Okay, so it's not the big milestone that the Illinois Mary had, but it's a big one for me, 1800. So, since it's not really time for something "profound", I thought I'd do a GTKYFKK to celebrate:

Congrats on 1800 posts Mary.

1. Do you or have you ever played a musical instrument? (ex. high school band)
Nope, unless you count the tap shoes. I took dance lessons for 14 when I was growing up.

2. Name three things you can always find in your refrigerator.
A-1 Sauce (for David)
Cheese Sticks (for Ian)
Fruit

3. Do you listen to Internet radio? What stations?
Occasionally, usually Disney in nature.

4. What kind of toothpaste do you use?
Used to be a die-hard Colgate user, but now I'm using Crest Whitening Expressions Fresh Citrus Breeze. (Unfortunately I think they've discontinued this flavor cuz I can't find it anywhere and I only have one tube left. :()

5. Do you have any WDW family traditions?
David wants to make a tradition of him and Ian getting their hair cut in MK every trip. So far, so good since Ian got his first haircut there and we haven't been back to WDW since.

I wonder if anyone on the board knows the coordinates of Castaway Cay. I would like to locate it on Google Earth.
That answer was FAST! I told DH ::cop: now he wants to know how many gallons of water are surrounding Castaway Cay? :rotfl2:

Congrats to the Marys on their respective blabbering! Go Girls! :chat:

Ummm, forgot all the rest I read, brb

OK here it is - post #19,000 (as posted on the blabbermouth thread but you guys are a big part of it)!

Seems like it was just yesterday that I was writing about post #18,000. What has happened in the last 1000 posts. Nothing I would call extraordinary. Yet the entire experience is extraordinary. During that time I’ve been involved in two cruise meets threads. The blabbermouth thread, which started for the May 2006, Double Scoop cruise and the 2006 DVC Member Cruise thread. Both of these threads are filled with wonderful people. People I have come to know as friends. The very first cruise Mark and I took was in 1999 and before we found the DIS. The second cruise was in 2001 and while on the DIS I was mostly over on the DVC forums and it was before the cruise meets forum came up. Our third cruise actually had a DIS meet (organized by someone else). Sadly only 3 other people showed (the organizer and one other couple). Our 4th cruise was the 2003 Member Cruise where Mark decided to try and organize a DIS meet. That’s when he came up with the idea of buttons for everyone. They were plastic snap-on ones back then but they were a hit. It is on this cruise where we met some of our first true DIS friends. Our 5th cruise also had a cruise meets thread and a DIS meet but since we were sailing with my in-laws we weren’t as involved. Still we met a great group of DISers and had a great time.

When we came home from the May 2003 cruise (our 5th) something happened that really changed our posting habits. We booked the December 2004 10 day cruise and joined the cruise meets thread for that cruise. 24,000 posts later and we sailed with these wonderful people. We had definitely found another group of great friends. That was our 6th cruise and definitely a special one. It was also the cruise that we booked the May 2006 cruise on. With many of our friends from the 10 day. A cruise meets thread was already well underway. Who knew it would grow to be the biggest cruise meets thread ever!

Late 2004 came the announcement of a 2005 Member Cruise. We were in again and found that many of our friends from 2003 were also. We would also be sailing with a number of DISers we met at DVC Member Homecoming. As with all cruise meet threads we also met even more new people. We had a blast on this, our 7th DCL cruise. It was also on this cruise that we learned that Member Cruise 2006 would be held in October. I don’t think the announcement was even an hour old before the 2006 Member Cruise meets thread was up and running.

May 2006 brought us to the Double Scoop cruise – our 8th. It was so great to see so many friends from the 10-day and also to meet so many new DIS friends. We had a record 5 DIS meets. At JB’s on Friday, at the Radisson on Friday, at Grills Saturday morning, in the terminal Saturday morning, and of course the big one on Saturday afternoon. We were even blessed to have Ducky Williams attend that one.

Cruise #9 is right around the corner. The 2006 Member Cruise and promises to be filled with more fun with DIS friends. Not only are we having a DIS meet on Saturday afternoon, but we are having a party bus of DISers to head over to the port.

In between all these cruises I’ve had a wonderful time chatting with all my fellow cruisers. I’m doing a circle journal with a group of friends from the Member Cruise, we just came back from a wonderful weekend in Ohio with the wonderful ohiomouse family, and we have had the pleasure of meeting up with Cindy’s family a number of times since they live in the area.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. It has been a great ride. We’ve shared lots of laughs, we’ve shared a few tears, and most of all we’ve shared our love of Disney! Thanks everyone!

Awe, Mary. What a wonderful post! :sad1:

I'll play the GTKYFKK questions

1. Do you or have you ever played a musical instrument? (ex. high school band) Nope, you don't want to hear my attempt either. It's not a pretty sight.

2. Name three things you can always find in your refrigerator. Butter, eggs and crumbs.

3. Do you listen to Internet radio? What stations? No, We've had XM in the rental cars lately and it's nice. Not sure if that's internet or not?

4. What kind of toothpaste do you use? Crest Gel

5. Do you have any WDW family traditions? A couple. We always eat at Ohanas once during our trips. We always look up the boys on the Leave a Legacy Wall. They each have their own picture tiles from a couple of years ago. When we went a couple weeks ago, we had one done of them together so now we'll have to hunt down the new one next time we're at EPCOT. And, we always wait to ride the front of the monorail.

OH I have the invites - but because this board is public I need to block out our last names on the photos so it may take me a bit :)

Julie, I can't wait to see the invites! :bride: :groom:

1. Do you or have you ever played a musical instrument? (ex. high school band)
Sadly, Mother tried to have the piano teacher show me how to “get it,” but I didn’t appreciate it.

2. Name three things you can always find in your refrigerator.
Mustard! Mayonnaise! (not salad dressing or whatever the imposter is called.) and milk

3. Do you listen to Internet radio? What stations?
DISRadio

4. What kind of toothpaste do you use?
Colgate Total b/c the hygienist told me I should use it.

5. Do you have any WDW family traditions?
DH ::cop: stops at the Dole Whip stand while I gather up the Citrus Swirl.

You can NEVER have too many Citrus Swirls!

A bit of catching up to do around here today. I'm not sure where my day went -- I know I spent a good part of the afternoon sorting out the uniforms for Walker's soccer team. Then, I had to call all the parents to cancel tonights practice as the thunder was rolling in. I think I need to talk to the coach and have him wrestle up some volunteers to handle this kind of stuff. As that's Gary this year, something tells me I'll be able to pursuade him to see things my way. ;)

I did have a very nice phone call this afternoon from a man at Walt Disney Executive Offices as followup to the letter I wrote to them after our stay a couple of weeks ago. We had a couple less than magical moments that stayed with me after we were home that I wanted to point out. I also wanted to commend the awesome CM's who work the valet at VWL. Suffice it say, Disney definately listens to what people have to say and I was so impressed with the conversation. I was sprinkled with so much pixiedust in that phone call that Disney has just been escalated higher in my book -- and they were already high. For those who don't know, and I didn't until today, Disney keeps every letter written to them, because this gentleman mentioned a letter I wrote back in 12/02 praising several cast members. That's only something that would happen in Disney. At that moment in time, I found that Disney does not look at me as just a once time guest, at that moment, I felt as if I was the only guest and the one that Disney concerned itself with the most at that moment. To say I was WOW'd would be an understatement!!!!

Off to Subway and Quiznos -- one would think my kids would be able to decide on one place to get a sub sandwich. :confused3

If anyone going to chat tonight? If the weather holds out, I'm planning on it. :chat:

Good luck with the car shopping, Georgie!

I can't wait for Christmas! We will be staying @ BCV (again), looking at a table top tree (thanks to wdwstar's tree swap), eating at many fine restaurants, celebrating Christmas and our 19th wedding anniversary. CAN'T WAIT!

2 Special Disney trips within the next 4 months! YIPPEE!!!!!!:cheer2:

:cool1: Woohoo! I just made my 3800th post.

Cindy, our team has a Team Manager - a volunteer position of course. She handles all the e-mails and phone calls. Out of 17 girls on the team we only have one family that doesn't have e-mail. She usually sends out e-mail to everyon (except the one family). Of course in the case of cancellations she e-mails everyone and we have to respond that we got the e-mail. If someone doesn't respond then she has to call them. It does cut down on all the phone calls she would normally have to make. Have Gary ask his parents if anyone would be interested in doing something like that. He might be surprised to find a few might be willing to help out. Also, our Team Manager is not the coach's wife, she has enough to do keeping up with his practices/games and fielding all the calls he gets.

Congratulations Connie!!!

Karen - I hope you are feeling better. Post when you can but your health is paramount.

Happy Anniversary Erin and Rich!!!

Janet - Congratulations on the Barbara Streisand tickets.

Have fun Diana!!!

Congratulations Robin!!!

I should be in chat tonight but later.

I plan on being in chat tonight. I'm going to continue to clean my office/scrapbook room, so I'll be in here anyway.

Congratulations Robin!!

Don't think I'll make it into chat tonight. Ken is leaving for Canada tomorrow for a business trip, so we'll probably watch a movie or something tonight. He'll be gone until Wednesday though, so I should definitely be there on Sunday!

Today was a good day for me. I met up with two friends from work and we moved all our toys that we had in storage over the summer back to the church, then went out to lunch. After that, I went to Michael's and JoAnn's. JoAnn's is having a big scrapbook sale so I bought some stuff in anticipation of a CJ for SSMC06. Have a nice evening, everyone!

Congrats on post #3800 Robin!
