Safe travels Mark & Mary. Have fun at the Irish Fest.

We are headed out to go camping for the weekend. We'll be back Sunday evening. Ugh, no internet for 2 1/2 days, John doesn't think I will survive without my DIS fix!

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Good morning everyone!

Gail - have a great time camping!

Mark has 1/2 day of work and then we are off to Irish Fest. Should be back mid-day on Sunday. I'm going to try very hard to remember to pack the notebook so I should be online later tonight but won't make chat.

Roxann is busy calling different places getting us a great rate on the bus. Once a company is decided on we will need to schedule departure time for Sunday and Thursday.

If you are joining the Party Bus People please post which time option you prefer:

#1 Meet at 8:45 am Leave at 9:00 am Approx Arrival 10:00 am
#2 Meet at 9:15 am Leave at 9:30 am Approx Arrival 10:30 am

#4 Meet at 10:00 am Leave at 10:15 am Approx Arrival 11:15 am

My vote is for #1!! :cheer2:

Good thing Curt isn't riding the party bus. We'd have to take preventative measures and not let him vote because of the cheating incident! :lmao: ;)

Wow, sounds like loads of fun Diana. I haven't been to the horse races in years. I don't know how you choose horses, but my system was purely based on the name of the horse and the colors the jockey wore. :rotfl:

When I was a kid, my dad was part owner of a few race horses. I would go with him to the track and bet that way, on the colors.....or if the Jockey was a girl, all my money would go on her. I was probably 8, Dad would be in jail by today's standards. :lmao:

Today, I bet based on a highly sophisticated combination ;) of the name of the horse, the jockey riding him and the odds. I've learned never to listen to the bozos that pic for the newspaper because they are terrible. I bet one long shot yesterday, only because his name was Christmas Kid. Being that my bday is on Christmas, I took it as a sign! He came in 4th, which was great considering he had like a 50 to 1 odds on him. Of course, 4th doesn't get me any cash. :confused3

So, if we stay @ 37 people we are looking at $19.32 per person. Getting cheaper everyday!:thumbsup2 If we have more passengers the price keeps dropping! Anymore takers?

Roxann, You Rock!! :cool1:

If the driver IS Dan....he'd have to tip me to get on his bus again. :lmao:

Here's the thing that I don't get. Diana, maybe you can explain it to me.

We were not allowed the care package bags that DCL/DVC were giving out because Dan liked to keep his bus clean. Yet, after we stopped at the rest stop (which, personally, I could have done without but that's another story -- I guess Dan needed his slice of pizza to continue driving  ), Dan didn't stop us front bringing anything we wanted back on the bus with us. I remember we brought drinks and it seemed like a lot of others did the same.

So, what was it that Dan gained by not allowing the bag in the first place?

The talking on the cell phone is another issue all together. Do you ever notice, when someone is really driving irratically or having an issue in front of you, chances are they are on the phone? I had this happen on the way back to MCO the other day --- I'm waiting to pay my toll, the guy in front of me is weaving all over the road, then gets up to the toll booth and we sit there. I then notice the head cocked to the side --- holding up a phone to his ear. :furious: I will never understand how people don't see that they are putting others in harms way doing things like this.

Happy Anniversary Connie and Chuck!

Nice pictures Steve! Looks like you are having fun at the new Best Buy!
I forgot to tell you that my kids had a surprise birthday party for me and invited mine and John's family. They had it at Hooters. Yep, they made me stand on the chair flopping my wings while they sang Happy Birthday. Just for you, I had my picture taken with the waitresses. Those pictures are on John's camera so I'll have to find them and post it.

I will have to see those. Have fun camping. Is this tent camping or cabin camping? Somehow I dont picture you doing the whole tent thing :teeth: (Coleen isnt big on it either)

Great pics Steve. So what's the story with the Gemini Giant?
He stands at a small diner along old Rte 66 in Wilmington IL. Originally he was an sign for a chain of muffler stores and he was a mechanic holing a muffler. Back in the early 60's when the muffler stores went bankrupt he was bought and turned into an "astronaut" holding a rocket. Over the years his rocket has been stolen a few times but always seems to return. He is kind of a Rte 66 landmark now!

Happy Anniversary Connie & Chuck!! :love2:

Not sure how much cleaning I'll get done today, but I will be doing lots of laundry. They're predicting rain here all weekend, and I want to be able to do some of this :laundy: with the clothes.

I have been putting off giving our bedroom a good cleaning for a few days, so maybe I'll get around to that too.
