And Curt, that should say Diana's MOVE to Florida. :cheer2:

Would you believe that the FIRST time I made up that counter I put MOVE. But, be that as it is, I am a smart aleck (<-INSERT OTHER ADJATIVES HERE - this one for example

Cruises fall under that category. The new rule, which goes into effect soon, covers them too. I think DCL's going to start requring them toward the end of the year.

We don't absolutely need them for this cruise, but future cruises they will be a requirement.

Right - I think Sandy meant something different when typing "domestic travel".

But do they have Curling in FL? I reallly wanted to take that up soon!

Why not they have hockey? There have to be some snow birds from the Great White North (coo roo coo coo coo coo coo coo - sorry couldn't resist) that miss curling...

We have passports - but I think we only need them for international travel ;)

Now I'm confused. I was going to correct Cindy about only needing it for international travel, but I went out to the Travel Dept. web site and found this:

New Requirements for Travelers

The Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 requires that by January 1, 2008, travelers to and from the Caribbean, Bermuda, Panama, Mexico and Canada have a passport or other secure, accepted document to enter or re-enter the United States. In order to facilitate the implementation of this requirement, the Administration is proposing to complete it in phases following a proposed timeline, which will be published in the Federal Register in the near future.

In the proposed implementation plan, which is subject to a period of initial public comment, the Initiative will be rolled out in phases, providing as much advance notice as possible to the affected public to enable them to meet the terms of the new guidelines. The proposed timeline will be as follows:

* January 8, 2007 - Requirement applied to all air and sea travel to or from Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda.
* January 1, 2008 - Requirement extended to all land border crossings as well as air and sea travel.

This is a change from prior travel requirements and will affect all United States citizens entering the United States from countries within the Western Hemisphere who do not currently possess valid passports. This new requirement will also affect certain foreign nationals who currently are not required to present a passport to travel to the United States. Most Canadian citizens, citizens of the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda, and to a lesser degree, Mexican citizens will be affected by the implementation of this requirement.

I could have sworn I saw a company bulletin that said that a passport was needed on all travel, both domestic and international, but maybe I'm wrong?

Boy-oh-boy - My husband sure is working hard today... :rolleyes1

Doesn't it make you feel safe, knowing that this is the type of person we entrust our lives with??? ::cop:

Diana - So it's official? You're really moving to Florida? I thought that it was just a wishful consideration at this point... :cold: ---> :beach:

Cindy - It's a bit belated, but thank you for the work that you did to ensure that we'd all be sitting together for dinner! :thumbsup2 (Though, at our table, I may end up regretting it... )

Here I am, minding my own business and not even posting this afternoon because I don't have a clue as to any requirements for passports and I still get dragged into it. :upsidedow

You are always welcome at our table, Karen. ::yes:: Most likely Cameron will do the mad dash to the lab before dinner is over so there will be a seat. That is if he even decides to join us.

Yes, you found the right thing. The thing is a lot of private companies are adopting a more.. stringent requirement and just blanket asking for passports as of '07, just easier to just cut it all at once instead of in steps like that.

I don't know if they have curling, but I do know that there is a HUGE ice complex in Bradenton.

No Respect - EVEN my own beloved sees fit to berate me. You know full well I'm holding down the desk at the sub-station.

Emily is the same way. From almost the moment that she sits down, she is asking when she can go back to the club.

Oh, and I forgot, we also have ice skating rinks in some of the shopping malls around here.

It's officially unofficial. :confused3 :rotfl: Bruce talked to his boss about wanting to leave this winter and they played "Let's Make a Deal" so it's officially May '08 and Andy will hook him up with his FL contacts, whatever that is. Our choices are Jacksonville, Bradenton or Orlando working for Universal--not sure how that's going to go over in our Disney house. We do get killer Universal discounts, but we haven't used them because we're always cruising and visiting the Mouse!

I can't wait for our explore the area trip!! Hopefully, I'll get a good DING in the dead of winter and we can come down to check it out. Maybe I'll just stay and wait for Bruce to move down when he's done with his job! :rotfl2:

Yeah: Holding it down with the computer, your book, Mountain Dew, and, occasionally, your head... :rolleyes2

Thank you, Cindy. It's nice to know that I'm appreciated by some people... :snooty:

Besides, it will be just like having Cameron at the table: I'm baseball crazy and I hate to be awake before noon. (Good call on skipping over my name on the wake-up call list...) :chewy:
