Ahhh yes, I know the study. HOWEVER ask ANY teacher about the day after halloween and that study is overruled!

What about the variable that these kids were out past their bedtimes and were too excited to sleep? Therefore making their judgements and impulse control less than stellar. Even if sugar did hype them up and they ate a bunch at night after they got back from trick-or-treating, their bodies would have metabolized it all overnight. :confused3

Woohoo! I am allergic to aspartame so can't use the blue stuff, the pink stuff tastes nasty so its only the yellow stuff for me!

The yellow stuff causes muscle aches and spasms, mostly in my legs. I stay away from it just like an allergy.

I started getting more frequent migraines after switching to Coke Zero (aspertame) I was having 2 or 3 a WEEK instead of 2 or 3 a YEAR! Finally figured out it was the Coke Zero and I quit that and my migraines went away.

Today I realized that there may be another connection---for the last week or so my vision hasn't been quite right in my left eye--kinda a "pre migraine" thing, but never totally bad and never getting the headache. I tried to think of what might be causing that and I realized about 2 weeks ago I switched to sugar free latte flavorings (only a tablespoon a day) It's flavored with Splenda.

I think God is telling me to stick to pure unadulterated SUGAR! :)

Yeah, different people react differently to the different products. I only use it in iced tea which I don't even drink every day. I drink my coffee black or with a little cream, no sweetener. Its just good to know its there if I want it!

Boy, it's been years since I've posted on DIS (Feb 2004 to be exact)! So I'm starting back at square one!

Anyhoo...a suggestion. Would anyone like to start contributing DVC trivia, sorta like a study group? Over the next couple weeks, everyone could submit any DVC trivia they know. I would then compile all the info into a "cheat sheet". Then, around Oct 14-15th, everyone could print it out and be ready to sweep all the prizes at the DVC trivia contest!

I'll volunteer to keep a running document of any DVC trivia info that anyone wants to send me. Anything you can think of, such as DVC resort opening dates, number of rooms per resort, resort name changes, themes, etc.
You can PM your info to me, or post it here on the thread (a good way to clock up more messages in search of the elusive 20,000 message goal).

Have a great weekend. I'll try to join the Sunday chat -- so if you have suggestions for the DVC trivia game, just let me know!

:welcome: I've talked to you in chat, glad you finally made it to the thread! :welcome:

Congrats on post 19000, Chris! :Pinkbounc

Thanks - you were right there with me, neck and neck! I really thought one of us would get it and the other would get the reply but BEAR snuck in there!

Chris

Hi all. Busy day here. We went to Super WalMart to find magnet paper and t-shirt iron-ons. While we were there we found something that we all should have............glow in the dark pirate underwear. :rotfl2:

We spent the afternoon cleaning Brooke's room. We found chips, cookies, fruit snacks, three tubes of toothpaste, six bottles of lotion and anything else you could think of. We threw away five trash bags. She saves everything. I knew her room was dirty but I had no idea what was in her closet and under her bed. She came home from grandma's and said she loves her room and will always take care of it. From now on anything left out is getting thrown out.

A little number crunching for you all.

We have 52 cabins accounted for right now (I think I have one or two in my in-box that still need to be added). They break down as follows:

3 DIS rooms on Deck 8

16 DIS rooms on Deck 7

21 DIS rooms on Deck 6

7 DIS rooms on Deck 5

5 DIS rooms on Deck 2

0 DIS rooms on Deck 1

It looks like deck 6 is the place to be!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Hmmm......maybe it's because you EXPECT them to be out of control so your perception of their behavior is clouded by your expectations. :confused3 I know, how about if someone gives your kids a bunch of sugar right before bed on the cruise without your knowledge....then see how they are in the morning. Great experiment. Since I can't be on the cruise does anyone want to volunteer to give Chris's kids some sugar??? :lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

VERY FUNNY!! HA HA HA
I will have everyone's room numbers and I will send the kids knocking on your doors VERY early in the morning if any of you try it!!!!

Welcome back. I think this is a great idea. We could take over the game.

We are too. One would think that there comes a point where enough points is truly enough. I just haven't figured out when that is --- but I do know that adding on isn't something we're considering right now.

With even close to 500, we just can't seem to ever have the problem of finding out how to bank any of them. Although for the first time, I did make a reservation for some friends of ours in a business transaction ;) . Never thought that I would do that, but I've learned to never say never. This family is traveling down the same week we are all cruising. We're flying down and home together so it should be interesting. I'm hoping they decide that they love the villa enough to buy themselves as I know they have already inquired and used our name as a referral! :thumbsup2

I have them in Rubermaid totes. I love those things. I really use the bags when we go to Disney so I don't feel too bad buying them. But between the Budget board and Theme Park boards I keep adding more. Everytime someone recommends a touring bag I get the urge to order another one. My sister kids me that I have to plan more trips to use all the bags.

And, that's a bad thing?? :teeth:

Email Dr. Mike about this sugar/hyperactivity thing and catch his response in his podcast. This is a very common misconception. :)

I agree. My kids are no different with or without sugar. It has no effect on them. :cool1:

OK, I can take Splenda in small doses. When I tried switching to it on a daily basis I started getting stomach pains. :crazy2:
I prefer sugar now but every once in a while I feel guilty for the calories and will use the Splenda.
