The UPS man just left here and I think a school exploded in our living room. I can't believe how many books we have. This is really exciting.

Ohhhh.....I LOVE those boxes!!!!!
:)

1. How many brothers & sisters do you have? 1 brother, 2 sisters

2. What is your birth order? (I know Steve, middle child syndrome for you -- I've read your tag ;) ) Youngest. I was an "oops." My sisters were 11 and 10 when I was born. My brother was 6!

3. What was the house like that you grew up in? Ranch, two story, condo, apartment?? Pretty big house. I guess you'd call it a split level, but it was split into 4 levels. Before my parents bought it it was actually a TRI-plex (if that's a word) I remember my parents had a sink, stove and refridgerator in their BEDROOM!!

4. What did you do first when school was over? Did you go home, to a friends, to a babysitters, daycare? My mom was the kindergarten teacher in the school, so I went to her room and either played with the stuff or helped her do things around the classroom.

5. What was your kindergarten teachers name? Mrs. Rewalt. My mom was the other kdg teacher but she didn't want me in her class. So I had Mrs. Rewalt who was one step away from a nervous breakdown. She'd often times have ME get up and read stories to the class to kill time.

6. What did you play with as a kid? Dolls. Little People toys. And anything I could set up as a little house (miniatures, furniture, etc)

7. What was dinner time like as a child? We usually had family dinners. When my dad did night school for awhile we had COOL dinners on nights he was gone---pancakes or TV dinners or hot dogs---all the things he hated!! :) We almost NEVER ate out. Eating out on the first day of school each year was a HUGE treat.

8. What major news event do you remember from when you were a child? Ronald Reagan getting shot is the biggest.

Cheryl, good luck. If it is any consolation when I had kidney stones about 3-4 years ago I found I also had gallstones. I was worried until the doctor told me that just about everyone has gallstones to some extent. My FIL just had gallbladder surgery and is doing fine.

I had my gallbladder out in 2001. It was just about one month before a 2 week Disney trip. I believe my follow up appointment was just a couple of days before we left for FL. I had it laproscopically and it was a pretty easy recovery (compared to other surgeries I've had) It's been a WORLD of difference (pain wise) since I've had it out. After YEARS of chronic pain, I'm "all better." :)

How about another set of GTKYFKK Questions??

4. What did you do first when school was over? Did you go home, to a friends, to a babysitters, daycare? Home...Mom always picked us up when we were younger, and we walked when we got older.
5. What was your kindergarten teachers name? I can picture her, but can't remember her name. Thats sad...I know my 1st, and up.
6. What did you play with as a kid? Cabbage patch kids, rainbow brite, my little pony, barbie, dolls

Does your diet change after surgery??

It all depends. My doctor told me to eat what I wanted and if it bothered me, don't eat it. He's pretty wise like that!

So far I haven't found anything I eat to be a problem.

Diana who is Bernie Goetz lol sorry I don't know and am curious!

He was the "subway vigilante". Back in the 80s when crime was really bad in NYC, there was this guy, Bernie Goetz, who decided to shoot the 4 young guys who were apparently trying to mug him. All I really remember was that public opinion of him was that of a celebrity "idol". And the city was trying to promote the "don't take matters into your own hands" thing so there was alot of controversy surrounding it.

Cheryl...Hope that all is well for you...My dad had gallstones, and pancreatitis...I know the pain from him...Hope you feel better!!!

For some, yes. Some ppl cannot tolerate fatty foods at all. My surgeon said I probably had gallbladder disease for a REALLY REALLY long time (about 15 yrs) before it ever got bad enough for someone to check into it (I did not fit the *typical* gallbladder profile, so no one ever checked it.....besides, my pain was never intense for 14 yrs, 11 months and 3 weeks....so it never raised a red flag) ANYWAY.....I digress.....my surgeon said b/c I probably had it for so long, my body had learned to, in essence, function without it.

Now, if I eat a really really fatty meal, I can have abdominal cramping and....well, what follows abdominal cramping. But it's rare. And then there are times I can have a really really fatty meal and just be perfectly fine.
