy!

Oh my :faint: what pressure :faint:

Don't tell them I said this, but I hope they don't rearrange the store today.

Good luck! I hope they have fun! :cheer2:

I did mention that to them as a possibility. That'd be low of Build a Bear and I'd be tempted to tell them. For crying out loud, it's 45 seconds!! Don't stress a kid out and make them search for what they want and waste their time.

They each picked out TWO things that were "must haves".....so even if they only get those two things, they will be cool with it. My kids are not whiners. So they won't stand there and stomp their feet and pout and say "BUT I DIDN'T GET THE.................." :) I've told them again and again that even if they only get a few things.....those are FREE and they didn't have to spend allowance money to get them! :)

Btw, we did NOT tell anyone there what we were doing. All but one of the employees was in a staff meeting in the corner, so no one really bothered us. The one lady did come up and ask if we needed help (seeing my clipboard, I'm sure) and I said "no, we're fine....kids are just making their wishlists.....helps me to know what to buy for them!" :lmao:

Ok that's funny!! :rotfl2:

My parents sat Jeff down before we got married and said "Ya know she's not an easy person to live with. If you want to change your mind we'll understand"
Can you believe that!

HA! But love is blind. Nothing you tell a young person in love makes them see anything other than they want to see.

(although if I say "love is blind" around here, Mike gets all fake offended and thinks I'm making some crack about his glaucoma!) :lmao:

OK, I have finally caught up on all the pages. I know there are lots of congrats for birthdays, anniversary and post counts. A big congrats to Mary on her great news.
Get wells for Mom's hip and the sister with the heart problem.

We need some pixie dust and prayers for my nephew. My BIL was in a terrible accident this morning in that his van rolled. My 3 year old nephew, unknown to his Dad, had unbuckled his seat belt. Because of this he was ejected through the back window of the van. He has MANY stitches, his head, his cheek, especially his knees that they had to operate to get all the glass out, and his feet. He was choppered up to Cooper Hospital in Camden and will spend at least one night. The initial cat scan did not detect any other problems. He is on morphine to control his pain. Please pray for his speedy recovery. Also, pray that they will still be able to take their trip to Disney in January. They planned to drive their van down but now it is totalled. They have 3 kids so they are not sure about driving in anything much smaller. I hope it will work out for them, they already bought their tickets to the pirates and princesses party.
Meanwhile, we are headed out tomorrow to the Albany area. Maybe we will be in the same place as Stacy and Diana but we won't know it because we have never actually met, yet. I believe we are going Home Depot Sat. morning, to an apple orchard Saturday afternoon and to a corn maze in Saratoga area on Sunday.
Try not to post toooo much over the weekend. Two weeks from right now we will be in Disney World!!! Woo hoo.
I'm so sorry to hear that!:grouphug: Prayers and pixie dust for a speedy recovery on the way!pixiedust: pixiedust:Plus, extra dust for the up comming trip! pixiedust:

Good luck to KT and Nick tomorrow! What time is the run? Doesn't KT have a football game to get to?

Gee, Mary, you're keeping track of our schedule better than I am!!!

The run is at 10 (we have to be there at 9:45) Luckily the game tomorrow is a 3:30 game. So plenty of time to get there. Although even if it was a noon game, I think KT would pick BAB over the OSU-Bowling Green game! --or she'd just go late.

After the run, Nick and I will hang out, get lunch and then we've got tickets to see a high school production of Schoolhouse Rock. :)

U TOP!!

pdfg pixiedust: and for everyone who needs a little extra, esp Chris' nephew

Seriously, how can you just stick a pile of LL Bean catalogs in someone's mailbox!!! :furious:

No offense meant to any USPS workers, but they know they'll still get paid no matter how much they goof up. We're kinda stuck with them. Wouldn't it be interesting if it was privatized? Hmmmm.....

Although I send very little USPS anymore. Do most of my bill stuff online or automatic debit. I figure if they can't get my stuff to ME, how do I know they will get my outgoing stuff where it needs to be....ON TIME?

Wow, it's great that you have such a wonderful postman!

Bruce and I were discussing our lack of giclee last night when we were going through the mail to find 5 LL Bean catalogs. Yup 5. One for me, one for him, one for the lady next door, one for the family next door to her and one for the people across the street. :sad2: We decided that maybe I should go knocking door to door with their catalog as ranson and ask them to hand over my DVC box because one of them has to have it! :furious:

Seriously, how can you just stick a pile of LL Bean catalogs in someone's mailbox!!! :furious:

That sounds like the mail at work...On Saturdays we are one of the only offices in our building that are there, so the mail carrier is to lazy to walk around to all the offices and leave the mail either in front of the door or in the slot...So we end up with the mail for the whole building in our office...the first time I figured it was a mistake and took it around to all the offices...the second time I said no way and have been giving it back to the other mail carrier on Mondays. Its insane the things they do...I think they just dont care because they get paid regardless if the mail is delivered properly or not.

For those who have missed it here is what is happening on the Wonder while in dry dock:

There are some exciting new changes taking place on the Disney Wonder:

  • Toddlers will have a great time splashing about under Mickey's hand in the slide area where new interactive fountains and splash areas will be located. This is an enhancement designed for the little ones in swim diapers
  • The Oceaneer Lab (ages 8-12) will have a replica of the ship's bridge with a computer simulator that will enable the kids to "steer" the Wonder through the ports. Giant screens will feature port views
  • The Oceaneer Club (ages 3-7) will redesign the Captain's Closet play area and make additions to its Neverland theme. More hands-on centers will be added including more PlayStation systems and computers.
  • The Goofy Pool area will have a 336 square foot, state of the art LED screen affixed to the forward funnel. This 24 by 14 foot screen will be used for outdoor entertainment and during the deck parties
  • The Vista Spa will have three suites added. Each one will feature a indoor spa treatment room which connects to a private outdoor verandah. Here guests can use the open air shower, private hot tub and relax on the oversized chaise lounge.
  • The Vista Spa will be expanded with the fitness center doubling in size. Spinning classes will be offered and private areas for Pilates lessons and individual beauty and fitness consultations will be added.
  • The Quiet Cove Pool will have waterfalls cascading from the two hot tubs. The deck chairs will be replaced with cushioned teak loungers/chairs.

Wow this all sounds amazing...I can't wait..only 16 more days! :Pinkbounc :cheer2:
