Good morning Member Cruisers
- we sail in 5 weeks!

Look alive - we cruise in 5 (weeks that is) :)
Woo Hoo! We are another week closer to cruising!

party:

5 Weeks!! I cant believe its approaching this fast! :cheer2:

What is your favorite Universal attraction and why? Definately MIB - great movement and good story line.

When was the last time you visited Universal, either park? October 2002

Has anyone dined at Emeril's and is it really worth waiting 6 months for reservations? Nope, we ate at the Nascar Cafe.

What ride/attraction/technology from Universal would you like to see Disney adopt in the future? Disney already has. What I loved about MIB is that the guns were on teathers instead of clampled down to the vehicle. Well when Disneyland opened up Buzz Lightyear the guns were on teathers.

Since DVC began offering a discount on annual passes, do you stay mostly on Disney property? If not, where in Orlando would you go? Yes we always stay on Disney property. I like going to Sea World every couple of years but have no desire to go back to Universal.

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick check in.

I saw the surgeon today and if my ct scan comes up normal, and that I can use the hospital that the surgeon uses I will be going in for the laproscopic surgery on Friday.

Hope it all goes well for you Cheryl.

Well if you have to have it done at least it the less tramatic/invasive way. I've watched them do it on tv and it was pretty cool. Nick got a kick out of it too.
Good luck with everything.

OK, since I visited enemy territory I have a few GTKYFKC questions:

What is your favorite Universal attraction and why? MIB

When was the last time you visited Universal, either park? August 2004 when we did Disney with Jeff's family. If they weren't with us I would probably never have left Disney Property

Has anyone dined at Emeril's and is it really worth waiting 6 months for reservations? Nope. We ate at Margaritaville

What ride/attraction/technology from Universal would you like to see Disney adopt in the future? We didn't do to many rides went we went with his family. The pace was slow and only his brother really rides any rides.

Since DVC began offering a discount on annual passes, do you stay mostly on Disney property? If not, where in Orlando would you go? Disney all the way for me. But they did spoil us so it's hard to stay anywhere else.

If you could I'd like you all to keep a dear friend of a DISer in your thoughts. Some friends of mine from the Dec. 2004 and May 2006 cruise are traveling together on the 11 day cruise that just left today. They are calling it the Mom's Escape cruise. 3 of the ladies are DISers, one other the wife of a DISer and the 5th is a good friend of one of the DISers. Sharon, the friend, got some tragic news after she boarded the ship. Her sister had just died. So she had to make arrangements to leave the ship and fly back to her home in AZ. The other 4 ladies are continuing on without her. Please keep Sharon and her family in your thoughts.

Prayers and thoughts to Sharon and her family!

I noticed the font right away and at first thought maybe that was a hint but then I thought about it more and said no way would he do that so that's why I guessed a different movie.

NOPE!! Off base. The font is that way because it looked cool. Nuttin more - nuttin less.

Sidebar: Interesting group of guesses today.

The secret is out....
For those of you chat declined/impaired DisSers, the Challenge is this....

Several months ago, Karen and I were watching a movie and came across the a spot in the movie that would make the PERFECT door sign. I really like it and wanted to share it before the cruise. Now to say that I have really enjoyed my time here on this board is one of the bigger understatments I can make. I wanted to make this a little special so I came up with the idea of making a contest out of revealing the sign. But on retrospect I though it would be too easy, so following the advise of Mary the Mod I broke the pic into 16 frames. On even numbered days I will remove another box revealing another frame.

The Challenge: Identify the movie from which the frame was captured.

The Rules:

(1) The pic will be posted on even numbered days sometime before NOON. 16 frames X every other day = 32 days. SOMEBODY should be able to figure this sucker out by then! Several DisSers have expressed interest but are prohibited from checking in at work so I MIGHT post it early, just depends if I am working or awake....

(2) NO HINTS

(3) First DisSer to post the CORRECT answer wins.

(4) This aint rocket science....

The Prize: A Conch Kooler - or comparable like grog on me. Defination of comparable? Remember I am a simple, honest public servant. Dom will NOT be joining this party.

Karen thinks I'm nuts - but I'm having a blast planning this little thing. Mary has the Navigators, Amy has her tidbits, and now I have my little bit of fun.

Enjoy

This is a wonderful way to pass the time til the cruise! Thanks Curt!

No sense copying all the questions as we have never been to Universal.

EXCEPT to eat at Margarittaville twice!

Our son has an interview with his first Fire Dept. He never seemed to be interested in what I did but apparently it made an impact on him. He took the EMT class last year and has applied at a couple of Fire Depts. He also has a test later this month for another FD.
Coleen is a little nervous as it can be a dangerous job (and I guess so am I) but I am also very proud and honored he wants to follow in my career path.

So it could be a fourth generation of FF in our family tree. My grandfather signed up as a volunteer in 1951, on the department I am a member of. I had an uncle who was a FF in Columbus Ohio and now he is interested. Must be something in the blood I guess.

Good Luck to him!

GTKYFKC Questions

OK, since I visited enemy territory I have a few GTKYFKC questions:

What is your favorite Universal attraction and why? None.

When was the last time you visited Universal, either park? I don't remember what year. :confused3 It was when they first started building IOA.

Has anyone dined at Emeril's and is it really worth waiting 6 months for reservations? Never been there, but we do go to Margaritaville!

What ride/attraction/technology from Universal would you like to see Disney adopt in the future? Don't know.

Since DVC began offering a discount on annual passes, do you stay mostly on Disney property? If not, where in Orlando would you go? We always stay on site these days. I would like to stay at every WDW resort someday, but of course I keep staying at my favorites! If not on site, then Hard Rock or Portofino Bay.

Ok, the spreadsheet is complete.

(3) The first DisSer to post the correct answer wins. Limit one guess per DisSer (come on out lurking spouses) per day.

Good luck to him! My Dad and FIL were both FF. I've always been so proud to be a FF's kid. It is such a special profession! :firefight

Squid: yep, looks like the server's down, already reported it.

GTKYFKC Questions
What is your favorite Universal attraction and why? For outright funny, it's Twister. For classic it's Earthquake. For interactive, it is MIB. :)

That's the only one different from Mary's.

It's when you arrive at the port. Cats 1, 2, 3 automatically go in the first group. Then you're grouped according to arrival time.

That is good news because I can't finish filling out DH's online forms. We don't have his passport yet. He applied in August and for a few weeks online it kept saying they had not received his application yet. He finally called to check on it and they had his birthdate wrong!:scared1: Thank goodness we caught it before we recieved it in the mail.

AND--I would NEVER EVER EVER give my children a doll with scissors and show them how to cut hair!! Whose crazy idea was that?? Hey, let's encourage little kids to do this to a doll, because then they'd get the great idea to do it to themselves--or worse unsuspecting siblings!!
Ok, I'm with you on that one! I can just see Emily trying to cut Madison's hair after she was done with the doll's hair.
