Good morning everyone!

Had a great time in chat last night! Lots of Member Cruisers!

Roxann we used to go to one of the other rooms but in the new chat you can't see which are free and I know that the 12/9 cruisers have been taking one of the rooms each week.

I suspect that one of the chatters near the end was a kid (the one who kept asking about VMK and then launched every flash emoticon).

I left about 10:15 central time. Not sure how long everyone else stayed.

Connie - that is nice that Diana was able to stop by and say hello. Always fun meeting up with fellow DISers.

Chris, you're getting close to a milestone too (1,000 posts). You only have a few to go!!!:thumbsup2

Good morning, everyone!! Not so sunny here in the Sunshine state today. I woke up to cloudy skies and rain. So much rain over the past few days, that I need to let water out of the pool before it overflows into my backyard and family room.

Chat was a lot of fun last night!! I didn't last until the end. Too tired!!

No big plans around here this weekend. I'm still cleaning my office, so I'm hoping to spend the day in here today (after straightening up the rest of the house).

Cindy, our team has a Team Manager - a volunteer position of course. She handles all the e-mails and phone calls. Out of 17 girls on the team we only have one family that doesn't have e-mail. She usually sends out e-mail to everyon (except the one family). Of course in the case of cancellations she e-mails everyone and we have to respond that we got the e-mail. If someone doesn't respond then she has to call them. It does cut down on all the phone calls she would normally have to make. Have Gary ask his parents if anyone would be interested in doing something like that. He might be surprised to find a few might be willing to help out. Also, our Team Manager is not the coach's wife, she has enough to do keeping up with his practices/games and fielding all the calls he gets.

We are definately going to work on that. I missed the first part of the parent meeting the other night. I do know that our Soccer Association is adament that the players parents pitch in as well and that everything doesn't rest on the coach/assistant coach. There are specific game days when we have to send a volunteer to line the fields getting them ready for the day. If a parent doesn't show up, their child is suspended.

It all a parent run organization, all volunteer, so I'm hoping that others offer when asked. I know there were some people yesterday who didn't get my message until they probably headed over to the field. And, there was one family I never did get ahold of and hoped they made the decision for themselves. I just don't want flack coming back to me that people wasted their time.

So, now we're looking for a phone tree volunteer, a slush fund volunteer, a field lining volunteer and a uniform lettering volunteer. I also know on Tuesday no one offered for the slush fund, so this could be a long year.

I found that too, Roxann. I love that it moves quicker than the old chat and doesn't bounce you out, but I have a hard time keeping up. It seems when I want to say something, the screen is moving so fast, by the time I write it down, the conversation has moved onto something else. And, I type pretty well.

I'm sure it's just a matter of getting use to it.
