No, she won't graduate until December with her Bachelors and then start PA school next fall. She's applied to Wayne State & UofD (both are in Detroit), Duke, University of Florida and another school in Arizona. I'm hoping for U of F :rotfl: Just one more reason to feed my addiction to Florida!
UF is a great school! I have LOTS of friends that went there and really loved it there!

Just wanted to share a few photos of DW enjoying her 'addiction'.
Our four kids planned a surprise birthday party for her __th birthday (ok... 17th repeat of 29 ** :yay: )
For her birthday, she had to hold two sno-cone cups in her mouth and flap menus like wings, all while the servers sang the Hooters birthday song!

(** 46th for our arithmetic challenged friends... or those who didn't want to add it up :) )
Love those pictures, Gail!!!!

Hope those in the path of Ernesto are safe today. DD is in Daytona Beach at college and they are not having classes this afternoon. I hope they don't have to evacuate at all because she has no where to go!!!
Ilene, I wouldn't worry too much about her. They've been saying that Ernesto really isn't too bad. Even south Florida hasn't had nearly the problems that they expected. Here, we've just had a little rain so far. Now, we are on the other coast, but once Ernesto has spent the day over land, it shouldn't be as powerful when it leaves the state over by Daytona.

Only 273 posts needed to overtake the 2005 Member Cruise thread. I think we can do it this MONTH if we try. :lmao:
Ok, I think that I added at least 10 or so this morning, just in my attempt to catch up!!!:thumbsup2

I remember we talked about this last year, but that's one of my fears as well. When I leave for vacation, I totally clean the entire house, for fear that there will be a fire and the firefighters will come in and see that I've left a mess. Like somehow, in the ashes, they'll find dust. I realize that's the dumbest thing ever, but it's something I do. And I turn the corner every time we get home and expect to find the house gone. :confused3
We actually had a close call once. While we were on vacation, it had been really dry at home and the grass in our neighbor's back yard caught fire. (I don't remember how it started.) Anyway, it happened at night and our neighbor across the street didn't know we were gone and she told us later that she kept pounding on our door trying to wake us up. The fire dept. :firefight hosed down our garage to keep the fire from spreading and nothing was harmed. It did knock out our power though, and the show that I had set the VCR for didn't record. In the grand scheme of things, that was minor though. And no damage was done to my neighbor's house either, her yard just got singed.

Okay Guys... HELP!!! PLEASE!!!

I know I'm a late commer being taken from the wait list, but now, I'm getting nervous! ;)

Have there been any news letters sent out about this cruise? :confused3 Last year we had regular updates. The only thing I've received in the mail has been the excursion list for CC.

Does anyone know for sure that we'll have a pirate night? pirate: Should we plan on that and pack our "outfits"?

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY INFO!!! :wave2:

The one thing I can share is, we heard through the grapevine that there are some pretty cool stateroom surprises planned for us... :wizard:

I don't have dance costumes, but I do admit that I have my sorority letter shirts and fraternity little sister shirts still in the bottom of my dresser.

I have my sorority letter shirts too. AND my paddles from my little sisters, I had 2 because we had a giant pledge class one year.

well I am in Ernesto's path. Hopefully I won't lose power/internet.
Hopefully you'll be fine, Cheryl. All of our weather guys here have been saying that even in S. Florida, that very few have lost power, and those were restored VERY quickly.

We didn't ever do paddles, but we did do crowns. But, I have NO idea what ever happened to mine. But, I do have some other sorority memorabilia. But, in my senior year, I "willed" down a whole bunch of stuff to the current sisters. We have a HUGE will ceremony for the seniors and they pass on some of their momentos to the newer sisters.

Georgie--Since booking last December, we've received exactly TWO emails from DVC about the cruise. The first one was right after we booked. The last one we just got on August 3rd I believe. It said a whole bunch of nothing and was even outdated because it talked about getting ready to book shore excursions (that we did like 2 weeks before). But at least it was something.

No official word on pirate night, or any other themed nights. But it did say there will be SSMC06 merchandise for sale onboard but not preordered like last year. That was disappointing to some (ME) because I'm just hoping it doesn't turn into the sleep in the hallway and beat people up to get the stuff in the store like other cruisers have experienced. BUT--since I go to kickboxing class, I've volunteered to beat off the crowd so we can get what we want onboard instead of having to buy it on ebay from the sharks! :rotfl:

Nope, not really any other information. The last newsletter that we got a few weeks ago, said that we would have more information soon. But, so far, nothing!

I was so busy watching Ernesto and worrying about Grandpa that I neglected to notice John is about to hit Mexico. My Dad, stepmother and sister left Sunday for a week vacation there. Last year there trip was cancelled because of a hurricane, now this year it looks like they are gonna get hit. :sad2:

LOL ME TOO - and I have added paddles since then as when I served as National Officer a few of the chapters gave gifts and some did paddles.

Yeah, disappointed here too - guess last year's team set the bar too high ;) and this year's team can't meet it. Bummer.

Diana is our woman - :rotfl: and I'll be behind her when the kicking starts!

Hmm---maybe I'll bring those paddles!

What sorority are you in? I'm a DphiE.

Just wanted to say '"Good Morning" :wave2:

I had to set-up with tickerfactory again. I LOVE the mousehouse tickers though!:sad2:

Gail LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Hooters pictures! Can you do that dance on the bus?:lmao:

I hope Ernesto continues to be downgraded. Folks need a break from all the hurricanes from the last couple of years. Yesterday, I was watching a lot of Katrina updates and it is just sad!!!!:guilty:

I think DD and I are either bowling today or going to Chuck E Cheese. I am letting her pick something each day this week because school starts on Tuesday!:teacher:
